#213 - World's BEST Guitar Solo Exercise (solo like a PRO!)

My friends, it's finally time to work on those guitar solo skills again! You guys and girls voted for the topic of harmonization and music theory - so with today's exercises, I want to show you the amazing possibilities you get from harmonizing your melodies :)

Here's the full download package for this lesson (exercise video play-alongs, guitar pro files, tabs, backing tracks, course workbook/cheat sheet): https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/17JRccHNUp3MmaWNO37hs6b-LILqqK7xo?usp=sharing

I hope this will inspire you to come up with your own amazing melodies and harmonies! In case you enjoy the example in this video, you can follow me here for more guitar music and shredding: https://open.spotify.com/artist/0Ca8QNi2jA2pemnFC6Rydj?si=_67Ltz9FTo6jkxrpyOd0Hw

P.S.: I also made a Dropbox folder in case Google Drive doesn't work for you: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/l57t2z0qggyra13/AADVD8UW9CFPck-Mdk-0GEYAa?dl=0

these harmony over your original solo got me a tear of joy in fact WOW!!!

David Ménard

actually in our jam i had that magic ear to find interesting harmony and that's the stuff i like the most to lead on, i didn't have any knowledge over it yet but now i do and it's a revelation i love that so much!

David Ménard

I literally can't thank you enough for this revelation, I have been looking for a site like this for as long as I can remember!

There's a beginner course coming later this week :)

Bernd Brodträger

Definitely not for my level of music theory yet. Since I'm struggling with finding / visualizing a right scale. Bernth or you guys could you suggest a course here to start sorting that out? Thanks in advance

Bernth, you're an inspiration man. I feel like I'm always here saying how much you've leveled up my game each day/week/month that I follow your systems. I've been learning so much about theory, how to implement appropriate practice routines to improve on my weaknesses in techniques I want to develop. I always just have to say thank you for such great content. I also want to point out how fun your videos are. I love the little clips you add to give some comedic aspects that crack me up. Keep doing what you're doing my man! Hope you're having a great weekend!

Hi, anyone knows the Date uploading this ´Triangle Shape´ mentioned at 2.25 ? Thx

Andreas Wolf

@Ivan V. I agree this is fantastic stuff. I'm excited and eager to work on this lesson material. Thanks Bernth.

Thanks for asking Manuel! This website is great for that: https://www.all-guitar-chords.com/scales

Bernd Brodträger

This is very cool - I'm very hyped about this course, it fits really nicely on some stuff I've been working on learning... 😎🤟

Ivan V.

I am so happy that I can play this half decent I have been trying to learn this for ages with my ears and just no hope Learnt it in 20 minutes Now to get it clean and expressive I love this Bernth thanks again sensei

One of my favourite runs ever Thank you so much Pure gold as always Jumping straight on it

jaz

Awesome lesson. Been waiting for something like that.

Evan

Thanks Bernth! What's the fretboard visualization software at 4:10 in the video?

I think it's so interesting how different harmonizing in 3rds sounds to doing it in 6ths, considering a 6th is a 3rd below the note

Edwin van Slingerlandt

You never disappoint Bernth, Just great lessons every week. Superb.

Steve Shaw

Nice, and finally a video where I can say "Hey, I know this!" :-P Still, harmonizing in Sixth is something I'm going to try!

Fhynix

Bernth & coffee ☕️ morning! 🥳 Is it weird that I'm more excited that this will be a great exercise to help me with my bending technique? 😅 However I think learning how to harmonize will also make learning a scale and its intervals a lot more fun than just straight memorization. Worlds are colliding! 🤯

Eric Bailey

The thirds were also my favorite in the beginning, now they sound mostly boring to me. I already knew the trick with the intervals in the scale, but as described in the video, the difficulty lies in the choice of harmony depending on the musical added value. I think it's like cooking - more is not more

Daniel Lager

Ooooooo i can't wait to try this after work!! Thanks, Teach🤘👽🤘

DarthWooPV

Thanks

Thank you, Maestro!)
