April HP Poll 2025

And here is the HP Poll for April.  I will start working on this third this month after Climbing and the Ranma poll winner are done.  Again, this is because it will allow Tomon and Hiryo the most time I can give them to look over the Stallion chapter for me.  As there will still be a few interspersed, small, World building moments, that is not a small consideration as it would be if the chapter was just fluffy lemony goodness… which a large majority of it is going to be, LOL.

Anyway, the HP choices are:

Magic of the Force – HP/SW crossover:  A desperate Dominus responds with alacrity to the warning given to him by Sidious, but arrives too late.  A pylon of the Veil is destroyed, causing reverberations felt across the galaxy as the future, long clouded to most of the Jedi, becomes a little clearer, and Sidious’s certainties are rocked.  As Sidious deals with the first crisis of faith he’s ever had, Dominus grabs what he can prior to taking command of the Grand Fleet pushing towards Corellia, and Harry, Aalya and many other Jedi act to take advantage of events. The reverberations of this hide another blow coming at Sidious’s long term plans directed by Komari and Quinlan, fresh off passing on information to the Jedi agents Harry and Aayla sent to meet with them.  Meanwhile, Harry and his ladies arrive on Tenaab, where Padme verbally slaps a bitch, the group run into the first of several assassination attempts, one from a surprising source.  Sidious is forced to ponder the unthinkable, as C’baoth changes plans large and small. At the same time, more information falls into the hands of the GDL, allowing them to, while still desperately defending themselves, start planning a true offensive.

Fate Touched In Middle Earth – HP/Tolkien Crossover: Investigations into the life of the Easterlings via their camp and equipment come up confusing for Harry and Fili, while Tauriel removes herself for a time, needing to deal with the violence against other beings with actual souls. Returning, she and Harry both marvel at dwarven engineering, before seeing their first valley hold, which shows even more engineering in new and interesting ways, especially in terms of what dwarves can do with access to running water. Fili, Gimli and Harry talk with the local ruler, getting a bit of news about the war abroad, giving Harry some thoughts for further runic experimentation. Meanwhile Tauriel communes with first some very ancient, strange trees, and then her inner self, divining her path forward. Arguments abound, with the local ruler proving… objectionable, causing Harry to leave for a time. The lovers converse, reaching a unpalatable decision, separating for the first time since Harry returned from taking Bilbo home. Elsewhere, Aragorn leaves Rivendell for his first ranging as Harry sets his feet east and Tauriel north, one to hunt the dark things hiding in Middle Earth, the other to war to aide his friend.

Bhaalson Remodel – HP/Baldur’s Gate/Gamer crossover: With Harry and his small group out of position, the first to see any signs of the danger closing in on Beregost is a group of the locals, Edwin and Alora. Surviving the experience, they retreat to the town, where Imoen and Viconia are having a confrontation with Vai. Without their front line fighters, Jaheira or Dynaheir severely limits the kind of tactics available to the group as the true size of the danger finally dawns on them.  Imoen takes charge as she and the other members of Harry’s party see the information gleaned by Harry and his group, after which Alora and Imoen prove that snow and tracks therein are not enough to stop traps from being devastating.  Faced with a hard choice, Harry leaves behind his fellows, racing on through the night and day to reach Beregost in time, a journey interrupted by a divine visitation. The attackers press forward despite whatever Viconia’s duplicitous mind and Imoen’s skills can devise, before Harry arrives as the true mind behind the assault reveals itself, forcing a confrontation of epic proportions.

There will be no carryover here. It’s been three months since even Fate was updated, and I want to let you all vote straight here. In the same vein, I will not vote in this poll unless I can’t start work on it by the 20th as I assume I will be. If I can’t, say, start on the chapter by the 23rd, then I will need to vote for Fate, as the smaller chapters of that work are easier to get out than either Bhaalson, with its formatting (Khalid) issues, and the SW universe’s demand for some real world building.

This poll will end the 19th.

Personally, I hope Magic of the Force wins, so it can be sent out by May the 4th

Come on people Bhaalson needs some love

All three of my favorite fics in one poll and I have to choose one T-T...

Having to choose between Magic and BR is so hard, lol. I miss both of them equally. EDIT: seeing the results has helped me. Fate it's fine, but Tauriel (I haven't seen the Hobbit movies, sue me) doesn't resonate with me. I think that the story will be not better but more appealing if Harry didn't have a romantic partner.
