Best lesson you have ever ever done and I have seen almost all of them! Combines everything: Music theory, way of thinking, techniques. More lessons like this one please. If you can do some for complete solos - how to built it, develop, match it with what you hear from the rhythm section, etc it will be great!

Evan

I finally managed to play some licks in 2x speed thinking it would be kinda fast and then I saw the original tempo.. my god, I'm not even close hahaha

Hey Baz, this is a helpful lick/exercise when it comes to 4 note per string licks/scales: https://www.patreon.com/posts/119-4-note-per-42432823 Hope that helps :)

Bernd Brodträger

Having a tough time wiring my head for 4 note per string fingering with a lot of this stuff. I think if I was to get settled into this the rest would come easier. Only thing is these stretches really strain my upper wrist and I'm considered about tendonitis / carpel kinda stuff. If I was 20 yrs younger maybe not so much but wow.

Baz Van Riet

Like the #1 exercise it helps stop the pinky flying off.

Steve Shaw

Great stuff ! Very effective to practice my fingers !!

Erwin Weyers

Let's make the word "Kartoffel" and I'm happy

Edwin van Slingerlandt

another great lesson! this page is a 1 of a kind! my favourite is how you explain the licks and break them down! now i can make similar licks using the same techniques!

Great! The dropbox link is most useful :-)

Dee

Greetings from Turkey :)

That's a great question! You can definitely use your own picking patterns for these, I think it's a bit different for all of us :) Some patterns just allow better timing and accents for me personally!

Bernd Brodträger

good stuff man! learning a lot from you lately. Have played guitar off and on for years now, but taught myself and just played stuff that sounded cool rather than learning what notes i was actually playing!

Justin Hewison

You are such a good dude. Thank you my friend.

Geyzer Salgado

lick #4 is absolute fire!!!

Marco

I def learned something for all - the way you break down the simplicity helps me when trying to come up with my own. I enjoyed number 5 the most, only because I am always working on a the practice skills to speed up or burst my sweeps. Three and four were probably the most intricate sounding - again with your explanation seem "simple."

You know how to make a young lad's weekend, Bernth :-)

The first string sounds like Steve Vai to me. Awesome technique as always bernth!

Davens Michael

Wow!! This is perfect! I was actually just going through all your posts yesterday, trying to find a post with a couple great licks! Amazing timing, and awesome licks! I really dig the diminished lick! I like that it seems to cover a lot of the neck, but is a pretty easy pattern to get under my fingers! Thank you so much for this lesson, and all your great lessons! You cover so many topics, and the way you break everything down, makes it easy for those of us who are not as fluent. You create a learning environment that is achievable for all of us.

Tracy Lewis

Can't wait to start these!!

Jim Johnson

Thanks Bernth. Oh you forgot the "Word of the Day". Lol!

William L Williams

Hi Bernth!! Thx for your licks trick!!. One question for the last one, Why do you attack the E String by a downstrokes after the D# Note? I found it easer to use an upstrokes as we already do one for the D# Have some work now xD Thx again

kevin Dumont

Brilliant Stuff as always!
