OG Art - Junk Workshop - Cuahutemoc metro station
Added 2022-02-04 19:00:06 +0000 UTCIn the present, Cuahutemoc station is very close to the downtown's commercial area, which is really really popular (and where there's large agglomerations of people, it's a covid niche basically). So, we thought people would prefer to gather in familiar or meaningful spaces such as this, in our dystopic future it became a trade and commerce center, street taken over by stands and a constant public wandering looking at the stands wares. Markets like that are actually pretty common here! Just look for "mercado ambulante" on google an you'll see ;0
The second illustration is the underground part (elevated and subterranean lines converge in this station) and how it would've been retrofitted to be of use as a commerce space. When I finished it and went back to see the original pictures, it got me thinking how hard it is to actually visualize a future, and even more so to image how spaces looked years before.
