#79 - The Theory Exercise That Changed EVERYTHING | Metal Music Theory #2

Welcome to the second lesson for this week! Today we check out an amazing theory concept that will improve all your guitar solo skills (improvisation, arrangement, transcription, writing,...) and it was a big game-changer for me in the beginning.

You will get a completely different understanding of the fretboard by following this step-by-step formula (chord - triad arpeggio - 7th arpeggio - scale) and you can break out of your chords for melodies/shred licks easily that way :) Of course, this is also extremely helpful when you're improvising over difficult chord changes.

This is just the first step of mastering this theory concept but it serves as a great starting point! Let me know if we should dive deeper in the lesson votings for next month :)

I only uploaded the backing track in one tempo since you can do it on your own and only need a metronome - I suggest to include this in your practice routine from now on!

Thanks a lot for your lessons. All materials are very useful, interesting and not boring with comfortable timing. Great combination and balance between music theory, techniques and melody. After your videos, I find a lot of new for me. Thanks again. Pls continue.

Great lesson. Thanks Bernth!

Absolutely Paul! :) Please let me know how that goes, I also have an old guitar with a floyd that would be a great candidate for a retrofitting :) The workshop here wouldn't do it because it has a graphic print..

Bernd Brodträger

Awesome stuff as usual 😁 I see you're digging the Evertune eh? I actually spoke with CS at Evertune and they provided a list of shops that will still do floyd routed installs... I may be shipping that WR1 off to New York ...
