Jun2025Ranma Poll and Several Announcements

Hey everyone.  Long time no speak.  Sorry about that, but near to 48,000 words of Heroes and RL took my attention.  Still, its off to Tomon and Primordial Vortex, we’ll see if they have time to look it over. If not, I will still be posting it here Sunday night regardless. However between getting that back (hopefully) and Grammarly/going through the final segments of ATP I won’t be able to get out both a Ranma and HP fic by the end of the month.  I had hoped to do so, but I’ve been babysitting my niece half of every day, so don’t have enough time to do more than one.  Unless I can keep them both below 18,000 words each, which… yeah… SIGH. 

I will instead carry the HP poll into July and make the winner of that my first priority in July.  It will be followed by the Patron Only Poll, which I will post today or tomorrow.  Third in July will be the Ranma poll winner. And then… we will see.

Anyway, before we get to the June Ranma poll results… sorry about the lack of progress on the Collection thing. See babysitting thing.  Babies are cute and cuddly, but oh my god, they are work for the whole family.  Just glad I don’t need to deal with her at night.  Thankfully, that should stop after the fourth when the parents are back to do the grandparent thing. I will try to finish the Stallion collection tonight/tomorrow and one more after that before the end of the month at least. 

Now, on to my thoughts on the poll questions I put out at the start of the month.  First the Blurb poll.  You all were pretty clear in the actual poll that you all thought I was spreading myself too thin, and you didn’t want to see any blurbs unless it wouldn’t impact my work.  This… well, thank you, first of all.  It’s always nice to see that you all care about my mental health.  Under that same heading, Novus and Jeremy Boyet both mentioned doing what I wanted to in order to not force myself into writing for specific stories when I am not inclined in that direction. 

This… this has been a major issue of late.  I AM NOT GOOD at rewriting my own stuff.  I kind of suck at it.  I am an okay editor of other people’s stuff, but my own… it just drags, my attention goes waaaaa and rewriting/redoing the final chapters of ATP took me FAR longer than it should have.  WAY longer.  It should have taken me a week, considering I didn’t make very many changes in the Epilogue.  But my marvel muse just died and finishing it became work.  I tried to put it off, tried to let my marvel muse revive, and it only came back slowly but then keeled over again every time. 

But it will be done once I finish Grammarlying it.  Things should be better then, just in time for my babysitting duties to be handed off to the grandparents once more.

So, getting to the point most people will care about, I will not go overboard on blurbs, but if something grabs my Muses and forces them to go in one direction for a time, I will go with it rather than fight it. 

In a similar vein, the FILFY question. Here, more people wanted to remove the HP poll every other month.  That was kind of wild to me.  I thought everyone would want to put it back in the HP poll, which came in second place in the poll.  Funny.

This is where this question ties into the point about not forcing myself, though.  I haven’t found any really good DxD fics lately that I haven’t already read.  So my DxD muse hasn’t really been clamoring for my attention.  That’s partly why I thought to put GDWHOM on hold after this latest arc is over.  I… will keep FILFy off the polls and to one side for July and August, then see if my DxD muse is good to go.  I am sorry to my FILFy fans, but I really don’t want to put out a subpar product because my muse didn’t agree with me and I forced it.

Oh and Razgriz0X , on the HP/Kuroinu cross.  I think it will remain on the back burner outside of December Patron Presents until after at least two HP fics are finished, including FILFy.  In all honesty… that probably means Magic of the Force?  Or maybe King of Champions.  I will need to think about that one, maybe post an updated list of my fics and how long till completion they are.

When it came to my question about Journey Gone Astray, I was again pleasantly surprised that a lot of people want me to wait to finish another story before bringing it back in.  That being said, BrianG and HP-DG-AP-PN-RG-NR brought up A Herd in Space and my Familiar of Zero/Ranma Homage fic instead.  That’s… interesting.  I don’t think my muse would agree with either coming back at this point, sorry.

Which ties into the point about FILFy.  I will see what my DxD muse is feeling after GDWHOM wins the Ranma poll again (it has to happen eventually, it’s got the carry over effect until it does!).  If I don’t have fun writing the chapter, which I should, I mean, Saeko and the rest are neat characters, then I will put it on hold for a time and bring in Journey Gone Astray to replace it in the poll.  If I do have fun, then the Ranma rotation will remain the same for now. 

Now, with that out of the way, here are the results of the Ranma poll.  I chose this poll because of ATP, and the fact that I might be able to also get out an addendum to the HP/SW concept I posted last month so I thought that would be a good consolation prize.  That would turn it into a full teaser chapter.

… That being said, if Stallion wins again, I’ll just carry that over into July, and switch to the HP poll winner.  I could MAAYBE finish Stallion by the end of the month by cutting the chapter off after the crew leave Shabondy for Fishman Island. I could not do so in enough time for even Hiryo to see it, and I really prefer to let both the Master of the Ranma lore and Tomon both see it.

Now, onto the results... huh.

 Since I wanted to write some cute Tali/Ranma romance, I voted for Effect of A Horse and a Dragon.  It won 925 on it’s own, so my votes only brought it up to 1,325, making it remain in third place.

In Second place, losing for the first time in a few months, Stallion of the Line brought in 1,824.

That means, thanks to the carry over effect of 850, Gods and Devils and Wild Horses, Oh My, with a total of 1,930.

Even with a carry over effect that large, Stallion still almost won.  I want to thank everyone who supports that fic, because I do love playing with the One Piece universe, but hey, this will tell me all I need to know about my DxD muse...
