2024 October Patron Only Poll

Good Afternoon... where I am anyway.  Good could also be debatable due to weather and that this is the last moment I will have free before family arrives to watch football (I love them, but damn it people, I am in introvert, let me have my space!) I will be posting this now.

I… may have time to update an old story outline of mine. That’s pretty much going to be it. 

In FILFy news. I flubbed up.  I now have significant portions of three different chapters done.  Not because I forgot or didn’t have my outline with me.  Initially, those three parts would all have been in one chapter, including a fight which would lead to a wake up call for a certain Indian god.   But I neglected to remember the one thing that I have made a point of doing in all of my fics: not making the villains suddenly become idiots.  When I saw that, I knew I could not go forward with that timeline as I had written it out, and further, oh, wait, there are several sets of villains! UGH.

So I realized that I need to push one major portion of the chapter back, and then bring forward another, and then shift the final conflict forward a bit before having the recovery chapter being much larger and also bringing in a spattering of more conflict!  UGH. 

This is what happens when you do a chapter for one story in bits and dribbles but have to interrupt work on it several times to work on other projects. I am just… really thankful that my other projects didn’t suffer in turn. 

Thanks as always for everyone who gives their opinions on my questions, including the latest ones, and my editors.  Just occasionally bouncing ideas off you all helps immensely.  So I will try to get a chapter of FILFy out this month, but I won’t finish work on it until Thursday at the earliest.  And then it will be off to the editor.

In other news, Tomon has said he will get Heroes to me today or tomorrow, so you all will see it by tomorrow night!

This is the Patron Only poll.  The HP and Ranma polls will be up tomorrow or Tuesday.  This poll will go to the eighth.  That will give me enough time to finish FILFy, and then outline the Magic and Stallion chapters.

The choices this month are:

Death’s Avenger – HP/WoW crossover: With the spirit of their Order restored, life in Trueshot Lodge turns for the better, with Harry and his friends hammering out a semi-schedule for his time going forward so he can help the Order and learn what the Unseen Path has to teach at the same time.  This results in a small argument about which branch he is most suited for and the first of many real arguments with his current paramour on what he’s spending his time on.  Days turn into weeks turn into months turn into decades as Harry loses himself in learning, training and growing and Tyrande’s companion Shy-Rotam becomes a queen, bringing the frostsabers into alliance with the Kaldorei.  A minor incursion of kobolds provides a bit of excitement, as does the return of the draconic Cartographer, but in the main, Harry’s time is peaceful until after he makes the jump from Oathkeeper to Seeker.  Armed with several new spells, new gadgets and more, Harry and his chosen companions embark on a journey to the southern shores of Kalimdor, hoping to solve his issue with bonding with Air Elementals, a journey that does not start auspiciously…

Climbing Together – Ranma/StreetFighter/KoF crossover: Ranma proves suspiciously adept at finding the underground fight scene, whereupon he and Ryu get to see one another in action while Mai and Shampoo fight (literally) for equality of the sexes.  Meanwhile, Ken makes some wagers, followed by Shampoo needing to beat a creep.  Elsewhere, their new acquaintance gets into some trouble, only to be helped by the mightiest thighs in all of China.  Mai and Ranma accidentally have a moment while Ryu has a fight in the ring. Eventually after several such, Ranma finds that the local criminal boss they are here to find dirt on is very much a hands on fellow.  The others search, Ken takes pictures of various locals and Ryu finds a new martial art he wants to learn.  Shampoo and Mai deal with bodyguards who really aren’t before calling in Chun Li, only too late for many of Ranma’s bones. After the worst beating of his life against a man who is all instinct, no style, Ranma has an epiphany, while Chun Li finds far more evidence than she needed, Mai has a revelation, and Shampoo agrees to become a stunt actress.

King of Champions – HP/RWBY crossover: Adam and the White Fang prepare in the shadows, while Cinder and Mercury meet with ‘that crazy bastard’ and move to Vale ahead of schedule. Unfortunately for the teens, the White Fang issue looms large as a bit of careful computer work ends Blake some information she feels she must act on. Meanwhile more Faunus type issues come to roost in Evig Låga. Harry and Pyrrha also deal with her parents suddenly showing up, much to her horror and his amusement. Harry and Tia follow a black cat, get into trouble, and smash a very large robot, while Arturia is forced to deal with a sudden bout of daggers in the back.  Team RY get involved in Arturia’s issue, while Weiss gets into the larger battle that springs up in the center of Vale, much to the charging of both Ozpin and Cinder. Cinder is forced to cut her loses (AGAIN) although not nearly as much, and Roman is very annoyed. As Ozpin deals with some political fallout, Adam launches an infiltration of Beacon, and Weiss comes face to face with one of her greatest nightmares.

Climbing Together will be getting the carry over effect of 778 votes. If it can’t win when the opposition (LOL) is divided, then That would be really sad.  I… don’t know what I will vote for. Either Climbing or Bhaalson.  I’m kind of in the mood for some kung fu fighting and romance.  But Bhaalson’s gone even longer without being updated than Climbing… hmm… We will see.
