#95 - My New Fast Picking Technique!
Added 2020-06-29 12:00:03 +0000 UTCToday I'd like to show you my new picking approach! I've been working on this for quite a while now, finally got it to a level where I can show it to you and explain what's going on :)
I developed this style for the new album so you will this one a lot on there! It's essentially a combination of sweep picking and arpeggiating chords with a distorted sound. This technique is easy to speed up but it's difficult to maintain the same note spacing and rhythm! The right hand does all the hard work here, that's why I can push the tempo easier than with regular sweep picking.

That is really awesome stuff - I vaguely recall Paul Gilbert back in the Race-X days doing the more chaotic approach. almost like a fill in the scaling :) - probably not really this technique at all though. I really like the triplet effect, it demonstrates - if done like you - control! Love it!
