A few future-type Announcements and Questions
Added 2024-05-22 15:46:58 +0000 UTCHey all. Have a few questions and a few small announcements.
So, if any of you bother to look over on my fanfic profile, you will have seen a new poll replaced the Ranma one there. I wanted to see how my non-patron fans out there felt about which HP story they would like me to finish over there: FILFy or ATP. Since you all already have access to the unedited/revamped version of the last few ATP chapters, I didn’t post it here, figuring that it would be silly to ask such a question. So far, FILFy is winning but frankly the poll isn’t getting the amount of interest I thought it would at all. Whatever.
With that though, I have decided to announce that, after MW and FILFy are finished, I will take one to two months to organize my full length fic outlines and fic stuff, and work on finishing ATP before going back to four chapters a month. That way, those fans of ATP who aren’t willing to become a patron can have some closure. I have already done some work in that area – added to the Jean/Thanos fight and the Harry/Thanos fight a bit – but there still needs a lot of work done there.
At that point, we will have to see what happens. It is a certain fact though that A Journey Gone Astray, my Ranma/DC cross, will come back in at that point. So there would be two Ranma fics, and two HP fics for here on Patreon. Although I honestly think that three is the best number for a good poll rotation, but then I do have a lot of one-shots I could build on… so if I go back to the idea of 2:2 polls, two polls per fanfic then what… hmmm… anyway. Lots of thinking to do, all of it based on finishing those two fics.
Now on to the questions. First a few Patreon questions.
1. The first I might put up as a poll at some point: How many people read the chapters I post here online, rather than download one of the two versions? I am rather ANNOYED by how much of the font/style type changes don’t carry over. For most of my stories it’s just a minor annoyance, but it definitely takes away something from Bhaalson.
2. Are there any other file types any of you would like to see? I wouldn’t be willing to do a audio portion myself, but I might be able to find a program that would simply read the work and then upload that if people want it.
3. How many people use the collections rather than the tags? I am wondering if the collections are helpful and if I should do more with them.
4. The community tab – where all of you could post threads - is gone as far as I can tell, replaced by a chat tab that is set in the communication sidebar. Would you all be interested in my creating fic specific discussions there? I tried to do something similar with threads before and it didn’t really go anywhere, but I thought I would ask.
This is a random question about fanfic: is anyone else having Cloudflare issues there? It seems entirely random, but for some reason I cannot access several fanfic stories. I’m able to access a few of my stories and the profile. But when I go to new stories the Cloudflare page pops up asking if I’m human and refusing to accept that I am LOL. I use Nord VPN, and it seems to be the cause of the trouble, but I dislike the idea of not using it, and this is the first time I’ve had issues with Cloudflare because of it rather than the page just not loading.
Fate Touched:
1. I have a few questions specific to the next arc here. First, how many people are interested in seeing a dwarven wedding, and how long do you think the courtship between Oakenshield and Redring should go on? I am thinking a few years, but would be interested to see if people think that is too long even for dwarves, or if they should go on even longer. I am also interested to see if people would be interested in seeing a flashback to the wedding.
2. Similarly, how interested would people be in reading a scene centered around Harry and the rune scribes learning from one another? I am essentially asking if you want to see the process as well as the finished product, or just the finished product so we can more easily timeskip in this last chapter.
3. This is a more open question. As the latest chapter summary in the poll might have indicated, I will be having Harry and Tauriel travel for a time in the company of dwarves and into the Stonefoot tribe’s territory. I am wondering how people have enjoyed my attempting to breathe life into the various dwarven houses, and if any of you have suggestions/things you would like to see enhanced or just introduced.
Stallion:
1. I have been having second thoughts about a few things that will occur at or near the end of the current arc. First, should Hina live? It feels like I am kind of going out of my way to kill off a lot of the so-called bad marines and call it coincidence, and I don’t like that. Having the fleeing Hina and a few others who are more for actual justice die near the end of the arc could offset that.
2. What should the revolutionary army be doing while this arc is going on? I hinted at some things, but I am… reconsidering some. Again, this falls under the idea of things going too well for the good guys, but I would be interested to see what sort of trouble people think Dragon and Sabo should be getting up to?
3. This is a question for those who have seen the Movie Strong World. Given Shiki’s personality there and in this fic so far, can you see him agreeing to ally with Luffy after the war if he lives?
That's it for now, guys and girls. Thanks as always for sharing your opinions. And if there are any oneshots you might want me to reintroduce/follow up on in the future, now might be a good time to say. Now or when MW and FILFy are finished.
Comments
Aww about replacing the Ranma poll, though, If you put up there A Journey Gone Astray, that’s understandable. Oh nice MW outline is done, so that can go faster there. ^ Patreon question: 1.) I honestly don’t read the story online, only offline via docx and pdf. For beta and archive reasons I save the chapters from ff.net and AO3 too. 2.) For me I’m more than happy with the most important file type docx and my 2nd most important one pdf! 3.) Collections, I got introduced by a novel translator to these and these are very neat! Since they are always more easily found than tags. Sometimes tags are better, depends how many and consistent one uses tags. On top of too many results with tags can be overwhelming. 4.) Hmm unsure about that one. Random ff.net issue: Don’t have Cloudflare issue, due no VPN issue there. However, since a month I do not get notifications alerts anymore. T.T Stallion: 1.) Answering you per Email that one. 2.) With this huge battle, lots of things changes and thus the Revolutionary need to adapt their plans. Most likely wanting Luffy and crew aid them with their plans. 3.) Sadly didn’t see that one.

2024-05-27 09:08:09 +0000 UTCHina was a planned love interest at the beginning. The story didn’t go that way. Vivi is now the planned third lady in the future pirate kings life.

2024-05-25 13:44:14 +0000 UTCAlso I hope you don’t just make things worse to make things worse, drama for drama. I was getting the impression that hina would be a love interest going forward so hope she doesn’t die “so it’s not all bad guys dying” considering most of the fight is 75%25% bad to good guys to me it comes across as the world getting less dark.

2024-05-25 02:32:12 +0000 UTCI use the spoken content feature in iPhone to screen read and if a page has to much junk in it it lags out and can pause for minutes at a time while it catches up. I found out about epub files being accessible to kindle app and I use that to read fics when I can. But I’ve been using the fanfic app due to it having a read aloud feature and not have to do one chapter at a time

2024-05-25 02:27:06 +0000 UTCPatreon questions: 1. I do a lot of reading on my phone instead of my computer. That's probably not the best, but whatever. On the phone app, I don't think there's a way of accessing the PDF without scrolling through the story first, which takes a while. If I'm on my phone, I'll usually just read through the story as is. What's also annoying is that the app doesn't separate the pages, so if I have to exit the app, I lose my spot. I'll probably make an effort to use my computer more. 2. I might be willing to do sort of an audiobook version. I do a lot of driving, so I'm always looking for stuff to listen to. 3. I used the collections when I first started reading your stories so I could get caught up. At this point, with a few exceptions, I've read all your stories, so I don't have a reason to use them. 4. I would definitely be interested in fic specific discussions, because I'll sometimes think about feedback for a chapter after it's been out for a bit, so you probably are already working on other things and don't have time to read the comments. This way I don't have to worry about commenting immediately after a chapter comes out. 5. I don't know what Cloudflare is so I have no issues with it. Fate Touched: 1. I don't really have an opinion here. A couple years is good, I guess. A flashback might also be good. 2. I don't really care too much about the learning process. I do want to move closer to the Fellowship timeframe. I feel like you're going to be a lot more cautious than canon for any potential Moria trip as well. 3. Again, I don't really have an opinion. If you want to give the dwarven houses more time, then go for it. Stallion: 1. I've been mainly thinking about this question the last couple days. I would like to see Hina live. As far as off-setting the good vs. bad marines dying, I'm going to come at it from a different angle. I have been thinking you would have Garp die at the end of the arc, essentially taking Ace's spot as the person close to Luffy that dies. Maybe have Peter kill him. He does have plans to visit Vegapunk, but I thought that was you throwing people off. You might have a point about killing off too many of the bad characters and not enough good ones, but as of right now, I don't think any named Marines have died at all. (unless you're talking about the story as a whole. In which case, you did kill off Drake. I think he still counts as a marine.) The only characters I remember being specified as dying are White beard commanders, Namur in particular (he's actually the only one I remember, but there might have been others). 2. I don't have any input here, but I'm interested to see what you come up with for the revolutionaries. 3. I have not seen Strong World yet, despite having it on my Netflix favorites list ever since I noticed it about three months ago. Sorry about getting this response out so much later than the post. I had to do it on my computer while reading the questions on my phone.

2024-05-24 22:40:57 +0000 UTCFirst a few Patreon questions. 1. I honestly do not read them on Patreon and instead download the PDF to read at my leisure. The reason for this is that I read everything off of my phone and the moment I switch to a different app and come back to Patreon then it immediately starts me at the home page. 2. When it comes to the collections and tags, I have a tendency to use both depending on what it is I am looking for. Fate Touched: 1. I personally would want to see the wedding and think that having Harry there would be important. I do not know how it would differ from a human wedding but by this point it sometimes feel as if Harry would be Thorin`s best man if this was a human wedding. Beyond that this wedding would be something where a lot of important dwarves, elves and humans would be meeting which is again important to the world. I do agree that it would take a few years considering their natures but would definitely be smaller then if they were elves. But at the same time, it might be better to be shorter considering the politics at play and working to cement Thorin`s claim and a potential successor. 2. For the most part I do not want to see everything when it comes to Harry and the scribes learning from one another but it would be interesting to see Harry learning how to inscribe metal like the dwarves before skipping to the finished product. 3. It would honestly be interesting to see if there are any dwarven houses that specialize in tracking or hunting. I am thinking that if Harry and Tauriel have to hunt something that lives in the dark underground that kind of skill and knowledge would be very useful. There is also the idea that maybe there is a clan that focuses on lore and history in a way that the other houses have not and could hint at things that have not be found or lost and forgotten. Stallion: 1. I personally want Hina to live because I like the way that you have developed her as a character and it would be interesting to see what will happen in the future. Especially as it seems more as if Hina is about to turn coat and leave the marines then she is to stay considering her interaction with Luffy on Skypiea. I do not know enough of the marines to really know who the bad and good and I feel as if it is more shades of grey than being actually bad. They just take the mandates of justice and what it means to the extreme and without compromise. 2. Considering how the Revolutionary army operates and with different cells I think it would be very interesting if there was a spy in the marines who was left behind at Marineford or Enies Lobby and is now using this opportunity to go through offices and confidential documents. 3. If he lives is the big question. Truthfully, I can see Shiki recognizing Luffy as someone that could become the Pirate King. If he survives then I could see him allying with Luffy and if he was looking for a place to settle and recover, he could look after Alabastra for him. However, considering his personality and the fight that is about to happen with all of the admirals, Sengoku, Kong, and Peter, I find it more likely that he takes a blow meant for Luffy or Whitebeard. Dying in battle strikes me more with the way that Shiki would like to end it but asking the surviving Whitebeard crew members and Luffy to look after the rest of his crew.

2024-05-23 23:40:59 +0000 UTCI usually download the .pdf so I can magnify the font. I use collections and tags intermittently so both are fine according to your preferences. Cloudflare is Ass whether you are accessing with a VPN or not. I've become benumbed to its BS. FT: 1. Do the wedding. It's one of the most efficient ways to show the differences in culture between dwarves, elves, humans, and hobbits. Drawing out a courtship between Thorin and his dame would be awkward because we as readers tend to receive most of the information from Harry's perspective. This isn't The Red book of Westmarch where you have Two main collectors (Bilbo and Frodo) from multiple perspectives (Bilbo, Frodo, Merry, Pippin, Sam, Aragorn, Gimli, Legolas) contributing to the whole of the story. Give it a real feel of this being relayed from Harry with only short non-intimate bits relayed by characters outside Harry and Tauriel into the plot. This is why Flashbacks no matter how they are done, suck. Avoid and abandon. Weave the story so the transition smoothly goes into preparing the Kingdom of Erebor to receive allied Dwarves, Elves, and Men for attending the wedding of the Monarch. 2. I would say as long as some point that is truly significant to the plot later on comes out from having a scene than do it. If not, then don't. 3. Harry and Tauriel's journey is what the story is really about. As Harry and Tauriel interact with characters the point is to show us what we would have the opportunity to see from their perspective. So seeing them travel with the Stonefoot tribe and getting a small taste of the Stonefoot's culture can be a part, but it should not take up print that could be more effectively spent on the two primary characters. Stallion: 1. If you are going to kill Hina do it in a way that at least lets her go out with a bang. Crowning Moments of Awesome are made for this. If you are going to pull a canon Sabo moment where you lead the readers to believe she is dead, but is in fact alive, don't do the CMoA. Payoff is the key. 2. Considering you killed off the best Revolutionary and one of the Best Dads in One Piece by taking out Kuma having shenanigans come about as a ripple on the RA would be fine.

2024-05-23 17:19:25 +0000 UTCIt has nothing to do with choice or any5ing like that. Dwarves are simply not fertile as much as humans. Worse, their male female ratio is like five to one or worse. They literally cannot rebuild their numbers like you think. What Thorin might do is incentivize immigration.

2024-05-23 13:52:10 +0000 UTCPatreon Questions: 1. I read whatever I can online, and download after I've finished reading so that I can put it in a folder with all the associated chapters. 2. I'm not affected, but a "dot"txt file or similar universal file for anyone who might have issues maybe? 3. I use collections on the people I follow as much as humanly possible. For the love of all the OCD, please use collections (and tags if you feel the need to on top of it). 4. Your call. For "Fate" I don't have much input as I am sorely behind / forgotten so much LoTR info, that your work is essentially filling in all the gaps as you go. For Stallion 1. Keep Hina alive. A good person on the side of the Marines adds more personal drama / intrigue when Admirals etc start giving marching orders. Too many shows etc I've seen kill off the sympathetic people in the bad guy camp just to further emphasize the "bad guy" part of the equation. 2. Setting up bases in the East Blue and doing some spycraft work on the Red Line forward? I'm out of my element since I lost track of One Piece (the anime and manga) at the time-skip separation bit. 3. Cough gonna "find" a way to see it and come back with an answer cough.

2024-05-23 11:12:24 +0000 UTCI can see them doing the baby boom thing if they believed it necessary to rebuild their numbers to be able to defend their holdings. Look at it strategically. Or it could even be something Harry talks about his old world and it could give the dwarves the idea and see the tactical/strategic value in rebuilding their numbers as quickly as they reasonably can - particularly since they know Sauron is rebuilding in Mordor preparing to strike out at the world again and the dwarves are at a disadvantage with the speed at which goblins can replace their numbers.

2024-05-23 04:49:54 +0000 UTCI like journey Gone Astray, but I’d also be interested in seeing Sword Bow and Horse Return. Patreon Questions 1. I always read the word documents. 2. Not for me. 3. I don’t use the tags, but that might be because I read as you post. I think that they’re probably helpful for new readers. 4. I personally wouldn’t be that interested. 5. Cloudflare hasn’t been an issue for me. Fate Touched 1. The political implications behind the marriage interest me, but the wedding itself doesn’t really. I wouldn’t want to devote a lot of time to that. 2. I’m more interested in the finished product. The only reason to go into detail would be for character development if one the rune scribes was going to become a bigger character down the line. 3. I really like the way you’ve been differentiating the different tribes. Stallion 1. The real question is what you would do with her if she lives. The last chapter made it sound like the higher ups wouldn’t allow her to remain a marine, so what would she do? Having her join the crew could be interesting, but that would obviously be a huge decision for you. 2. It never made sense to me that the revolutionary army wouldn’t act in some way during the canon paramount war (for all we know they could have). I figure they would take this opportunity to help out certain countries where the local marines were pulled away. 3. I have trouble seeing it honestly. He strikes me as an egomaniac, and officially allying with a rookie, no matter how powerful, seems out of character. At least doing so officially. Unofficially, maybe they could come to some kind of understanding though.

Stallion 1... maybe I should have waited for this latest to be out before askign this one. Meh, too late now. No, Vivi is already working with Hancock. 2. 2024-05-23 02:13:46 +0000 UTC1 - dwarves aren't very fertile at the best of times. a few years won't matter one way or the other. They don't do the whole baby boom thing. 2. Okay. 3. 2024-05-23 01:57:30 +0000 UTCI personally use the app to read updates, I had no clue we could download anything. Regarding collections, I use them especially when I want to reread the whole work and don't want to jump around. I would love to see a dwarven wedding, as for the courtship itself, well maybe it will be faster than usual, but only by using the shortest length of 'x' where courtships are normally 'x to y' and far more often closer to 'y', to have them try for a direct heir sooner and it's mentioned that they acknowledge the speed and necessity. As someone who has dabbled in runes, I'd love to have a bit more in depth lore in the learning, but would be totally okay with just skipping if that's the majority opinion.

2024-05-22 23:29:58 +0000 UTCPatreon questions: 1. I read most chapters in the app/website when the update is below the 5K word count, and try to download when it's over that line, that way I don't get lost if for any motive I had to stop reading in the middle. 2. epub. Sometimes pdf are not flexible enough. 3. It's a nice option, but not something I'd consider a "must" 4. More community interactions are always good! Well, save when the author gets too into pleasing their audience, then it's bad, but I don't think that would be a problem for you. Fanfiction: The problem is the VPN themselves, Cloud have a huge hateboner for any of them :/ Fate Touched: 1. I'm actually interesting on how you're gonna kept fleshing out dwarven culture, so I'm all for see some of those details! Tho' yeah, I can see a normal courting lasting some years, maybe in the range of 5 years, but not longer than 10, why? "'cause we aren't bloody elves always taking an eternity to even shave their hairless faces! That's why, lad!!" 2. I'm a sucker for that kind of interaction, so once again, I'm all for it! Plus, it's fertile ground for some foreshadowing. 3. Worldbuilding go brr!! All my yes. Stallion: 1. I think she should live, but with some serious injuries, at least an arm or a leg blasted out, enough to take her out of any battlefield until she recover and train her ass to Luffy's standards. I like the idea that WaskeHD proposed, a Vivi Hina team-up sounds interesting!! Hina could be a good right-hand woman for the princess. 2. That's one of the things that really annoyed me from the canon arc, how little did the RA did while whole clusterfuck was happening. While I don't think it'd be smart for Dragon going full invasion (since mustering the RA into an actual army would take time), they should be able to go full guerrilla and strike hard at several targets that normally wouldn't even consider touching, 'cause it would be too noisy and bring too much heat over their operations. But right now is the perfect time to mess up with lots of petty kings, liberate nations under the thumb of the tyrants (WG or pirates) and go after some of the worst Marine operations. Hell, it's the perfect time to attack any Cipher Poll operation they know about, since the chance they'll get any backup is pretty low. 3. Only in the short-term. He's just too set on his ways and the only reason his alliance with Whitebeard is working is 'cause there's history and respect between them. Now, if something like canon happen and Newgate proclaim his faith on Luffy... then I cooouuuld maaaaybe see Shiki willing to act as some sort of aloof mentor/distant ally, but no much more than that. He would still backstab Luffy and the crew if they spend too much time with him.

2024-05-22 21:52:02 +0000 UTC1. I read most of your stories through ffnet (though I very rarely have issues with cloudflare and they clear up) but the patreon only stories I do download as the phone app for patreon can’t seem to handle the length and either backs out of the post or outright crashes. I use the pdf file with adobe acrobat. 2. I personally use the collections for the stories I read on here. Not a huge fam of tags. As for fate touched, I have no real opinion on the courtship though I would be interested in seeing what you come up with for a dwarven wedding. I would also be interested in a scene with the process of rune smithing. Your worldbuilding is fascinating, though it does occasionally get a bit much at a time (hasn’t in FT yet).

2024-05-22 20:14:16 +0000 UTCA lack of votes in your polls could be both good and bad. For example, I generally don't vote in polls where I like none of the fics but I also generally don't vote on polls where I like all of the fics in the poll and would be happy with any of them. I both download them for my fanfiction library on here and read them on FF.net or here, its kind of random. I dislike audio books because I am able to become more immersed reading myself rather than listening to someone else. Fate Touched: 1) I'd like to see the wedding but it doesn't have to be a large and elaborate section but rather highlights. I think given how dwarven wives/husbands are chosen, I think a few years at most would be a right amount of time before the wedding normally, but, if the dwarves are in more of a population crisis (which I think they are at this point given the losses they've suffered since originally losing the Lonely Mountain and Moria as they have) I could see them shortening that down to a year or two at most and a desire for more children than would otherwise be the norm. Life generally seeks to reproduce quickly if possible after disasters and that is proven even among sentient species like humans in RL. Baby booms have happened repeatedly after world wars and mass disasters throughout history. 2) I'd enjoy seeing a bit of Harry learning and teaching runes and what they come up with for combining both styles but again it could be done with mostly highlights and time skips if you don't want to get down to the nitty gritty. This is really more a question of how detailed you want to get and honestly I'd be happy either way if you wanted to go more in depth or just focus on highlights. 3) I'm fine if you want to go a little more into some of the more important dwarven houses but please for the love of God do not go into long-ass lineages as Tolkien was wont to do. It made things overly verbose and frankly boring reading paragraphs of 'son of...' as he recited the lineages. While I understand his reasoning as that is important to dwarves I found it to more bog things down and could have been better handled using appendices of more detailed information added to the backs of his books.

Although, even if SHE dies, who's to say that some of her crew can't carry on in her name. Use her as a martyr. Like that iron knuckles guy? Her death would certainly motivate him to up his training, especially if there's guilt over his own weakness playing into it. Stallion 2: I do agree that them trying to usurp some of the islands who aren't WG friendly makes sense. But that doesn't mean that they succeed...

2024-05-22 18:58:08 +0000 UTCI'm personally super attached to Hina. I thoroughly enjoy the whole "getting rewarded for asking the right questions" plot armour but that is entirely a small fanfic fetish I have, do I see her getting out of there alive? It depends entirely on where she ends up. I could see her living if she somehow ended up the same place as Vivi on the battlefield I'm unsure where she is at the end of the last chapter and I don't actually have a decent idea of the separate placements. I don't know why but I could definitely see Hina become the 2nd/3rd? ship leader with Vivi after this clusterfuck of a fight. I don't think Vivi likes Hancock enough to travel with her and I don't see how she won't be wanted after this battle so unless you plan for the Desert princess to bite the dust or make her a part of the straw hats (which I personally don't like) then I would enjoy seeing Hina and Vivi being Captain and Vice Captain on a third crew. Maybe it's been too long since I've read the manga but I don't remember the names of any Marine who isn't the Admirals, Sengoku, Kong, Garp, Coby, Zephyr, Helmeppo, Smokey and Tashigi and then Hina + Fullbody and Django. The rest I'm like sure that's probably what their names are but you could have called someone Captain Goody two-shoes and I would have probably not been thrown off by that. I dunno but the Marines didn't usually have enough personality for me to remember them at all when I read the manga. What I'm trying to say is that I didn't even notice that it was people from the Absolute Justice System who were getting bodied, they were just faceless Marines with names that were getting bodied and I wouldn't have been able to tell their preference for asskissing during the battle either way so it didn't register to me. My headcanon is that there will always be a different asshole to replace them even if they die in this battle.

2024-05-22 18:12:12 +0000 UTCfor question three, going just off of Strong World? they basically won't get along, as Shiki won't fight under someone unless basically forced to via brute strength, and has a bit too much arrogance, and arguably even too much senility, to make for a good long term ally. he also has ambitions that are of the sort that are not good for long term relationships, and very much does not care about his crew, even as he occasionally says that he does care about them, which makes it even worse than if he simply didn't care and was blunt about said lack of care.

2024-05-22 17:55:10 +0000 UTCyea, the world itself will be shifting in the aftermath; Imu's actions in the aftermath are amongst those with the potential for vast amounts of destruction though, as through him act the other four elders, and through them act the Marines, almost regardless of what said marines actually think about the whole situation. and if the Marines, up to including several of the Admirals rebel? that's what his Knights, of which at least four them have Devil Fruits on the same general level as Kaido and Kuma, and at least one of them has Haki and swordsmanship on at least the level of Shanks, are for.

2024-05-22 17:49:26 +0000 UTCI honestly love the collections tab. I constantly use it as it makes it easier for me to get the fics if I haven't downloaded it yet. Regarding fanfic cloudflare , yeah I get the same thing but unfortunately the fanfiction email alerts are broken for me and I have to constantly go into my profile and click the checkbox even after doing all their steps as well as changing the email account to a different one and back as it still gets the rejected checkbox thingie. Fate Touched: 1. Id honestly love to read about the dwarven wedding. I love how you have fleshed them out. 2. I always love reading about the process and couldnt be more happier to read about it. 3. I've definitely been enjoying you breathing life into the various dwarven houses. Id definitely be interested in the fic specific discussions in the chat tab but not sure how active I'd be on it. I'm just as fine with using the comments section on the chapter

2024-05-22 17:47:08 +0000 UTCAs someone who recently found you I would love to see more collections going forward because it's easier to find where to come in at when I switch from reading on ffn to here.

2024-05-22 17:36:24 +0000 UTCFor the Patreon question: 1) I prefer reading the work here as it is convenient to use the text to speech function 2) the basic read aloud function works for me, and I don't usually download your stuff 3) I use the collection cause its easier than sorting through all your other fics associated with the tag 4) I would be interested in it if it was like a quest line where we give suggestions vote on the top choice roll dice to see how effective our decisions effects the story much like some of the fics you'd find on fanfic.live

2024-05-22 17:12:02 +0000 UTCOn three - before you rant, not I didn't say one way or the other my own thoughts on that question LOL. And as for the aftermath of this war... you are thinking too small... LOL... Heheheh.

2024-05-22 17:05:13 +0000 UTCFor the patreon questions: 1: I download the story every time since I never have the time to read your chapters in a single sitting. 2: I'm fine with just PDF files. 3: I tend to use both interchangeably. 4: Personally I like to just read your stories without preconceptions that chats like that would give me so Inwould just stay away from them anyway.

2024-05-22 17:02:29 +0000 UTCI sort of think the same about Hina's death, but I also am getting a very 'the outcome is muddied but very clearly in the good guy's favor far too much' kind of vibe. Killing Hina was just one idea.

2024-05-22 16:49:28 +0000 UTCFate Touched 1: Yeah, a dwarwen weeding could be interesting. I think a normal dwarwen courtiship should be lengthy, years easily. But in this case it may shorten significantly because they're some urgency in establishing the royal family/solidifying the alliance. 2: I would love to see that. 3: This exploraton of the dwarwen clan is really intyeresting I would love to see more of it. Stallion: 1: I'm not particularly attached to Hina. We already have a lot of character in this story. So yes I could see it. 2: They should use the opportunity to strike against the WG. Maybe even real move against the nobles in Mariejoie.

2024-05-22 16:39:42 +0000 UTCPatreon: 1: I read exclusively on Patreon. Mostly because I often read on my phone and I don't want to clutter the memory. 3: I learned the existence of the collection just now, while trying to undertsand what you mean. As for the tag I'm not sure what you mean. 4: Not really interested. I wouldn't have time to participate.

2024-05-22 16:33:17 +0000 UTCStallion: 1. it depends on how far out of the way you need to go to have her live- if it can be done naturally and without it looking convoluted even in hindsight, feel free to have her live through this; but if you can't see a way for her to live through this without disrupting certain scenes, then have her end up dead. then again, the same thing could be said about many of the more Absolute marines, so do what you think is best for the future plot points that you're aiming for, so long as said aiming doesn't get in the way of the current scenes and what makes sense for how the character in question would act from moment to moment. 2. given what I've seen from the Egghead arc and its off-island mini-arcs, the Revolutionary Army are arguably as much if not more 'good' than the Straw Hats. as for them taking advantage of this? given that they seemingly barely took advantage of the OTL Marineford War their actions in this timeline should be more during the aftermath than during this not-actually-all-that-long event. as for what they do during the aftermath? depends on how well contained the reveal of the truth behind at least one of the Elders is- which is to say, if it gets out then they will be working to amplify and direct the resulting outrage and neuter any attempts to contain said information. the better question is: what will Imu do when he/it realizes what has happened here? and what will he do to contain the outbrek of this news(assuming that the reveal of the demonic form of one of the Five Elders manages to escape this battlefield)? 3. ...I did have a rant planned, but now I'm going to rewatch Strong World to make sure that I didn't miss some crucial bit of characterization.

2024-05-22 16:13:49 +0000 UTCI only read on my phone and it's super annoying to read PDFs on it so I read off of patreon if I can help it. And the only question I'm able to answer is for Stallion about Hina, I seriously thought she was joining the Straw Hats or even the harem with her being on the FF bio description. And I don't think you need to kill her off, I think she deserves some genuine redemption and not become some martyr for our heroes. It just feels unnecessary and only to be something horrible, but forced

2024-05-22 16:07:41 +0000 UTCI don't read online at all. i really appreciate pdf. I dump it into my text-to-speech app and listen to it instead. so I don't care for fonts at all. I wouldn't download audio either, since I got used to the voice I use for everything else. I think the collections are very helpful, so at least keep keep them. I don't think I care much for chats or discussion so you're probably better off asking yhe people who are already more active in such things. yes, I have cloudflare problems too. it's really tightly configured, I think they don't want to allow anyone they cannot track.. I think a lot of people have problems with it. not just trough VPN, also with non-conventional browsers.

2024-05-22 16:06:55 +0000 UTCYeah I've had cloud flare problems in the past as well, it's happened at least 3 times in the past 10 months give or take, but it's usually when I try to go to the next chapter of a story, search for something on fanfiction or things similar. It does do the loading thing constantly and like every other story it will ask if I am not a robot. Other than that I haven't had a whole lot of problems with the site. As for patreon, before the collections I used the the tags and I still do use the tags, but I think it depends on the situation of trying to find certain stories.

2024-05-22 16:04:17 +0000 UTC1. I think it depends on what you imagine by a few years for the courtship. Especially for a royal wedding I can imagine a symbolic courtship peroid of 7 years, one for each of the great houses. 2. As to the exchange of runic knowledge between Harry and the Rune Scribes, I personally would be interested in reading of the process and not just the finishedd product, to see moments of inspiration and innovation. 3. And concerning the descriptions of the dwarven houses, I think Harry would be interested in learning the social differences between the different houses, not just as an individual but also as part of his "duty" as a dwarven friend. And me as well.

2024-05-22 15:57:19 +0000 UTCThe random question- everyone! Even me… :)
Kirk Staley
2024-05-22 15:50:39 +0000 UTCFate Touched: 1. I am interested in seeing your take on a Dwarven Wedding; and I do agree that their courtship should last a few years, as while dwarves are generally slower to act on certain things than men, they also 100% lack the timeless view of the Elves, and thus wouldn't spend literal decades courting each other before marriage, especially when said marriage is already known to be almost guaranteed. 2. the final product is generally more important, but seeing the process for something like this shouldn't be underestimated in its importance, meaning that I think that it should get a scene, but it need not be a super long one. 3. I have enjoyed seeing you managing to at least somewhat breathe life into the assorted dwarven houses, turning them into much more than the mere names that they were in Tolkein's works. I don't have any suggestions on this part though.
