NOw.... Okay, so I haven't read the manga since they escaped whole cake Island. But I have to say this now. That sounds amazing, but I hope that Oda really was going that route from the beginning and this wasn't a sudden asspull on his part. I am looking forward to getting back into it at some point in the future. As for how that will effect the story, well, Shanks would still have the fruit... I don't know about Gear Five being in the story. Certainly it won't play a major role unless Raffy and Shanks come to blows. I could see Shanks using it to help end the Whitebeard's War after events there. Beyond that, I would say I never said anything about following the canon plots so there's that. I have the story outlined, but some of the arcs can be changed a lot when it comes time to write them out. we will see.

2022-03-28 14:34:39 +0000 UTCso, One Piece chapter 1044 just came out and (Spoiler Warning) just revealed that the Gomu Gomu no Mi was in fact a Mythical Zoan Fruit: Human-Human Fruit Model 'Sun God' Nika, that the World Government has been trying to acquire for over 800 years; how is that going to mesh with this story given that Ruffy(Ranma-Luffy) has eaten the Goro Goro no Mi instead? as while this Luffy has still eaten a powerful devil fruit, and all of the other major aspects of Luffy(other than his relative stupidity outside of combat) are still there to fill in most of his supposed future role, how will the new aspects from the Awakening and the unveiling of Gear Five be incorporated into this story? will you be able to manage it? or will this story flounder somewhat as the end of Wano and post-Wano revelations shift where the source story goes(outside of Raftel, the secrets of the Void Century, the fight with Blackbeard, and the toppling of the World Nobles and their mysterious Leader) and how it gets there(other than by boat)? either way, Marineford and its aftermath is going to make or break this story long before the most recent revelations in the Manga become relevant; either way it's still worth thinking about.
