I mentioned this to Tomon, and will comment here since it fits: not every decision Harry makes is going to be good. Experimenting with other... smokable things - will be one such. Sylina will not stay around. She is very young for her race, very adventerous but I do not think she's looking for anything permanent. A decade or more hooking up with Harry, and then moving on because she can't get used to the fact he's aging every year or something similar. I want to lean into the idea that cross-race pairings do have issues in WoW in a way that I haven't done in my SW fics. Harry's Arcane powers come from himself. This is a marked difference from how Highborne could use magic, as while they had small internal sources, for most of their magic they had to have an external source. Hence why so many were easily corrupted by their queen and the Burning Legion. Harry's Arcane is a whisper, a Highborne is shouting. Further, he is able to manipulate his magic much like a Fel user would, since it is an inherent part of himself. His runes, on the other hand, pull from the ambient magic of the world. Enough of them in one area without enough Nature Magic would attract attention in a way Harry himself would not. As for what attracted the Burning Legion... I don't know. Frankly, the idea the Burning Legion just left or could really be stopped from finding Azeroth again is weird, and only works if it WAS the society using so much magic rather than the gestating titan. I think the titan and the Old gods magical signals kind of cancel one another out at long range, and it was the Kaldorei society which worked to turn Sargeras' attention toward the planet. But you're right, the threat is somewhat exaggerated. A lot of Arcane or Fel magic would need to be used in one area to attract their attention accidentally. But the key word is the last one there. One person trying to use magic to bridge across worlds would be enough. At least, that's my interpretation. We can keep thinking about this aspect for the next eight chapters or so before Harry interacts with the Highborne for the first time LOL. Knew that Fel was dark green, forgot that Death magic was blue, thought ti was only Lich eyes. LOL. Thanks for that.

Love the latest chapter, even if it really does need to be proofread before being reposted. I can't remember you putting your characters through psychedelic trips before, so it was a pretty good attempt at writing one. It actually made me wonder about phoenixes. Their favourite foods are incense and myrrh, both of which are plants that produce sweet scents when burned. This made me wonder how phoenixes react to other smokable plants, like marijuana, opium, and tobacco. I liked the elemental scene, really hoping he resolves that issue soon. Personally, I'm hoping Sylina doesn't become a part of his harem, more because I know you like to keep them small for most stories, and she would take a slot from more notable characters. A fling is okay, but a breakup would be best. You have thousands of years to work with anyway. I definitely should have brought this up earlier, but I will say that Harry's use of Arcane magic is very very different from how it's supposed to work. It's not even the spells he's using; it's how he's using them. Arcane magic is the fundamental opposite to Fel and has its own unique nature. Fel is the magic of chaos. It is incredibly easy to use, often simply requiring the will of the caster. However, it is corrupting by nature, almost seeming to have its own will that will feed upon and twist anything it comes into contact with. Arcane on the other hand, requires that the user be extremely precise when casting. They must ensure that whatever steps a spell requires are performed exactly. Incantations and gestures must be perfect, materials must be of sufficient quality, etc. If even a single step is off, the spell will fail, usually in an explosive manner. We know for a fact that Harry is channeling arcane energy, even if his magic worked differently in his home universe, so how can he still use it the same way? I will also say that the danger of Arcane magic, as you probably know, is greatly exaggerated. It does have an addictive effect on elves, but other races are largely immune to this. Additionally, for it to attract the eyes of the Burning Legion, it would need to be something like a world spanning magi-tech empire like the Kaldorei and Eredar had before their fall to be sensed against the background energies of the universe, not the select use by a small caste of mages. Finally, if anything, what drew Sargeras to Azeroth in the first place is the gestating titan of the same name within the planet, whose arcane presence would outshine any potential arcane civilization on the surface. Azeroth itself (herself) is basically a giant lighthouse, with the only thing keeping it safe from the Burning Legion being its remote location. For that matter, Argus, the original Eredar/Draenei homeworld, was also a gestating titan when the Burning Legion invaded. So basically, it really doesn't matter how much arcane the people of Azeroth channel, Sargeras can probably sense them anyway. Again, love the new chapter.

i hope nothing too bad is going on with Tomon. overall this was a solid chapter. we're still building the groundwork, but it feels like we're starting to move out of the prologue and are starting to define the shape of the next major arc of the story. looking forwards to it

Delphinous

well you use alot of tracy instead of Tyrande
