#129 - 5 Best Metronome Practice Tricks!

It's finally time for the first wishlist lesson this month: you voted for practicing with a metronome! This video is NOT just about me telling you how important it is and that you should use it though :)

We check out 5 very helpful tricks, from playing/practicing fast material (reference point system), developing groove (changing the pulse), finding the right sound, all the way to custom MIDI click tracks, note groupings, and using helpful tools.

I also transcribed the practical examples for you and made backing tracks so that you can get used to the exercises! After that, it would be great to practice them (you guessed it) with a metronome :)

Hope you all have a lot of fun with this one, according to the voting the next lesson will be about combining chords and solos for chord/melody arrangements!

I really like the ideas on Metronome - and I have begun using the Midi approach with drums - it actually helps my brain wrap around the timings - great stuff! Thank you

Another great lesson and FWIW : practising with my iPad, I love the super flexible app “ Pro Metronome (by EUM labs)” : all possible sounds, accents , sequencing with increasing speed, sequence with sudden sound gaps to check your consistency et. ... and a clock or bar counter to check practice time ! 😁... and no, no endorsement 😉

Thanks Bernth, for the moment I really struggle a lot by playing Iron Maiden's the prisoner, Smith plays triplets but in a 4/4 measure ... no idea how to wipe this 3 note sequence in a 4 beat measure :O
