For the workshop we also had to tell a story because, what a better way to convey a catastrophe than with a story? It got personal very fast, so we were tasked to focus on our own character's every day life. What they ate, what tools they used, what they did in their free time?
Instead of writing something long (of course I went for illustration) I drew, which allowed me to think and analyze what materials and objects would still be around by them. I would've liked to obsess more over textures and materials, but I think it makes a clear statement.
