Hiryo Edited Stallion 45

Howdy, all. This is the next chapter of, obviou

Comments

I have no idea how I missed this update. Very interesting read, though you've still got some errors even after the bets read. The most critical one was: 'Aokiji was dead' where you meant to say Akaniu. Sort of important considering everything else. There was also a name swap in the scene with the love square where one combination of kissers was wrong. And Hancock has a broken 'long' instead of a leg. I'm afraid I'm reading on mobile, so those are the only ones I managed to remember.

Novus

Glad you find it useful. I would like to apologize for a mistake, however. There is no known instance of rifles in One Piece, and the revolver that I thought was rifle was used by Mr 5 yet the wiki correctly points out it is still flintlock. Basically useless unless you prep it with six bullets, ready to fire but then you have to load them slowly like normal flintlocks. Unless you have a special ability like Mr 5. Nevertheless, I wonder how that machine gun of Don Krieg works? I know of the Puckle Gun but while it can fire rapidly, it still requires a long reload time. Don Krieg also clearly uses pointed bullets, though those can be custom made or something. Point is, I have no clue if modern bullets (cartridge, primer, gunpowder, and bullet) exist or not, but historically, rifled muskets were around since the 17th century but were very expensive to make. They were still very effective even with musket balls, so there's that. I suppose Aokiji's main focus will be to get all his frontliners up to spar on Geppo. No missing leg day!

I like this a lot. The focus on the front line fighters especially. That's the common sense kind of thing that Aokiji can point out easily. Geppo = target practice in that instance, yep. The issue with the steams ships - that's reactionary thinking on the Gorosei's part. They saw that most of the damage fleet to fleet was done beacuse the enemy was able to create a line of battle that the marines didn't have the necessary ships to match. Will change bonny's age. Thanks! Changed minor to single in terms of Alabasta.

Coby... yeah, he's in for a bad time. his tunnel vision can be explained by the fact his Kenbunshoku was basically filling his head with the screams of his fellow marines.

vimesenthusiast

Thanks. I probably won't show much of that clash, let it happen in the background. But maybe Dragon could make an appearance, hoping to liberate Dressrosa for the Revolutionary army? And yeah, this Luffy, even if he'd somehow been turned into a toy would have had Haoshoku to deal with Sugar.

Still going over the chapter and will edit this comment as I go but for now, a few points to consider regarding the Marine reformation: Transitioning from sail ships to steam ships is extreme and will cause untold difficulties in an ocean world like One Piece. Wind is free and everywhere, while coal takes a lot of space in the hold and not every port can provide it. Not to mention it requires specific ways to store it in order to keep it away from humidity. There's a reason steamships did not gain that much track despite the technology being around for nearly 300 years. Only when oil became abundant did that change and even then, fleets could not cover the same amount of territory they could do without refueling bases, as we saw in WW1 and WW2. It would be much better for the Marines to focus on the front line foot soldiers. We know rifles and revolvers exist in South Blue since the Little Garden arc. Why are the Marines still using flintlocks and smoothbore cannons then? The same reason why military-grade weapons irl suck compared to civilian grade; economy of scale. Instead of expensive cyborgs (It is stated that a single Pacifista cost the same amount as a warship to build) Aokiji would be better suited to invest in better guns and bullets. I liked the reason why Shiki could not be the new captain of the Whitebeard pirates. Historically, when a captain dies, it's normal for the crew to elect a new one. Most of the time, it would be an outsider so as not to create friction with internal forces. Shiki, however, really is weakened and would be better suited as an ally rather than their leader. His devil fruit ability is just insanely useful, he could literally float islands in the skies indefinitely; the marines have no way at all of flying to them, aside from Geppo which is highly impractical. Bonny is ten years old. The wiki states she's 12, but you have to keep in mind that the wiki is up to date with the manga; meaning you have to take the two year timeskip into account. I will edit this comment as I finish the chapter, but I have to go to work soon. Curse my slow reading speed, I literally write my stories faster than I read lmao. Edit: not much to add aside from claiming that Arabasta is a minor nation. I'm pretty sure it's stated it was a rich and big nation, especially as it had multiple cities and could potentially field an army a million strong. If we go with the old ratio of 2-3% military to civilian population, that means their population is at least 50 million. Pretty darn significant. As for their perceived weakness, well, this was the arc that Zoan fruits were first introduced and Oda had planned for the story to end with Crocodile as the only villain. Naturally, the power creep affected them the most.

Great work on the chapter! I agree, it is a bit sad Morgan's interview and Hina's perspective couldn't be fit into this mega reaction chapter, but it couldn't be helped. Coby's in for a rough time, as are whomever is dumb enough to be in Garp's way now that he's teamed up with that no-good son of his. I noticed little in the way of typos this chapter, after the other comments, all that I can note rn are swapping a few names around, like North and South on the Blues.

I can’t wait for Morgan’s big scoop to shake up the world even more! I do hope that Hina is able to join the Straw Hat/Kuja Alliance. I’m also concerned about Coby getting interviewed about his past with Luffy and possibly revealing his curse. Kinda surprised how he’s focusing only on Luffy murdering marines and not what caused such an attack in the first place (along with having his mentor Garp go rogue, that should have been a big red flag!). As always, this story has been a blast and I need to reread it again to refresh everything. Thank you!!

Flbiv

God damn Newgate, what a fucking hell of a dude. If I SI'd into One Piece, would definitely wanna join his crew.

Orchamus

Amazing chapter and while there are a few things I would have liked to have been included; luffy and ace's intial call, a breif check in with Hina, or the silent kings reaction to losing a Goresi just to name a few. However I can completely understand that the chapter is already gigantic and we will be dealing with the ripples of this WOTB for many chapters to come if not the entire rest of the series. Overall a grand attempt to capture the scope of the repercussions to the world from such a monumental event.

Cormag81

Very nice seeing all the reactions and decisions being made. Did notice you had a typo with Aokiji being dead instead of Akainu when listing off the dead/injured marines.

DemonRight27

I have some thoughts regarding the Whitebeard crew's plans for Doflamingo. I think I have somewhat of a different mindset from most people when it comes to Sugar's powers. Conqueror's Haki is all about enforcing one's will upon others and refusing to be subjugated to others. By that logic, Conqeror's should be a hard counter to her powers. In my personal headcanon, Luffy would have been able to knock Sugar out had he been turned into a toy. I was actually kind of hoping to see something like that play out. Unfortunately, I don't believe the remaining commanders have Conqeror's and I doubt they would have the same ridiculous amount of luck we saw in canon. With that being said, they're definitely all capable of summoning enough armament to hopefully negate her powers or just killing her from a distance where it shouldn't be an issue, provided they know about her beforehand. Great chapter by the way.

Aragorn93

Thanks for spotting it, will correct.

vimesenthusiast

That's gonna be the main scene in the next chapter.

vimesenthusiast

Love the chapter and the perspectives showing the fall out of the WOTB. I'm disappointed we didn't get Luffy's interview with Morgan and the world's reaction to it yet however.

IgnisHeart

When Tsuru is reporting its said aokiji is dead by Hancock but I believe this is meant to be akainu
