#72: How To Shred All Over The Neck In 5 MINUTES | The Octave Trick (Note Location)
Added 2020-03-26 14:00:03 +0000 UTCHello my friends, it's finally time for another lesson :) This time we work with the power of octaves again and check out an amazing trick concerning fretboard visualization.
A lot of players have a hard time visualizing scales all over the neck and it can be quite intimidating to look at a 24-fret scale diagram. With the 'scales boxes' approach we also often sound like we're stuck in certain positions.
I hope that this trick helps you with visualizing scales and unlocking the neck, please apply it to all the scales you know! You can also practice this approach to the backing track but it's not meant to be an extensive exercise in your routine - find your own patterns and listen to how free and creative it sounds as soon as you ignore the 'scale box' approach for a bit :)

For me this is much better and more efficient than memorising scales.
