Another week! Here's What You May Have Missed.

Hope everyone is having a good start to their weekend. I personally am going to be smoking some salmon in my smoker this evening.
But on the work front, it’s Saturday, and that means it’s time for our Patreon Week in Review. We figure doing this every week is a good way to share the work you might have missed from us, while also highlighting what content is available to people who subscribe to our Patreon.
Mikhail is traveling this week — he’s at the VALORANT Champions Tour finale event in Los Angeles. So the week was a bit slower than usual, but we published a new edition of The Jacob Wolf Report and a new episode of Visionaries this week.
Some housekeeping before we get to the work:
- We’re looking to set a date for our first monthly, off-the-record conference call for Visionary and Executive Producer-level Patrons. If you want to participate, you can upgrade here. Mikhail works the evenings at The Post, so we can either do weekday mornings or evenings. Poll: https://www.patreon.com/posts/vote-for-date-of-88294254
- We still have our collaboration with Ateyo going. Head over to our Shop website to get The Jacob Wolf Report, ReaderGrev and Visionaries x Ateyo Tech Zip-Up collaboration today: https://store.overcomemedia.co/products/the-jacob-wolf-report-visionaries-readergrev-x-ateyo-tech-zip

Wednesday: This week, I wrote about the Sentinels’ crowdfunding investment campaign, which launched in July but didn’t publish full financial data until a couple of weeks ago. I spent a few days reviewing and analyzing the memorandum and consulting with some other entrepreneurs who’ve crowdfunded, and other business executives to review my math.
The result? Not good! Sentinels likely has less than six months of runway left, even in the best-case scenario. My conclusion is that it’s not just asking fans to save its organization from financial peril, but acting irresponsibly by doing so — because if it doesn’t cut its ridiculous monthly spend very quickly, it will sink by next summer.

Friday: I had the pleasure of interviewing Andrea Sepenzis and Michael Chu, two former Riot Games developers, for Visionaries this week. After a combined 13 years of working on League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, VALORANT and “Arcane,” Michael and Andrea are now leading Treehouse Games, a new studio creating cooperative building multiplayer game Codename Islands.
It was a really enlightening conversation in which they both spoke candidly about the lessons they learned in the hardcore competitive gaming space, and how that high barrier to entry and unwelcoming environment can be intimidating to some players.

That’s it for us this week. We’ll see you next week! Deuces, Uces.
