#100 - 3 Killer Tricks For Neoclassical Shredding!

We just hit 100 lessons on here, how crazy is that :) Happy to keep sharing all this knowledge with you, we are barely getting started!

Let's celebrate with another lesson from your wishlist for this month - neoclassical shredding/licks! These 3 tricks will allow you to bring out that neoclassical sound in your playing easily. We are working with horizontal shred licks (a topic we overlooked for far too long), chromatic ornamentation of scale notes, and tricky 3 note per string licks, switching between 2 different strings!

I hope you have a lot of fun with this one, enjoy your weekend my friends :)

Thanks a lot for asking Richard! I use the SHRG1Z as my main guitar, that has been my dream model since I was a child :) Took many years to find one in good condition (and at a reasonable price) and I bought in on reverb.com a couple of years ago! The other one is the Ibanez Prestige RG657AHM-GDF - I like that one because of the sound (many options with the 5-way switch) and you can get that classic strat sound out of it because of the single-coil (very cool for clean/crunch sound, at least to my ears) :)

Thank you ! :)

@Steve Shaw I used to have a nice black Ibanez Pro Line series back in the 80's , it was one of my favorites due to the lock nut and free floating tremolo system, never went out of tune. I agree it is a very cool looking, and sounding guitar. Cool lesson btw, thanks Bernth.

Another great lesson for #100, looking forward to the future with you Bernth.

Dear Bernth, What guitars are you playing? I've never seen an S series with those neck decals, and the GOLD RG looking item looks amazing!

Thanks for sharing that Micah, very happy to hear that the lessons are helping! :)

Congrats on #100! It's exciting and fun to have a new lesson every week or so. My over all playing and skill have been dramatically improved over that last year and I (and the shred community) thank you for that. 😁🎸
