January2025 HP Poll Results
Added 2025-01-22 00:10:28 +0000 UTCLike I said earlier today, I am closing the HP poll now. I will start work on it next Monday.
Bhaalson Remodel: 938. OOOF… without my votes, BR always gets crushed. Case in point, of those votes, only 9 came from fanfic. Just… ouch. Why no love for Viconia and co? BG3 has done nothing for this fic.
Magic of the Force: 1,824. A fantastic showing, even though there weren’t as many votes in total over on fanfic this time… because I forgot to tell fanfic yes, the poll should be displayed on my profile there. ERK. Anyway, Magic brought in 35.
However, with a quarter carry over effect of 625 and 27 votes from fanfic, Fate Touched in Middle Earth is the winner with a total of 2,091.
There you are guys! You’ll be seeing some Harry/Tauriel by the end of the month. Hope you all are staying warm/cool, whichever is your preference.

I always vote for Bhaalson but i think it suffers from the lack of update drumming up interest.

2025-01-26 20:16:51 +0000 UTCYou know, I read Bhaalson and was going to point out the dozen ways in which the gods appear like absolute morons by trying to ban Harry's magic 'because it has the potential for evil'. I mean, why not ban swords? Lots of people in D&D have died because of swords, and a lot of evil has been done with swords, and the same can then be argue for every single weapon, almost all farming, carpentry and masonry tools, plenty of musical instruments, and pillows... all the way to arguing that free will should also be banned because free will is, when you think about it, the source of all evil. After all, all evil is born from someone deciding to commit evil, so free will's potential for evil surely, SURELY has the highest potential for evil out of everything else in the multiverse. But then I remembered, after Cyric became a god, he comissioned a book called the Cyrinishad, which turned out to be so fucking epic that anyone who reads the book becomes a devout worshipper of Cyric. Even other gods. So there was this one time when Cyric was on trial by the other gods, and submitted the Cyrinishad as proof of his innocence and right to rule. All the other gods agreed that letting him read it in the presence of all the other gods would be stupid. Except Tyr, god of justice, law, and courts, who said it would be illegal and reprefensible to not let the accused use every argument in his defense. If the gods afterwards forever became enslaved to Cyric, well that's the breaks. Mystra swapped the books, and Cyric tricked her into admitting that she did so, which pissed off Tyr because the sacred rule of law had been broken. So yeah, in-character and by lore, Tyr is a fucking moron.

2025-01-22 07:36:08 +0000 UTCpersonally i was pretty disappointed in how little link there was from BG 1&2 to BG 3, even the characters that were included, vicona, jaheira and minsc, all felt like they were optional DLC characters, not like they were main parts of the plot
