November2024 Patron Poll Results

It isn't the full chapter I initially wanted, as I decided to have the 'winter campaign' so to speak be a whole chapter, tie up a few loose ends, and have Imoen and the others show off a bit, before we get back to BG1's canon plot line.
Stallion is still in Hiryo and Tomon's hands. Tomon should hopefully have it back to me in time for Thanksgiving. That's an American holiday for those of you from abroad on the 28th. Think of it as a day to eat turkey and watch sports, LOL.
Anyway, with all that out of the way, it's time to shut down the Patron Only Poll. And that only a day later than I expected. Blame the need for formatting and Khalid's stutter.
The results of this poll are:
Last place, King of Champions. 1,108. I honestly expected the romance aspect of this story to make it more popular than the world building of Death's Avenger, but this is pretty normal for how a split HP fandom poll goes.
Because I voted for it, Heroes of the High Seas came in second place, with 1,295. *Sigh*. Still, i have plans for this and for some of my other, less popular fics that i am still thinking about.
(As an aside, I have seen all the responses to my Future Planning thread and the December Format poll thread. I am happy to see that most people are happy with the current format, but I still want to end MW and FILFy)
And obviously, the above means that Death's Avenger has won. It brought in 1,805.
I will warn you guys, though: I am going to cut that chapter off if it goes above 25,000 words. That way, I may be able to finish a Making Waves chapter even though the family is going to be arriving for Thanksgiving. Cursed extroverts. Worse, Tomon isn't going to be able to look the chapter over for me. I'm thinking right now I might be able to send him the outline, but since he hasn't finished going over Stallion, even that might be impossible. So the quality of the WoW knowledge might be lacking.

I'd love to write it on a more regular schedule. But at this point, I also want to finish Making Waves and FILFy. I have seen everyone's response to the recent 'future planning' poll, and most people don't seem to want to change things. With those two points in mind, I can't see myself using authorial fiat on Heroes just now. Maybe when MW is done. I am going to try to get two chapters of MW out in the next two months, which will bring us within a chapter or two at most of closing that story.

2024-11-19 18:01:50 +0000 UTCYou mean to bring in new patrons? Hmmm... maybe? I will be trying to spend a few hours every sunday from now on cross posting from fanfic to AO3, so hopefully that will bring in more patrons who might be willing ot look into My Hero Academia stuff.

2024-11-19 17:58:34 +0000 UTCMight be time to diversify. Royal Road wouldn't work, but maybe Questionable Questing would. Fanfic is quite popular over there. And I know of a few FFN writers that cross post there like Dogbert.

2024-11-18 06:50:59 +0000 UTCHP-'s quite correct here. It's never really done very well in the polls. I thought that putting it over on AO3 would bring in more MHA fans, but it didn't. I may start putting on more of my fics over there during Thanksgiving weekend (easier to do than writing while family is around) but honestly, I don't see that bringing in more fans.
