December Poll Format Results

Hey Everybody, Happy first of December to everyone.

This means that it’s time to end the December Format poll.  Honestly, I should have finished it on Thanksgiving, but what little free time I had went to Making Waves.  While short, that chapter covers a good deal of what I wanted to cover before the war Against Acnologia, so I’m relatively pleased with it.

I also put up a open-faced question type thread to let everyone give me their opinions on how to bring FILFy and MW to a close faster, and what I should do about it.  I thank everyone who gave me their opinions. I enjoyed seeing how many people like the rotate/carry over effect format and the three polls such as Ranma_Leopard, Aaron Orr and others.  I Also liked seeing how many people were simply supportive of my work.  Thank you Chris Hilton, Jonathan Davis and Southmonk. I also liked seeing people speak up for the stories that rarely get enough love in the polls, like Armando Miranda for Heroes, and MultiverseCosms for both BR and Heroes.  

Mostly, people seemed to like the current format, which is great.  And a lot of people also felt that I should try to push at least one of the finished stories to a conclusion.  I wish I could say that RL would allow me to write four chapters a month as I did until RL decided to start piling onto me, but I don’t see that happening in February at the very least, while this month is… going to be tough. January it is certainly possible, March I can hope, but again, RL is sometimes annoying to predict this far in advance. 

There’s also some other things to consider, but I will wait until the end of January to see if things are better by then. 

Anyway here are the results of the poll.  It might give me a way to, if not satisfy everyone, then satisfy enough people while also pushing forward the two fics closest to completion.  Because the poll results are: 

In last place was ‘Remove one of the two fan-specific polls and add in a Second Patron Poll and let us pick from your story outlines!’ with 76 votes. People reallllly don’t want me to add more teaser chapters to the ones already out there.  Which, as I said, kind of ties into so many people saying I already am juggling too many balls in the air.

While ‘Even hope is better than nothing, how about a poll for the possible fourth story’ came in fourth, rather ironically, with only 136.

A bit better ‘Remove one of the two fan-specific polls and add in a Second Patron Poll for Teaser chapters!’ brought in 304. Again, it seems as fi everyone wants to continue with the stories that are already part of the rotation…

Although, the current monthly format didn’t win the poll, astonishingly.  Several of my larger contributors voted against it, thus, Keep it the way it is now! only came in second, with 1,446.

And finally, ‘Remove one of the two fan-specific polls and update one of the two stories closest to completion.’ garnered a total of 1,536.

So, to decide between the Ranma and HP poll, I went to https://www.calculator.net/random-number-generator.html?slower=1&supper=6&ctype=1&s=1111&x=Generate.  I set the limit from 1-6, and assigned Ranma to 1-3, and HP 4-6. I then did the best two out three.

I put in the hyperlink above, but it didn’t save each specific time I did it, unfortunately. The results, though, means the HP poll is not going to be in the cards this month, although obviously, HP will still be represented in the Patron Only and Update Me polls.

Now, this will impact my choice of which fic to try to write up on my own time at the end of the month. Or… it might.  Depends on who wins the UPDATE ME and the Patron Only polls.  If HP wins both of those, then I will go with a Ranma fic there.  Probably… ehh… we will see.  That’s all for now folks.  You should soon see the Ranma, Patron Only and Update Me polls within the next thirty minutes or so.
