Lesson Voting August!

Alright my friends, it's time to decide on the lesson topics for this month :) I have one video in the making concerning music theory, the rest will be up to you - can't wait to see how you all decide!!

Either one of these is fine by me! But a wish on my behalf would be another daily 15-min workout / warm-up, possibly with exotic scales and different intervals etc. :) Hopefully we'll have another 30-day challenge soon (possibly two-hand tapping? O:-) ) , but I'm still three weeks away with the legato-challenge so it's all good, hehe.

Another aspect which keeps this fresh for me is understanding that the elephant wasn’t consumed with one bite. I break down some of the more complicated riffs into smaller pieces, then reconstruct from memory. I’ve limited time to practice with all the other projects I’ve committed to, and this methodology keeps me from becoming frustrated. Robert- thanks for the tip on recording my efforts!

Thank you mate! I'm downloading that lesson and I'll take a look.

Same. :) I record myself playing each exercise the first time, and if I doubt or think that I haven't learned anything I look at the old recordings. Often the first attempts looks like a "shredd parody" compared to where I'm today. :D

#172 has a great exercise to minimize fret noise during legato. :)

Robert Bjärmyr

Love these exercises as I not only stretch my fingers/hand, I also stretch my mind to expect to play these flawlessly. Not quite there yet, but I enjoy practice as I see and especially hear the results.

Hey Keith! I've been struggling with unwanted noise in some cases (descending string skipping patterns, some legatos etc) So I find your idea quite cool, I don't know if it has been covered yet in any video.

Mike Codev

I play 7 string tuned 1/2 step down so a 7 string lesson every now and then would be nice

Shawn W

Something that really baffles me is unwanted noise from my picking hand when doing descending runs of 3 notes per scale. I always seem to somehow thump the 3rd string while playing notes on the second, or thump the second when playing the first string, etc. Could you cover this in the future, or make it a part of this topic?
