I Spent 1000$ To Upgrade A 1500$ Guitar - Worth It? | Evertune & Fishman Pickups

This week's lesson is coming tomorrow (2 topics straight from the April wishlist)  - but today I'd like to share this early access video with you, it might be interesting if you're interested in gear :)

I want to finally upgrade and fix some older guitars this year instead of buying new models. Today we check out if the Evertune bridge is worth considering and if the Fishman pickups hype is justified!

I hope you enjoy this video, it's something a bit different and we will get back to the lessons right away tomorrow :)

I Spent 1000$ To Upgrade A 1500$ Guitar - Worth It? | Evertune & Fishman Pickups

Used to have an Ibanez Pro Line series with the lock nut system, it was amazing, it was well worth the money, forget which tremolo, but I could raise and dive bomb without going out of tune. Love that brand.

Thanks for taking the time to share that Kalsten - a lot of great input! I heard a lot of great things about the Solar guitars, sounds interesting! I'm an Ibanez fanboy for many years and work with them in an endorsement relationship since 2011 - they have a german headquarter together with Tama/Meinl and it's great that I can visit them to try out the new models and so on :) But I do hope that they will include more Evertune models (especially with the 7 strings!), right now the Munky (Korn) signature is the only one I think :)

My "brand" normally is Jackson... pointy ones 😁 I may go for it the upgrade someday with certain guitars... I like the Evertune that much. But yeah, Solar's have the Evertune, very good pickups and stainless steel frets at a solid price 🤘🏼

Paul Baglio

I am also very happy with my Solar with Evertune. And the Solar pickups really sound very nice. They are clear, and they can really pack a punch!

Sincerely, I think that retrofit a Evertune into a guitar is just too much work/too expensive. I bought a Solar guitar with Evertune for 950 € and I am extremely happy with it. (Solar guitars is the brand of Ola Englund, I don't know if you know him). I recently got one of my old guitars fit with Fishman Fluence Modern and I am super happy with them. My guitar was an old Yamaha RGX 420S which I had for more than 15 years, and even as a cheap guitar, it really hold now against my more expensive guitars (Yamaha really made good guitars in the 90'). Anyhow, thank you for all your videos. It is the first time I got into Patreon, but I've been following you in Youtube for a while. Really nice videos, man! :)

I've actually got an E1.7 incoming as we speak 😁 If you haven't played one or heard the Duncan Solar pickups I highly recommend them as an all metal player 😁

Paul Baglio

This is why I've been buying Solar's like crazy! I've been selling off every guitar I don't "need" 😂

Thanks Danny

Respect, Ry Naylor is also a patron, I learn alot from you also dude.

I can really recommend it so far :) Those tuning inconsistencies (especially with that low A standard tuning) sounded really bad with big chords... Let's see how well it holds the tuning in the future!

Bernd Brodträger

Definitely sounds better with the upgrade. I want an Evertune!

Ry

Great video, Fishman Fluence Modern are great PU's. I have them in both, 6 string and 7 string guitar. If you go directly DI, it is the best I found so far.

Thanks Erykah, happy you liked it :) I was honestly surprised by the difference, I also like the sound much better now!

Bernd Brodträger

Hey Bernth :) Thank you for making this video, it's definitely neat to see the difference your upgrades have made and I think it sounds great!

Erykah

Thanks for sharing Danny, happy you like this one :) The first 7 string lesson is coming next week since a lot of members voted for this topic, there I'm sharing everything concerning note location and extended arpeggios/scales and we look at a cool practical example!

Bernd Brodträger

Cool guitar build Bernth, Fishman Fluence are great pickups, I just moved on to a 7 string and bought a Strandberg prog 7 with Fishmans and I love it, I would love to see some tips on how to use a 7 string compared to a 6 string.
