#152 ACOUSTIC VS ELECTRIC - EPIC GUITAR BATTLE!

Time for a fun video before we move to the next lessons :) I always wanted to do an acoustic VS electric video and finally found a bit of time to shoot it! Which takes did you prefer?

Playing acoustic guitar is quite challenging when it comes to technique, speed, and control and I definitely could benefit from the jobs where I had to work with this instrument! You can't hide behind tons of effects or distortion and my first live gig on acoustic guitar was quite a revelation :) Since then I also like to do my technique workouts like this here and there to challenge myself and I can really recommend it!

Don't forget to download your files below, there are some really cool parts in there - hope you have fun jamming this weekend :)

#152 ACOUSTIC VS ELECTRIC - EPIC GUITAR BATTLE!

Thanks a lot Bernth. Most of the speed drills which I play in electric guitar with distortion, are quite challenging while trying with acoustic guitar. So, I feel almost to quit.. Hereafter I would practice acoustic too, as you recommended. Thanks a lot again for such valuable advices... πŸ™

I think I could benefit a lot from playing acoustic guitar for different jobs and sometimes practice technique with it (legato especially) - feels like you're flying on electric after that :)

Bernth, how practicing finger exercises (including speed workouts) in acoustic guitar will affect for our electric guitar playing? Will it be an advantage or not? Because I feel playing most of the finger exercises in acoustic guitar is much harder

Thanks for sharing this Damien! I'd love to do that, the next lesson topic voting is around the corner - let's see how the community decides :)

the first electric part (chords) is just amazing Bernth ! a lesson about that type of playing, composition, rhythm and maybe a inspiration playlist would be amazing !

Damien Gautron

Love this!! amazing, thanks so much Bernth.

Beautiful. Loved the electric solo and the two together at the end. Makes my heart soar. Thank you as always for taking the time to create these great inspiring videos

Bernth dude! You rock it both!

That was amazing. Especially with both the Acoustic and Electric. Thank you for the inspiration.

That was epic. I loved the video. Thank you for this musical treat.

So cool. I love the way you were looking at each other like you were competing. Love it!

Andrew bamford

Wow, Bernth; your technique on both instruments is so fluid, and precise; so impressive ! Fun video.; I enjoyed it. Thanks.

Brian Fox

I love the combination of electric and acoustic

Logan

Love that you provide the Guitar Pro files Bernth as I am often lost watching you play LOL. Much appreciated!

props to the synergy of the two instruments - I mean, I'm hardly surprised, but it's pretty wild to hear the accuracy on the acoustic and even more so when the two instruments are playing the same melody in tandem.

Nick Peth

They are both amazing! I loved the acoustic takes, they sound phenomenal. But, absolutely loved the electric guitar solo section. As always, great job Bernth, thanks for all you do.

In this case..... acoustic wins!

Both are amazing and can stand their own ground. You cannot beat the beauty and sophistication of an acoustic and you just cant top the heavy carnage produced by a distorted electric. I love them both equally although i play an electric more because its a bit more comfortable to me since the body isnt as big. I need to buy myself a parlor acoustic, the bodies are a lot more "comfortable" on those. Great video Bernth.

Really loved the sound of the Acoustic. But tried Acoustic, didn't really get used to it. But I would love that model you played.

Steve Shaw

Wow. I love that you can pick up an acoustic and it sounds so impressive- it shows that your great technique is transferable to very different instruments. Great stuff Bernth. Thank you.

I lean towards electric, but in your video I am undecided. Both are awesome.
