OG Art - Junk Workshop - OC Ikerina
Added 2022-01-28 18:01:07 +0000 UTCIn hindsight, a lot of Ikerina's concept design stemmed from my own nonconformity with my sexual orientation and gender expression. Her pronouns are she/they (tho gender talk is not very hot in 2300 but it's no taboo either) and likes who she likes, practicality first.
It was through her design that a lot of questions arose, like: what do people wear?, do people produce their textiles?, can you make clothes out of plastic? (yes!), are clothes affordable? self made? ETC.
So, as you can see in the first image, her clothes are patchy and made to be resistant and practical. You can also see the radiation burns she has in the unprotected areas of her skin, this is because of the still existing radiation, but she doesn't care. Also, her hair is that color because of constant exposure it's damaged and discolored.
In this story everyone has to wear breathing masks, since the air is still somewhat toxic (people won't die instantly if exposed, but begin to feel it's effects in minutes) everyone needs to wear breathing masks. Ikerina's was inspired in Lucha Libre masks, to inspire fear. I'll share the design in another post!
