January2025 Ranma Poll Response

Howdy, all.  RL was much more filled for me over the past week and a bit as I had to take care of my brother’s pet, and had some car troubles to boot.  Ugh. 

Still, Death’s Avenger, although missing the final two scenes I wanted to show, is done.  Several scenes were longer than I expected, and I showed some aspects of Harry’s new combat styles so far.  Not all his new tricks or abilities, but some.  And the place I cut it off feels natural, so there’s that, too.

My work on editing the next chapter of ATP to be posted on fanfic didn’t go very far due to the aforementioned RL issues, and my ADHD deciding to be particularly difficult. GRAH.  Still, I should finish it by MLK Day.

FILFy is… proceeding… The fight scenes in this are going to be a bit weird to start off with because of the setting, and putting that in took me a full day for just two of the scenes.  That is, beginning of the fight to the END, rather than how it will be read, since I will need to break up the fights up in a way to show the passage of time evenly across the conflict zone.  That, and I wrote up a short WAFFy moment.  But there's still more to do.  Around 15,000, maybe 18,000 more words to write, and another fight scene to rewrite to take into account the setting more than the original version.  Still, I should have it finished and off to the editor by the end of the month. 

(Don’t on it being Grammarlied though…. -_-;)

In other news, I want to thank all of you who participated in the ‘Where you read fanfic’ thread.  It was enlightening. In February, I will be making a push to cross-post more of my fics A03-fanfic.net and will be looking at posting over on Questionable Questing as well.  I was interested to see how many people mentioned QQ, and that several people mention using the fanfic app to read my stories aloud.  That’s a neat feature I also use a lot.   I am not certain of posting on threads like QQ, considering how HUGE some of my chapters are, but we will see. I doubt I will ever go to SV or Space Battles for that reason. Regardless, I would like to bring in more Patrons for, well obvious reasons.

Anyhooo.

This poll was a pretty obvious one going in, although I was surprised that GDWHOM did so well prior to the carry over effect.  I think that’s called a victory bias, LOL. 

Prior to the carry over effect of 1,109 GDHWOM had lagged behind Stallion by only 332 with a score of 1,860 to 2192.

Thus, with the carry-over effect, it wins 2,969 to 2,192. 

This is a good thing, since it means Tomon only has to look at one chapter the rest of this month to help Alex Crate edit the chapter.

Going forward into February, Stallion will get the quarter carry-over effect of 548.  We will see if a WAFF heavy chapter of Effect of a Horse and a Dragon has any chance of bringing in enough votes to even make it a fight.

I will be posting the Patron only poll for February on MLK day.  That way, while FILFy is being edited, I can work on a present for all of you and hopefully have it out by the Super Bowl.  Yes… I can hear your eyes rolling, my fans from around the world. But it is a important Family Time moment for me, and for lots of people across ‘merica.
