I did think of going for a modern au, but then it made sense that Leia would have tried to share her Alderaanian heritage with her son, trying to keep its traditions and food alive. Trying to find equivalents to flavor and texture is not easy, but she managed to prepare an old recipe from her late mother, using Tatooine blue milk, imported plums from the outer rim and several other ingredients that just took her forever to find. The face Ben made when he tried it was worth it...
