And Secondly, HP questions here!

Same deal as the other questions thread folks. If you have HP specific questions– they don’t have to be specific to a story – post them here. If you have questions like ‘what do you think about this anime/show’ post them wherever, although realize I don’t watch much beyond completed anime seasons and some historical shows.

Before my own questions though, I will share again my answer to the question I was recently asked about which fics I’d start up when ATP/FILFycome to an end:

That is easy: GDWHOM once FILFy finishes. I would hope that by that time Semblance of Hope is also at the stopping point I want it to reach, and then would bring back Sword, Bow and Horse for the patron poll. Remember I am going to put it on hold after the next chapter, where we will finish up with the events in Brune. That would make the patron poll between two Ranma fics and two HP fics.  And yes, that means at that point, Death’s Avenger would become a full-fic sized instead of episode style.

Although knowing my luck that just means that Making Waves will be finished before the Semblanceepisodes.

Beyond that… I don’t know. I’d like to get into Heroes of the High Seas, but that idea doesn’t seem to have enough backing among you all. The last thing I want to do is bring back a paused story that would just be among those who don’t get updated often.  I’d also really like to get back into my Homage fic. Call it silly, but that could be a lot of fun.

As for taking on new fics? I think at least three of my current fics need to be finished before I start up something new. As for what… well, if ATPends, I think it would be fascinating to start up my Ranma/DC crossover and see what people think. On the other hand if I finish both those HP stories, I would feel compelled to also look at one of my other HP crossover ideas, possibly my HP/RWBY crossover.

Now, once more onto the actual questions.

Death’s Avenger:

Here, I have to say that, thanks to Tomon and Beleriond, I have become aware of several mistakes in the past episodes/chapters of this story that should be corrected, beyond the ones I already have seen. I am going to be going over it tomorrow night – giving each chapter another look through via Grammarly and correcting more mistakes pointed out to me at that point. So if someone points out a mistake or has a specific question/point they want to raise on this story, I will get back to you posthaste instead of more slowly as I would for the other stories.

Now on to the actual questions:

1. As a possible fuck-buddy type love interest, would a blue or red dragon work better for Harry?

2. I recently was reminded by Tomonof a World Tree that is part of the Broken Isles. The problem is that the first World Tree was Nordrassil, as in the tree was blessed by the Aspects. So… where did Shaladrassil come from? How did it become a World tree, and why? Did Frandral pull an oopsy again? Did it grow to be one on it’s own while also severing as the prison for the Satyrs captures in the War of the Ancients? These questions could be important for the next few of Harry’s lifetimes.

3. What is everyone’s opinion on goblins? I’ve looked at their lore, and found it kind of interesting. Especially the whole war against the trolls for independence thing.

4. And here is a big one. I want to introduce Earth concepts into Azeroth. However, this Harry doesn’t know much about guns, steam or anything. History, yes, you can expect to see a few roman-type legions and such when the Human’s first Empire shows up. But how to build better guns, cars, etc, that I am having trouble coming up with a way to explain. So, should these ideas be kept vague? Rely on human (and dwarven, possibly even goblin) ingenuity to do the rest? I think it would be fun to have the Humans go the steampunk route early, and have them be fully invested in a steampunk industrial revolution by the time the Horde Invades.

Um… I have also been doing some reading about post Lich King lore… yeah… No. Just… no. I know war, logistics, and strategy. The people who came up with this lore… no.

Magic of the Force:

1. What should I do about the Mandalorians in this fic? This is an issue I’ve been going back and forth on for a while. ON the one hand, they got shafted by the Order after the New Sith War, but on the other hand, they are a warrior culture. Interesting and fun if they can be directed, but if not, they can be a major issue.

2. Since I’ve used Corellia as a target in Horse, would it make more sense for the Separatists to attack Dac or Serenno? Or is Corellia just that important a target that sending an overwhelming fleet against it for a second fic makes too much sense to ignore?

3. I have been accused of adding too much power to my antagonists in this fic and a few others, so, I am going to ask: should the Sith be able to replicate runes if they take one of the space-expanded freighters intact?

4. On a scale of one to ten, how badly should Padme react to the Chumei situation?

And a final, broader opinion question: which of my HP/crossover concepts most appeals to you all?  I don't want to arbitrarily state the next one would be the HP/RWBY one without asking.

Remember, answering these are not the only purpose of this thread! If you have questions, or even suggestions, please feel free to share them too, and thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts!

Welcome newcomer! I hope you enjoy the cake, it is not a lie. Although yeah, you're a bit behind the times for this series of questions. DA: 1. I don’t think Harry’s going to get with Alexstrasa although she and Harry will know one another from well before her being captured by the orcs. Which might not happen at all. As for the blue dragons, that’s going to be an issue in a few dozen lifetimes. Maybe. I have decided his relaionships with the dragon ladies will be very much a physical thing for most. We will see where it goes. 2. Yeah, see… no there wasn’t any other World Trees. Nordrassil was enchanted by the Aspects to also hide the Well of Eternity (might be wrong on the name there). There is no mention of them ever embuing other trees. The other tree, Vordrassil, was an attempt by the druids to create their own, and it failed, badly. As did the other attempts, with only Vordrasil growing to world tree status, and ahem, giving Yogg Saron access to the Emerald Dream. Shaladrassil has NO background in the lore, it’s just there, randomly, and waay before the experiments by Fanrdal. The unnamed world tree in the Emerald Nightmare is much the same. 3. Eh, people seem to think goblins can be more interesting then gnomes, LOL. So I will see what can be done there. 4. Yeah, we had all figured that. Harry uses illusions and memories to show what’s possible, then sit back and let the others run with it. As for modern weapons, not really. More Napoleonic era stuff. I want the humans to be actually pretty darn strong, and stomping on the orcs so they are forced to do drastic things. Magic: 1.Harry’s belief is more in peace through self-defense/personal identity. Padme bringing Satine to the table is an idea, although Harry would still need to really prove himself to the Mandos, who in turn would need to prove they aren’t the murdering bastard conquerors they are painted as by the Republic and the Order. As for the Darksaber, ehh. I would rather give it to Aayla, since Harry already has a white-bladed lightsaber. 2.Attacking both would be too dangerous – it would pull in too many forces and let the Republic start to hit back, even if it could be done. I made the decision here to have Corellia be the one to be attacked. 3. Runes don’t fall into Sith hands, but knowledge of something able to expand space does. They have no idea how to do it, and their experiments will result in a lot of dead Prophets of the Sith. The Sith have too many other advantages to let them know about runes. They might start to play more with Sith Alchemy though, which Sidious hasn’t touched, although he has used his former master’s experiments in that area. 4. Padme’s gonna be pissed, but since Harry didn’t do anything, he and Aayla aren’t going to be the object of her ire… unless they indicate they were possibly thinking about it. Fair enough on BG not being for you. Eh. I have kind of moved from the Fairy Tail world. I want to finish Making Waves, but that’s it. If you are interested in other fandoms, check out my Heroes of the High Seas story. It’s a My Hero Academia One Piece crossover. You should see it in the July2021 collected works pinned to the top of my patreon page. You should also find a pure Voltron fic. And check out the story ideas tag. I have a lot of HP/other ideas.

I'm probably super late to add anything to this conversation, but I just got to the point to be able to donate and I came across this. For Death's Avenger (I haven't gotten to read what you have so far, but I'm super looking forward to it): 1. I think a Blue dragon would probably be a better fit in general but both work... and there's no reason that he couldn't have both tbh. But my own recommendations would be Tarecgosa for the Blue's and the only Red that would be worth it would be Alexstrasza. I know many might be iffy on using her, she actually isn't used all that much, at least not in HP/Warcraft crossovers. But she has a good setup for them getting together when she is kidnapped by Necros and imprisoned in Grim Batol. 2. There was more than one world tree. Nordrassil was grown after The Great Sundering by the Aspects but there were world trees before that. There's one on pretty much each continent in various states. It's not a singular existence like it is in many other fantasy stories. They are links to the Emerald Dream.. or they were before they were cut down or infested. There's a wiki page for them if you wanna know more about them. 3. I find the origin lore of the goblins to be interesting. Though I'd never actually play one in the game lol. Not sure what you plans for them were but I guess Harry could associate them with the goblins he knew since they are both rather greedy. 4. Umm.. they already have trains in the game. There's 2 that I can think of off the top of my head so the humans using them wouldn't really be a new thing since one of the trains is in Stormwind already. But for other technologies, Harry really just needs to be an idea guy and let the actual craftsman, Dwarves, Gnomes, ect. figure out the specifics. But I also am against teaching modern weaponry concepts to the inhabitants of Azeroth. I think it would be difficult to balance them out and would force to much of a change and would make it feel less like a Warcraft story. And yeah, the Lich King lore is super messy. Magic of the Force: 1. I would really like to see the Mandalorian's get a better showing in your fic. I think Harry and Satine would butt heads pretty bad with Satine trying to force the Mandalorians to change their culture on a fundamental level and Harry's belief of "peace through superior firepower". They could be brought to the table by Padme so they they could work it out with somthing like Harry giving the clans an 'outlet' by being 'hired' by Harry in return for the GDL protecting Mando space. Also, I want Harry to have the Darksaber lol. 2. I think them attacking both Corillia and Sorenno at the same time would be a realistic thing but I feel like it should be a mutual loss thing with Harry's side coming out a bit ahead and allowing him to not only prove the efficacy of the GDL from fending off a massive raid on two fronts but to put more fear from the knowledge that the CIS would attack major locations would attract more potential signees to the GDL and they might get another shipyard out of it. Maybe tie in something for the medical protection act that Padme is pushing through. 3. I think Runes shouldn't get into Sith hands. I think it would be better suited as a constant annoyance for the Sith side that they can neither figure out the technique and they aren't able to capture a ship with it intact. Or if they are able to get it, their experiments cause some sort of catastrophe that severely sets back Sidious's plans or even weakens the Veil even more. I feel like that would be the only fair way to let the Sith have them. 4. Haha.. I'm a male so I really can't see a reason that Padme would be mad at Harry the Chumei situation. Certainly not be happy about it by any means, but her getting mad at Harry for something that he had absolutely no control over would just reek of one of the less popular anime tropes of the MC getting beat up for no good reason. You already had Harry and Padme get estranged once, doing it again wouldn't be good. Though I'd be fine with Padme letting Chumei feel a bit of heat from her ire. I actually love all your HP crossover stories with Bhaalson Remodel being my least favorite and that has more to do with my interest in Baldur's Gate not being remotely near my interest levels of the other fandoms than anything against your writing. That and I'm more interested in Drizzt's story than other Forgotten Realms based stories. That said, if you were gonna do another HP crossover, I'd love to see you do a HP/Fairy Tail story. As long as it has at least Harry/Mirajane lol. That said, while I'm not a fan of Ranma so I don't read your fics for that fandom, you are a fantastic writer and I look forward to any HP stuff you put out. Who knows, maybe it would get me interested in a new series.

Alex Crate

I'm sure they would came up with something, just after a short, 10 000 years nap ^^ :-D Still Satyr are warped Night Elves via Fel (and Arcane?) magic. I guess they always hope there is some way to heal anything, and nature magic inclines to these belief at wells.

Tomon

I never got into Witcher - plot seems dumb, and the game... oh my lord the combat controls and stances... gaah. As for HP/ME, I have a Ranma/ME story that I discontinued a while back. I would prefer to finish that story if i go back into the ME universe. Which is a big IF at the moment. Maybe after both SW stories are done? We'll see.

vimesenthusiast

True on the druid's way thing. Gah. Still dumb. I mean, how would you undo it? After you've been forced to banish your idiot Arcanists? I don't see Nature Magic doing it for sure.

vimesenthusiast

Exactly, Harry may know and or understand small squad tactics as evidenced by what he was able to accomplish with the DA. Now being that he is not from Azeroth he may have insight that others would not as he is coming from a place with preconceptions and or bias. With his friendship/love of Tyrande and potential frienship/love of Alexstrasza it would place him near leadership which would then allow him to learn what it means to be a leader, the good and the bad.

Braeden1002

DA: 1. true that on the lack of fleshed out female reds. On the other hand, That’s kind of true across the flights: fleshed out characters (to my level anyway) beyond the leaders of the Flight. I don’t have an issue creating a red dragon for Harry to be with for a while. I think the Green dragon would be the more serious relationship. Already Harry has something that many a Green would cheerfully sleep with him to gain access to: the ability to drive off the Taint from sentient beings. I do want to look at aging Harry up to a specific level. It would really help him a good deal. But I think that kind of thing would be something he would build up to over time. I don’t want it to just be a case of meeting a Red and her going, oooh, well if you don’t like the age you are, then… and breathing a specific kind of fire on him. No, I would want the two of them to experiment with it a few times, possibly with hilarious results. … you know what, I like that idea. Remind me of it several dozen episodes down the line. 2. Harry and the High elves aren’t going to get along at first, his relation with the Kaldorei rub them wrong (the two types of Elves were not happy with one another for a very long time) and he doesn’t like how prideful and arrogant they have acted in the past. – Some of their mistakes were just too huge to be ignored, but they didn’t apologize for any. Teaching humans and dwarves eventually is something that will occur, but I doubt this Harry is really teacher material. He’s much more of a lone wolf/explorer/fighter than the other Harrys I have created. Runes aren’t more powerful, but they do last longer, and a rune powered cannon would be certainly possible. Breach loading is going to happen -Harry knows about modern guns and some of their history, but not a lot about how to achieve it. So he would be teaching by using his memories and magic to show people examples of what is possible eventually and talking about what he’s seen in history books. He won’t have specifics, although he WILL know about terrain, the use of volley fire – pictures again – and about magazine and bullets. Magic: 1. The regular Mandos aren’t so turned off about the Death Watch as all that – they prefer them to the New Mandos. And once more, the problem is the Mandos, beyond the NM, hate the Jedi. HATE THEM. There’s no chance the Death Watch would go for any job or even suggestion that came from the Republic or the Jedi, and the Jedi are hated by the regular Mandos too much for them to accept Harry. Ranma in Horse was a grey area – a non Jedi who hung out with them, but whose sense of honor was close to the Mandos’ own. He could also, bluntly bribe them with his training and the idea of eventually being able to fight as well as he can. Harry could maybe bribe them with rune-enhanced ships, but that is a serious risk. The only way I can think of getting the Death Watch onside is doing so after crushing them in a battle. With Vizla dead in single combat, maybe the others could be brought around. As for the Mandos out there who aren’t taking sides, the only way to even meet them would be to go and find them, and no chance they would even talk with Harry even so. 2. Ehh… yes and no? They could be delayed, but the problem is, that just attacking is one thing, attacking and conquering another. One is a fast act, the other slow. The CIS has the means to attack them, could even wipe out the industrial stuff right up to the world’s orbits, but after that, the losses would go up. Dac would be impossible. It’s too far out in the Outer Rim, it is basically a world-sized heat sink for large planetary guns, and the orbital yards can be moved down into the atmosphere. That is why in the books and comics Dac has almost always been blockaded instead of attacked, and when it was attacked it was with overwhelming force after being blockaded for a while. But with the GDL’s tactics, that kind of assault would be massively expensive. When the war is supposed to drag out, the CIS can’t afford such a massive operation against the GDL. As for secret factories, the CIS has a ton of those already. Ones that Sidious doesn’t know about, no. Sidious wouldn’t let that fly, the attack on the Republic’s hidden shipyards worked was because the attack happened so quickly. Building up a secret factory would take a while and a lot of resources that Sidious’ agents in the CIS could follow. 3. Sidious has some access to Sith Magic already but that isn’t something he would teach anyone else. As for it’s being equivalent, not quite. Sith Magic wasn’t something most could use in combat. But he could recreate, say, the Sith magic that could create rhakghouls. Although if that happens I won’t use the amulet that does the same thing in the comics as a plot device in this story. Would be redundant. My take on Sith Magic is that it creates way too big a splash and is too mind-intensive to be used under a Force Cloak. So he would only be able to use it in places immersed in the Dark Side. He can’t be Sith magician and Chancellor at once LOL. And, let’s face it, there is no way he would ever teach C’baoth anything about it, nor Ventress. Sidious’s apprentices, including Vader, were always means of control and terror, not actual equals. Pawns tooled for specific tasks, nothing more. Dooku he could have taught some Sith Magic too, and know he wasn’t interested in betraying Sidious. C’baoth, no.

The swedish empire army model would be awsome. Those guys were one of the finest examples of quality over qaunity in history. I also learned lately that in the middle ages the Swedes used a type of swordstaff to get a weapon that could be used as either a short pike or halberd so that is a intresting melee option if you want to go full Scandinavian. I forgot to make a sugestion for a new HP story. I recently came across a HP/witcher one that is good and looking for more I found that there weren't many. I also like the idea of an HP/Mass Effect story and would like to point out you don't nessarly need to adjust the HP timeline to match the ME one perfectly. With how long wizards live it would be possible to put an old Harry in a postion to interact with Shepard at any point in the ME timeline without much adjustment. Or before it as I can think of a couple of backstory options for Shepard that might let them know each other before ME1.

Bryan Brown

I agree with pretty much everything you said. At best I had a reasoning/idea for Satyrs. They're after all transformed elves so maybe they hoped to find a way to undo it? Or help them regain their former personalities via prison time? But sadly I think it just wasn't the 'druids way' to kill them when they managed to somehow catch / imprison their enemies...

Tomon

So I finally have time to respond to this! First, let me say that I loathed all rent conning. Going back and correcting mistakes - as I will have to do for a third path to the future, spreading offense out, making a few things more logical, and so forth - is one thing. But going back and saying oh no, that’s not what really happened, this is what really happened, or also this is what happened, that’s stupid. Having multiple authors for the same universe has very rarely worked. Warcraft is one, Warhammer 40K another (not going to go there). In fact, I think Star Wars is almost the only one I can think of where multiple authors actually worked pretty well. Simply because they spaced things out, even if they use the same characters. Death’s avenger: 1. yes, the blue dragon flight is almost entirely extinct point, the ones that are still alive, are being slowly drained of their magic to keep their flight leader alive. Or at least that is what I’m going to go for. As for red dragon flight, I won’t use Alexstraza herself. I’m thinking of perhaps a young adventuresome Dragon, who wouldn’t mind a few centuries in a human body, getting to know him and so forth. There will still be a lot of societal issues, and the idea of a permanent pairing won’t come up in either of their minds of course. It just wouldn’t work. As for the green and bronze dragonflies. Bronze dragonflies are going to leave him alone. I think of all of the dragonflies, they would know most about where he came from, and who sent in particular. I don’t think any of them would want to get close to someone so closely connected in turn to the personification of all endings. The green dragon flight though, they are going to be a very different story entirely. I do intend for him to *ahem* hook up with at least one green dragon eventually. Perhaps even a senior green dragon, although not the flight leader. I’ve already hinted and ability that the green dragon flight would be ecstatic to learn about: Harry’s ability to purify the satyr’s prisoners back in chapter 1. 2. Yeah, I’m struggling with the Shaladrassil concept as well. It just makes no sense. Making it a great tree is all well and good, but then why was that great tree chosen as the prison for the satyrs. In fact, why were the satyrs imprisoned at all? Why weren’t they just killed off? This isn’t like the orcs after the second war, where they literally surrendered and there was some possibility of making peace with them. These were war prisoners, prisoners who served the big daddy, the devil, and you’re just going to lock them away? There is kindness, and then there is stupidity. I might honestly remove that entire idea, it just smacks of random plot twists that aren’t necessary. On the other hand, the werewolves could be imprisoned. The Druids could have magically infused this tree somehow to keep the werewolves inside. That makes more sense. 3. I will have to look at the timeline to look at gnomes. The goblins obviously are already are long around, can’t do any thing about them. Uncertain about gnomes. However, I am sad to report that I don’t have any kind of disdain or contempt towards the gnomes. In contrast, from what I read on the wiki page, I actually think they’re quite an interesting race. Again, having Harry interact with them early on, could be very interesting. Especially, if in so doing he accidentally releases the troggs and gets involved in solving that issue long before it became a problem in canon. Then two, like the dwarves, the gnomes are a result of the curse of flesh. Learning more about the Titans and the Titan forged could while away several thousand years of the story LOL. 4. The ideal bill, yes, to have Harry basically share ideas from his world, the problem will be to stop myself from inputting too much of my own knowledge and understanding of history and warfare into Harry LOL. In other stories I have gotten past this by having him trained in various ways, the SAS in ATP and by Sirius and the Black Family Library in FILFy, and Hermione forcing him to read history books to follow up with his primary education in feet touched, here however, specifically when it comes to technology and innovation, he hasn’t had any such a resource. Hermione certainly would be able to tell him things about the Muggle world, but he hasn’t interacted with it all that often, and nor has she. However he will be able to describe things he’s seen, describe things he seen in history books and it in real life, and that would certainly include gone. So cartridges yes, magazines yes. The idea of gunpowder needing to be perfected and continually worked on to become better over time I think he would know. Logistics? The importance of mass production? How to use guns in battle on a large scale? Especially early musket rifles? That humans will need to develop on their own. They well, this may were talking about here, warfare baby! But it will take them some time. As for my existing Harry Potter concepts, you’re the first one to mention heroic wizard! That’s a pity, because, much like my work on heroes of the high seas, I really would like to branch out into using my hero academia characters. Unfortunately, I just don’t see it happening just yet. I like the premise of Harry discovering magic for himself as well, especially the idea of element manipulation, and seafaring stuff. That could be really fun. But again, see previous answer.

vimesenthusiast

Death’s avenger: I have indeed written Harry as a defender of life in every fanfic. I think it is almost as much as a magical system that Potter uses the original part of his identity. I also like the idea of Ranma meeting death waiting at the start of the second orc war, protecting the Queen from being captured and her young turned into mindless tools of the horde. I too like the point about Harry not knowing about logistics and strategy! That’s a good one. I would say he would have studied tactics, the use of terrain and the importance of distance and height and so forth, and he would know about history in a broad sense. But I don’t think he would know about the need for logistics, army structure, or perhaps much about specific battles. As a British person, to use the Napoleonic era as an example he would probably know about the battle of Waterloo say, and have studied that, rather than the Russian campaigns and the peninsular war. Good point, and I will remember it. This also will allow me to keep him out of early leadership roles for a while. Magic of the force: everyone seems to forget, that there are some honest, deep-seated patriots from the Mandalorians toward the Jedi. Harry is first and foremost, known as a Jedi. He might be a leader now, but he was a Jedi first, and even if he say apologizes for the desolation, that hatred is not going to go away. The idea of him reaching out to the new Mandalorians is an idea, and could give him a toehold there, but honestly speaking, I don’t see him getting along with Satine either. Harry is all about the rights of the individual to defend himself, where as she is all about taking those rights away. That’s in reaction to the Mandalorian culture of violence, but that doesn’t really matter much in terms of what she is doing. You have a point though about them learning to respect him as a warrior. That has happened in the past, when the Mandalorians respect this or that Jedi as soldiers. However, that is a really big uphill battle, and the deathwatch, for certain, would not be willing to work for him. So no Bo in this fic. While it is true that the Confederacy would have the resources to attack both Corellia and Serenno, attacking is not the same thing as defeating, and occupying. Corellia has as much defense and industrial capacity as a Normal core worlds sector! This is an exaggeration, it was that important. Serenno’s defenses was enough to keep a Republic fleet at bay for several years. So I don’t think they would attack both, simply because even if they won, the losses they would sustain would got to their war effort, same as going against Rendili Shipyards. As for the Jedi angle, and Sidious’ he tried, the Jedi angle would lead to either planet. While Serenno is the re-training center, Corellia has the green Jedi Temple. I wouldn’t equate the Sith alchemy to the runes, I can see why you have, but once runes are in place, the force itself powers them. Sith alchemy is like a potion, there’s an immediate impact, which can go on for a while, but then the alchemical creation. The runes are much more long-lasting revelation. On the other hand, everyone seems to agree with the idea that letting the Sith figure out runes on their own isn’t something that’s going to be quick. Depending on how much information they have at the start, it could take years, or even decades. Yes, Chumei was a little girl that Harry saved early on his apprenticeship with master Faye, although that really wasn’t hit her family LOL. As for Padme, I never thought that she would react with public histrionics or anything like that, I was simply wondering about the severity of her reaction. I can almost certainly predicted this point, that at least at first, she and Chumei will not get along at all. She will see why the idea of bringing her and the Hapes Consortium into the GDL is a good idea, but I think she would argue most of us are firstly against any uniting of the lines shall we say.

vimesenthusiast

Deaths avenger: Good point about Harry not being able to raise technology across different areas. For example, he wouldn’t know anything about Muggle medicine, or how diesel engines or jet engines works. A steam engine is definitely doable and thank you for reminding me about the Hogwarts express! It doesn’t run on magic does it? And another good point you raise is about the kilt system, which while he would have to work with it, would indeed curtail the idea of mass production of most items. It certainly was a issue in our world for a while LOL. However, I think he would know more about black powder and the importance of guns in terms of warfare. Guns he would no doubt have run into and yes, that is what I am shooting for I think. American or Napoleon style warfare, or perhaps, thirty years warfare Swedish model warfare against orcs and demons. The question will be then, how do the night elves deal with such things? There, with the night elves let mean, is where I will go with magi-tech. Thanks to their connection to the well of eternity, the night elves can all use magic, even if they can’t cast spells. Which would allow them to use runes, which Harry has already started to introduce to Tyrande. Say nothing of the high elves. I am uncertain that Harry would get along with a high elves right away, the way they were so arrogant and so careless with their magic, particularly in Northrend and the other examples after the war of the ancients was done, Bill rubbed him the wrong way. I also think that they would be extremely arrogant towards him in turn, seeing him as a human, who they, unlike the night elves, by that point will have had some dealings with. Magic of the force the problem there is, that there is no way that any Mandalorian would be willing to work with the Jedi. The hatred there is very real, and the old guard as you put it, are practically nonexistent. There could be a few examples out there, but most of them are already involved, or were involved, in training the clones. So unfortunately, I think that the reality of events, without any inside individual, is going to force me to have the Mandalorians as working on the side of the Confederacy. At least for a while. They might start to heat the Republic due to the cloning of Jango but they won’t have that same kind of visceral reaction to the GDL. So possibly after a few clashes there, they will find something there to respect, even with the leader of the GDL and being a Jedi. You make a good point about their wanting to attack the logistics of the GDL. At this point, no one has any idea about how the various planetary shields and other parts are getting around, all they know is that Tibanna Gas is flowing through Serenno. So the question will be, attack the production center, or attack the resource center. Tough question there. And thinking about it, made me remember something so thank you! At this point, Sidious would want to go for death of a thousand cuts route. Remember, that this is still quite early in the war, and he does not want any sides to actually win. He wants the GDL to come back into the Republic yes, but he wants both sides to take losses, horrendous losses, which also include the Jedi. The longer the war goes on, the better in his opinion, so he wouldn’t be quite as willing to go for the jugular just yet, despite the fact being much more militarily sound. Mind you, that too could change if he discovers the existence of runes. Harry is already his personal enemy number one, that knowledge, would boost the GDL above the rest of the Republic in terms of threat assessment. That means, that if a strategic target is attacked with sufficient force to take or destroy it, it would be coming from the mind of C’baoth… Who is not a military mind. However, he does have access to several such. The question then becomes, would he listen? I honestly am uncertain. Certainly he wouldn’t call off any other attacks, which means a certain assault that will make the entire universe believed is still going to continue… As for the runes, yes, everyone seems to agree with me that the idea of the Sith trying to replicate the runes is a long-term project, a very long-term project, very dependent on what starting information they get. Although you did raise a good point that only Sith would be able to feel the impact of the runes in the force. The Sith do have the profits of the Darkside or whoever they are, can remember offhand, but even they are already quite busy. The idea by the way, of a noticed me not ward keyed to stopping Darkside users is a little too specific LOL. The runes are instead hot hidden physically aboard the ships that use them. As for booby-traps, oh yes, those are there too. Both force assisted and natural. And as for Padme I do predict some cat fights in the future. Extremely decorous, Princess type cat fights, a but cat fights nonetheless. I don’t think she would blame Harry or Aayla, since they didn’t start the flirting, but she might want to keep a closer eye on them in the future LOL. Which, depending on what happens in the Senate, could be a cherry on top of a reason to be said body.

I... dislike Stargate. I think it has a tremendous potential, but the main characters... I don't why but they just rubbed me wrong, so I never got into it. Can't explain why. (In other sci-fi news, I have seen reports that they are thinking of remaking Babylon 5 taking ideas from the remake of Battlestar Galactica? I already don't want to watch it. UGH. Make a series about the Harrington series or fuck anythign from Weber, that would be freaking awesome. But remaking B5 to be more angsty and drama and ....GRAAAA. ) As for percy Jackson, sorry, no. While FILFY and ATP are giving me some experience playing with gods, I actually have never read the Percy Jackson original.

vimesenthusiast

I might go back to that and update it at some point, I've had a few ideas for it, but I honestly can''t see getting to it until at least three of my current stories are finished.

vimesenthusiast

There are only two purified/uncorrupted black dragons, and both are male. So that would be a no. Maybe near the end of the fic? Way too far in the future to think. 4. Ranbo Potter... heh. I do like the idea of him becoming an honorary dwarf (again). As to when he might introduce the idea of guns, that would depend on if he gets involved in the Troll Wars occurring on Azeroth. Which I could see him do if he sees them as bad as the Trolls who have enslaved the goblins at this time. Yeah, the HP/RWBY could be very fun. Considering I now know what not to do LOL. As for a RotHS crossover, no. Too many stories already, so I doubt it, and honestly, didn't really like the majority of the Shields characters.

vimesenthusiast

D: 1. A purified black dragon? 4. Ranbo Potter! Harry could become an honorary dwarf having collaborated in the creation of steam engines, it would be good for large vehicles but cars would go to magic like in Fairy Tail, bicycles could become the means of transport for ordinary people, I think he does not he would like to let people know about firearms until the Burning Legion invasion, when that happens Harry may already have some magic guns and a sniper rifle from which mass production will be based. I would say yes for HP / RWBY. Do a Harry Potter crossover with Rising Of The Hero Shield? Harry could be reborn as Fohl and he would focus on studying medicine and alchemy to heal his sister.

GreedOnGreed

After reading your other HP ideas, A name to Conjure With looks pretty frickin cool

Synner

A bit late and less to do with the first question more of the what to do next. The fate one would be interesting. Have you ever thought of a percy Jackson crossover or maybe even a stargate one? Would be interesting to do a alternative reality where harry as he has "died" but come back is kinda semi ascended. But for me I'm happy to read any cross over with Harry Potter I can learn the lore and back ground of the other universe as I read

Icarus

Death Avenger 3) If you want to do a section about Harry among the goblins go for it. 4)I think given the hogworts express and potions it is possible Harry would have a good understanding of the Steam engine and/or Black powder. However his knowelege of other Tech would be very hit or miss, which means He probably boost tech in idividual areas rather than generally. He would also likely have to give ideas to crafts man to figure out rather than giving them a finished process. These craftmans would likely be part of a guild system that would not lend itself well to mass production. Also unless he knows alot about farming you would not have the population boom to push the issue. So at the start of Warcraft 1 there could be steampunk tech, but probably in limited quanties. However breach loading single shot or double barrrel firearms might be common with a national train system for swift transit. Fighting the orcs with Amercian civil war miltary instead of a midevil one would be entertaining. Alteratively You could go the magitech/Eberron route with Harry using runes and Enchanments to fill in the gaps of what he knows and cheat technology into working. The sky is the limit there if there are enough mages in the population to keep up with demand. Magic of the Force 1) I think it would be a little late to bring them in, especially with the official goverment being pacifest. Though I could see him hiring the Old Gaurd Madelorians as Special forces or training officers for The GDL army. Leaving the new Mandlorians and the death watch to go about thier buisness. 2)I think thier top poritety would be disrupting the flow of Tibanna Gas and ship produdtion, so where would be best for those goals. Uless they went with the death of a thousand cuts apporach attacking all the minor targets try to make the GDL spread its fleets too thin. In that case no big battles, just lots and lots of little ones. 3)I would not think it likely they could replicate the runes in any reasonable rate of time. First you would have to board and capture an expanded trade vessal, which isn't bulit yet. Then you would Have to have a sith on the captured ship to sence the force effect, and there are not many of those. Third is Finding the runes past whatever means Harry uses to hide them. Maybe a notice me not ward keyed to the dark side so No dark sider can see the runes. Or Harry could install booby traps and fail safes to destory the ship/runes if captured, which he would. Probably both. Finnally you made a big deal about how dangerous teaching/researching runes were early in the story so unless the person eaxming them is an expert in obscure force lore they are likely to kill themselves trying to replcate the array. None of C'baoth minnons awould be qualified. C'baoth, Sidious, and his "true" appeantace are to busy. Which leaves some seceret sith researcher that Sidious might send to Seperasit space so C'baoth can warp his mind, learn all the secerts the researcher knows and use them against Sideous. Oh, I mean learn the secerts of the runes while being politely left alone. I guess Sidous could order the ship sent sent too the researcher instead allowing C'baoth or the Jedi to track it to the Sith seceret base instead. Perhaps with a built in tracking rune that Harry can use to find the ship at any time. Over come all that and they could then get started. 4) On one hand Padme is a polititian and would understand why it had to be considered. On the other hand that !@#$% wants her man. So pissed, but not for long.

Zagan: 2 - yes they are Made scientists 3. And yes, the ideas and vague descriptions or even the pictures could be enough. General questions: No. The whole Harry in DC without anything else has been done, so has the idea of the green lantern specifically. If I ever do a straight HP fic it will have Harmony in it!! Fav girl from the original Discworld would be a no - not many love interests that are interesting beyond Susan, and really too comedic for a serious fic. I could maybe write up an omake, but only for comedy reasons.

vimesenthusiast

??? Don't read noodlehammer myself - his Harry's a bit too off canon and OP (yes I know that's a bit like a pot calling a kettle black, but at least I can also complain that he's the wrong shape LOL) so you'll have to explain that to me.

ngl im with noodlehammer on the fuck goblins route

Death’s Avenger: 1. I personally think a red dragon would work better. Yes Harry likes if not loves magic but Harry has always struck me as a defender and protector of life. You have also written Harry like that in every story that you have written so that probably also adds to my bias. “The red dragonflight has always concerned itself with maintaining the harmony and prosperity of life…” Taken from the wiki sort of highlights my point in that regard. 4. I would say that Harry is probably not as ignorant to things like that. He did go to a public school for a few years which would have helped with a basic knowledge that he could give to dwarves or gnomes. The concept that they used something called rifles with bullets that were fed by magazines instead of breech loading like a musket. On the other hand so much of his life was taken by magic and a desire to be knowledgeable and to use anything to his advantage could have made him study Mundane history, logistic, and strategy. Magic of the Force: 1. I think that they should be redeemed like you have done with Horse. If Harry was not already in a relationship with Aayla and Padme I think having him paired with the Kryze sisters could have been interesting, more so with Bo. I could see Harry and his group reaching out to them offering trade and resources for manpower and squad training. This would give the warriors a target to direct their combat prowess onto and Harry is a known warrior and statesman. His charisma is such that I feel that he could have people wanting to change and if they challenge him then he can show why he is a warrior. 2. I think you should attack both Corellia and Serenno. They would have enough resources that they could do both. Especially as in Horse there really are only two factions while in Magic there are three if not four factions. Plus with everything that Harry and friends have done to muddy his plans there would be some vengeance. Moreover, it would divide the command structure, do they help Corellia which has a tie to their General or do they help Serenno where the Jedi are stationed and some of the younglings as well as resources in the surrounding planets. 3. I would say that the Sith might already have access to their own types of runes considering there is Sith Alchemy. Yes I can agree that sometimes it feels as if the Sith become almost too strong and overpowered, but at the same time they are constantly changing and growing instead of stagnating. But I think the Sith having a space-expanded freighter would tip the scale in favour of the Sith. As with something like that the Sith would just create and fill them with armies that no Clone Army could repulse and fill the ships with more shields and vultures then can be stopped. 4. Is Chumei the little girl and her family that Harry saved early on in his apprenticeship with Fay? I cannot remember the name or the situation regarding her. I would expect Padme to react with jealousy but she has not just been a Queen but an Ambassador for her people in the Senate that I feel that she would be able to push aside those feelings and focus on the now. That is not to say that she would not demand more answers and reasoning but I do not think it would rage and venting her frustration.

Braeden1002

Death Avenger: 1: Definitively a red dragon, much more in tune with life and willing to go the sex buddy route. 2: If I remember right the goblin are mad scientist in the WoW, could Harru orient them toward magitek? 4: Well even if Harry does not have any detail, the simple fact that something is possible could be a massive help for researcher. The basic of a steam engine are pretty easy to transmit, the formula for gunpower no, but rotating barel for gun are an easy concept, producing electricity by attaching a magnet to a wheel is pretty easy too. Three general question: Could we ever have a Harry Potter story in the Harry potter universe, with no or little crossover? Like a green lantern ring but nothing else from DC. Related to the above any possibilty of Harry/Hermione at some point? Any possibility for a Harry Potter/Discworld crossover?

zagan

You're quite correct that it was written this was during the war of ancients. Even with Krasus saving a clutch of eggs and giving them to Nozdormu. That being said there are several Blue Dragons too old to come from this saved clutch (which was given back to Malygos quite recently all things considered). So in fact some of them had to either survive or just not being there at Well of Eternity in the first place. And it makes sense for some of them to tend to other duties even during cataclysmic event of this scale. Also... sadly another issue in the lore and timelines :)

Tomon

I love warcraft history but I must admit it's a mess, especially with all the retcon and additional lore over the years. Well it happens when you have multiple authors I guess but still makes me sad sometimes... Death’s Avenger: 1) Huh, I think blue dragons are a little more curious and could be fascinated by Harry's magic to the point of wanting to explore more. But there is the issue I already mentioned - the Blue Dragonflight being almost extinct during this time in the timeline and the surviving having probably more troubles than time to explore something interesting. Also red dragonflight, at least the notable members, could actually feel some of Harry connection to Death or at least rebirth. They are, after all, guardians of Life. And they're not as abstract from normal life as it happens for a lot of bronze or green dragonflight either. I think it really depends on who he meets and both got its own problems :) 2) World Tree headache We had a G’Hanir - a mother tree so to say, created by Freya and which was located in the Emerald Dream. Due to Sundering, Aviana death and the events during the war of ancients the tree sort of died as well. One Acorn remained. That Acorn which remained was used to create: Nordrassil - the so called first World Tree, the reason for night elf immortality (after losing the Well of Eternity). Blessed by Ysera, Alexstrasza and Nozdormu. And used to shield/suppress the newly created Well of Eternity (Bad Illidan! Bad!) Then we have the World Trees created by Fandral Staghelm Andrassil/Vordrassil - he wanted to push back the influence of Saronite in Northrend (Old god influence). Well, didn't quite work out and ended up in tragedy. So he later created Teldrassil because he just can't, get, enough! ^_^ That's all and good. But suddenly, there is a: Shaladrassil World Tree created on Broken isles. Used among other things as a prison to Satyrs. The issue is that this tree, according to provided lore existed before and also survived Sundering. But the 'first world Tree' was said to be Nordrassil which was created right after sundering. And the explanation is: ??? Nobody knows :-D Really, either retcon and Nordrassil is a first world tree deeply connected to Night elves or a first World Tree from mother tree G'Hanir? Or Shaladrassil wasn't a World Tree before Nordrassil existence and was just Great Tree (such as Daral’nir, Tal’doren and other Great Trees)? But most of them were Fandral work and were Nodrassil offshots :-D Still, it could be possible something like the oldest tree in Azeroth and druids, now connected to Teldrassil and its existence, manage to evolve it further? Honestly it's something you will have to decide yourself. As far as I know there aren't any true answers 3) Goblins are quite interesting little buggers. And I like how they were forced to use their crazy (evil?) genius to work around the fact that they aren't the strongest race. Funnily enough the same could be said about Gnomes... I could go without Gnomes. Did they spawn on your Azeroth? I wouldn't mind if they didn't :-D 4) Lot of times an idea is what is needed. So if Harry talks with some engineers about cartridges for guns. Or even better, work with them and create a magic equivalent -> rifle which loads itself from a added storage space? It could very well force the engineers of Warcraft world to create something like that. And that applies for a lot of other ideas as well. He can describe it well enough and they can try to replicate or create it themselves. Something will work, something may end up being even better :) And something may just fail. I don't really see them going steampunk route. Maybe for just a very few specific things. But otherwise I think bringing some Earth ideas sounds good. But no reason to overdo it. Broader question/opinion If we are chosing from existing concept of yours I would like to see Heroic Wizard (HP & MHA) But Harry Sawyer doesn't sound so bad. Even if I dislike the name as I'm not overly fond of Sawyer story itself. I guess it can serve as the initial push. But the rest of the premise and Harry discovering and learning magic by himself already, before being admitted to Hogwarts and all of the rest sounded extremely well.

Tomon

I Wasn't speaking in terms of IRL guns to bows. I was talking about in Warcraft itself. In setting with magic guns made from magic materials with magic bullets and magic gunpowder (making them one way or another superior to Civil War era rifles) a magic bow with magic arrows is just as effective. I'm not saying that Humanity pulling a Gustavus Adolphus wouldn't be cool. I'm just saying whatever advantage they would have from these unique (To the Horde's perspective) weapons and battle tactics would diminish pretty quickly. Some magical nonsense in one form or another would quite quickly and easily level the playing field. I am in complete agreement over steam power, roads, printing press etc. being very useful.

Arga

1. My thought were more along the lines of sensing his presence while he is there then basically hunting him down occasionally after he leaves that ends up over a couple of lifetimes becoming closer etc. However if you want to wait a few more lifetimes I would see a red dragon being more likely maybe after Harry defends some whelps of something in his travels unless you use him travelling to Northrend to introduce him to either Blues or Reds there lol. 3. In that case I doubt the cartels would even be formed, since that happened after they fought each other after driving the trolls away so could be even more interesting to see. I'm picturing goblins that have been influenced by a mixture of Tauren/Kaldorei respect for nature, what they've learnt from the Zandalari and Harry showing them images from his world. The Kaldorei reaction to Goblin reliance on Kala'mite would be interesting as well. If Harry/ his allies find a way to help them keep their intelligence without relying so much on the stuff I could also see their tech working a lot better than in canon yet not being so destructive to nature at the same time lol. MotF 2. It would depend what kind of impact you want to have, If after Grevious campaign I could see a number of defenders from both worlds being sent to help/reinforce the worlds Grevious has attacked but if you want them attacked at full strength or being unable to lend aid to fight against Grevious then before/during his campaign may be best. 3. My own thoughts here were that it would be amusing if just like the importance of Harry being hidden from the sith for so long, hiding the relevance of Runes due to a mixture of factors including those researching a malfuntioning or sabotaged cluster on the freighter, having no understanding of the importance of this thus not reporting about them to Palpy, for him to then find out their importance say towards the end of the war or when he can't do much about them anymore would be more interesting and show the effects Harry's presence in the Light side of the force has had on the Dark siders ability to find hidden important info. As I said I liked a number of your concepts, there are also a few fandoms I'd love to see you take your usual world building skills to expand on lol, but I also felt your episodes and Homages have helped you a lot when you've hit a sudden block and just want to write something else.

Thomas Edwards

I realised that after the fact, guess Harry Potter story’s have always proven popular enough never to go on hiatus, yeah that’s not fair for HP fans so in this case it would be worth starting a new story to keep numbers equal.

TheLazyShadow

I actually really like Hela’s character and her overall inclusion in the story, I just think the romance was done poorly (by your standards anyways). You spent a decent amount of time having her watch him, and slowly build up a certain amount of admiration/respect/attraction for him, which was obviously a good thing. Then she lost of all her memories of him, completely undoing all of that build up. I realize that they showed her the memories of their previous interactions, but for all intents and purposes she was still starting from scratch. She was also joining a relationship that was already pretty established, and her attraction is clearly to Harry rather than the others, even if you have tried to build those up in the intervening chapters. I just think it was clunky and felt more like a fanservice than a realist romance to me. The memory loss is the thing that got to me the most, along with how quickly she made the decision to start something with Harry once she woke up in Hogwarts. As a reminder see chapter 31: "She had decided somewhere along the line during this conversation that yes she was definitely still interested in Harry as she had been before her memories were taken." I'd have to reread the chapter to figure out how much time had passed by this point, but it was really quick for an immortal goddess who was basically meeting a stranger who had, admittedly saved her life. I agree with your analysis on Making Waves, and I figured that’s what happened by the authors notes. I figure that with the amount you write, it’s got to be difficult to do much long-term planning in your stories, especially given how fast MW was written. To be honest, as much as I love it, it’s also has the most, call them potential areas of improvement, of all the stories of yours that I follow, but that’s a longer discussion and the romance is the worst offender of this. This is matched by having some of the best scenes in any of your stories (the oracion seis arc comes to mind as well as a few others), so it does balance out in that sense. However, I doubt it’ll ever rank quite as high in my eyes as Horse, despite it having more inherent potential for me personally (I prefer the fantasy setting) due to some of its issues. ATP and WW are also better, but those had a ton of potential going into them and were done brilliantly even with the rushed ending to WW. To be clear on this, I’ve been reading fanfiction for a long time, and maintain a detailed ranking list of my all-time favorite stories (skewed towards longer ones), and MW comes in at #6 (I’ve got about 250 overall), so I really do love it. It’s just that those other three literally make up the top 3 spots on my list. You are by far my favorite author, so my standards here are pretty high. For the HP/RWBY fic, I’m aware, but like I said, if it’s done well then I don’t have a problem with it. It’s not my preference, but it doesn’t necessarily detract from the story. So far I’m loving sword, bow, and horse. As far as the romance goes, it’s a little early to say, but so far I haven’t had an issue with it. You made a point of saying that it was a societal norm and are clearly planning on having Tigre do the same so that makes it more realistic to me. I really enjoyed the discussions with Valentina, and the slow build up with Lim.

Scott

No, there are a few others, although they are stunted, their magic keeping Malygos alive despite his being lost in ennui and soul crushing grief (or at least that’s what I’ll go with). Deathwing killed like 90% of the flight. It was time alone and then finding magic in the hands of SO MANY FUCKING MORTALS that drove him insane Later. But if Harry interacts with him soon enough, that might not happen. And no, raising young dragonlings is not in Harry’s cards. Of all of my Harrys this is the one that is least interested in family. He wants friends, romance and adventure, family is not needed.

vimesenthusiast

Did that just now. Thanks go to M B for finding them and making me remember hyperlinks are a thing here!

vimesenthusiast

1)Huh. That is actually a bit faster than I expected. Then again, I still have only a vague idea of how long/how many lifetimes it will take Harry to come into his own as a Chimera. 2) Yeah, I am getting that impression the more I look into it. It is almost as horrible as the Warhammer 40K lore. Just not quite as grimdark. But certainly as screwed up by the need to pander to the WoW fans and the number of cooks working on the soup LOL. 3) I would rather Harry become involved in the war against the trolls. Bringing in a few Tauren and Kaldorei they could then work with the goblins to better understand their nature, their honest need and addiction to the Kal-whatever so that their culture isn’t as self-serving and off the rails. There should be like, 40% of that, but the rest could be changed. 4) Ooooh, images, Nice suggestion. I forgot about the ability to create visuals. Odd that. MotF: 1) They are already splintered badly. Being a Successor to Dooku would put a large target on his back to any friends the True Mandalorians (or whatever Fett’s faction was called) that still exist, true. But yeah, after years of arguing the point with Padme who is more than willing to grab up a gun and defend herself and others at need, but who believes in the policy of nonviolence, Satine would not make any headway against Aayla or Harry. 2) Hmm… like that idea. But feints on this scale… hmm… actually… interesting… Yes. I think this is a winner. I will go with this idea. The question then becomes before or after Grevious’ own campaign… 3) I never said it would be easy darn it. I just wondered if even letting the Sith know about them would be seen as trying to up the enemies power to match Harry’s without any real reason to do so. Still, people have been clear enough about their dislike of the idea regardless of the reasons. Good to know, LOL. I’d like to follow up on my homage episodes too.

7 can work too. Sure!

Tellemicus Sundance

Ehh on guns being equal to bows. Early on, sure, but by the Napoleon/Civil war eras? NOPE. Think of a steampunk version of the Swedish model army of the Thirty Years war - pike, muskets, cannons. Then tell me they wouldn't make a hash of the Horde if well led and anywhere near parity in numbers. Also think that the importance of roads, early introduction to steam and the printing press would be big - they didn't have either of those last in Loradaeron, remember. It was the Second war which pushed the dwarves out of their mountains and brought them and the gnomes into contact with humans.

vimesenthusiast

Death's Avenger: 1) I would mention that if you do go with a Red Dragon, that their fire is the most likely thing to help Harry with the healing and accelerated aging I mentioned on FF. From what I remember of the lore, and the one book I read, I think your depiction of the blues is accurate. The other reason I didn't really support a Red pairing was because there is kind of a dearth of fleshed-out female reds other than Alexstrasza. Maybe Corastrasza? 4) I would limit Harry's direct intervention to magical things like runes. He could certainly teach the High Elves and early humans quite a few things. I assume that runes will be more powerful on Azeroth because of its higher ambient magic levels. Are rune powered canons possible? There could also be a few scenes later where Harry explains some basic concepts to improve things. I can see that some people already mentioned rifling for guns, but one thing people tend to overlook is how long it took humans to figure out that measuring the powder for each shot is ridiculous. He could explain charges and the basic ideas behind bullets and breach-loading to the dwarves for example. Magic of the Force: 1) I was kind of hinting at using Death Watch to do that. At the moment the Mandalorians are split between the NM and Death Watch, with a whole bunch of them still hanging onto the old ways, but turned off by Deathwatch's terror tactics and obvious desire for power. If Death Watch could be reformed into a counter Terrorist/Anti-slavery movement, they would have a massive groundswell of support. The NMs couldn't really be against them without appearing to be pro-slavery. This is more of a long term thought anyway. Obviously this would position the Mandalorians against the Republic/Empire, which could be a good thing for the Jedi later. Vizsla would need to be replaced of course, maybe in single combat with Harry or something? 2) Could the attack be delayed slightly to build up enough forces to strike multiple targets (Corellia, Serenno, and maybe Dac) at once? Or, is it possible that C'baoth has his own secret factories producing extra troops that he could pull out? It seems like something he would do. 3) I thought that considering he already has access to advanced cloning techniques, that creating an army of monsters might be something he would consider. Sith Sorcery might be something he would look into if he ever saw Harry using incantations or spells. Those were used as part of Sith Sorcery. If you haven't already, google "Sith magic" and check out the page on wookieepedia. It is very similar to the magic practiced by wizards and witches. Sidious may need a sacrifice however. To practice Sith Sorcery, one needed to either be born with the talent, or make some sort of sacrifice. The King Ommin had to sacrifice his motor control. Sidious' sacrifice could be lesser if he has a greater affinity. 4) Glad you liked it. And yes, that seems like something she'd do.

Beleriond

More like the aneurysm attempting to recreate them is going to give him and the Prophets of the Dark Side. As for ten, no. a very disapointed, very angsty 7 maybe?

vimesenthusiast

1) The mercenary aspect is an interesting one to try and follow up on. I am not certain the Death Watch would be willing to work for a Jedi though regardless. But… Vos and Vosa could make use of them in the shadows… Hmm… 2) Serenno seems to be getting more votes, it is just the question of is it important enough to devote entire fleets (200 plus Lucre Hulks and accompanying ships) to at this juncture – because the defenses would demand even more than that. that is the minimum needed to try and blockade Serenno for any length of time. Have to apologize a bit here – some of the numbers thrown out on the wiki in terms of what constituted a fleet just didn’t match any actual battle described in any of the various formats – books, Clone Wars, comics – that I’ve seen. So I honestly am still having trouble getting a handle on the logistics side of things myself. Given the size of the two opposing forces it is really hard to do!! 3) That is what I was asking. What I might do is have Sidious become aware of runes, but have no idea of what they are/how they work and then show the Prophets of the Dark Side screwing up trying to figure them out. Right, this is why I said I wanted to wait until Semblance, FILFy and ATP were all done before I took up another story. Outside of Hela? Huh. That’s a first. Are you complaining about just the romantic aspect or her character in general? As much as this romance basically forced itself on me, I think it’s going rather well, given all the issues facing it. As for romance in MW, yes, you have a point. To me, the Jenny romance is a bit too… not certain how to put it, but I had to chance Jenny’s personality too much to make them fit. Juvia is a different matter, her being interested in the first boy who shows interest in her and is nice to her etc. is canon, and I think she’s the type to want a piece of the pie even if sharing – which I used in the Edolas arc. Beyond that… I really did make up this romance as I went along beyond Erza. Mira bowing out was startling, but that is just the way the muse goes. Seliah showing interest then shifting to Wendy (becoming a true Oneesama waiting for Wendy to grow up LOL) surprised me as did Edo-Wendy first flirting then backing off. If I had to put it into words, I feel as if I let me muse instead of my realistic brain drive that aspect of the story too much. It’s too late to change it now though. Although I will point out that the HP/RWBY fic is a harem fic as well you know? And as an aside, do you read Sword, Bow and Horse? I am wondering what you think of the romance in that fic.

1. Not immensely knowledgeable about the nuances between the two dragon flights myself, I mainly just looked at their personalities on Wikipedia, and try to decide which flight overall may have someone that would mesh well with him. 3. I didn’t know that their intelligence relied on an external source, and the fact that the trolls are using them as minors helped their intelligence, really is ironic lol. There are still the dwarves and gnomes as well, so the goblins aren’t the most necessary factor in the world either. 4. Sorry if my suggestions were dumb, I just figured he might’ve heard about the printing press from someone like Hermione, and I don’t really know how exposed he was to the Muggle world. If he had ever watched an action movie of some kind, during his adult life, either by himself or with Hermione, he may well have seen bullet casings or the rifling in a gun from one of those slow motion action shots. The same thing with a water wheel, even if he has no idea how it works, either seen it in some kind of movie or it coming up in a book he might’ve read would be plausible. I simply don’t know what kind of exposure he has had to the world at large in regards to Muggle knowledge. I didn’t really expect him to have any in-depth knowledge in regards to many of these concepts, simply know that they exist, and the basic idea of them. I also don’t know what he read in his off time when he wasn’t fighting. Military history, fantasy, just books about magic, not really sure. This was just my two cents. 1. In regards to their culture, I am mostly pulling from Wikipedia and other fan fiction stories I have read, a basic understanding for me is that they have a warrior culture with their own code that they live by. Though I also know that they have extremists on both sides in regards to pacifism and the blackwatch. Though I didn’t really think on how he would get an unbiased view of it, not really sure what kind of sources are out there in the Star Wars universe to find that kind of information, and something that hasn’t been manipulated by one faction or another. Sorry for the oversight. 3. Yes, I think that would be interesting. They would know what would be possible once they see it for themselves, even if they see a very damaged version of it, they may be able to get a basic understanding using their own connection to the force, to start experimenting on their own. Definitely getting nowhere near what Harry Potter can do, considering that started with a strong base of knowledge and then experimentation, but figuring things out on their own might be possible. Like you said, using Sith alchemy, and seeing if they can figure out rooms. Though I imagine some catastrophic accidents even worse than what Lily encountered with her also happen.

MotF: 3.Explosions don’t mean they would stop. And the mere existence of runes would be a major leg up to trying to create their own. As to the danger, Sidious has a lot of Prophets of the Dark Side to throw at the problem. LOL. 4)No she isn’t going to be happy, I am just thinking of how she would respond. Exploding isn’t in Padme, I feel, no, she is more of a quite, biting sort of guilt trip that makes you feel like a puppy who has widdled on something he shouldn’t. Hmm… Mass Effect. Now, there have been a few here (Harry Potter Geth is amazing and funny). But I don’t know of a full merger – one where Harry and his generation of wizards are born into the world of Mass Effect at the time of first contact or right before… That could be interesting. I could write up a concept for that one if enough people are interested (like this post). But I wouldn’t get into it until one of my two SW stories is done. My Sci-fi muse is being fully fed right now with those. Last Airbender. You know I have never gotten into it? I think I would like to, and I might make time when I can in October, but we will see. Pokemon… huh. Never even considered this one. Pokegirls, maybe? that’s my inner pervert talking obviously, but it could still be interesting. A HP/Firefly fic has been done and done very well. Not certain I could better it. Thanks for providing the HP concepts link. I am going to take those and edit them into the thread post.

While I both dragon types are interesting pairings, I think I see one problem... If I remember the lore right (and please correct me if I'm wrong) only the head of the blue dragonflight is alive... I thought during the "War of the Ancients" was when Death wing killed all the active blue dragons except Malygos... Basically, Deathwing convinced the other Aspects to pool a portion of their power into an artifact to drive off the deamons. Afterwards Deathwing turned the artifact on the other dragons. Malygos ordered his flight to attack Deathwing because of the betrayal and Deathwing turned the artifact on them... it was loneliness and grief that eventually drove Malygos mad. My own headcannon is that it was orcastrated by the old ones that corrupted Deathwing in order to corrupt another Aspect. After the events of Warcraft III, Ronin went into the past and hid a batch of blue dragon eggs and thereby saving the Blue Dragonflight... Harry could find the hidden batch prematurely... but then would be raising the young dragons... 🤔

A full effusion would be interesting, and considering how detailed your stories are, and the amount of world building you put in, I think it would be fun to read. Though whatever you choose, I’m sure it will be fun to read.

Christian Jeffress

In Cataclysm when they were introduced fully they are more environment destroying capitalists and all about gaudy structures and entertainment.

Justin Sully

Hmm... I have an old Overlord/HP concept somewhere. Think that's the closest I've ever gotten to a evil Harry. As to having him act as a villain due to skewed info, that is a new on one me. UNcertain how I could do that one, although perhaps something like the old Battletech Clans? - when he is raised as a wolf or Jade Falcon and really believes the whole Crusader angle, that they are conquering the Inner Sphere for the people's own good? But then, how to get him to that world when he is young enough to be so molded but old enough to have acess to magic would be an issue. Regardless of world really.

vimesenthusiast

Almost all those old stories are Ranma fics though. Is that fair to my HP only fans?

vimesenthusiast

Hmm... never got into HunterxHunter, though I do know about it. As for the other, I thought about a DC/HP cross. But it's been done so often I would have to narrow the focus down a lot so as to not go over old ground, or give Harry so much of a power up that he wouldn't even start the story as Harry. The only way then to keep him as the character he is would be to do a full fusion. Those are hard but rewarding, and I suppose i could go that route... without using the old 'bumbling wizards' trope too often though.

vimesenthusiast

I missed the hp/crossover question before. The RWBY was the most interesting to me, followed by the Sawyer one

Justin Sully

Yes on the first. I however have moved well away from the school setting and can't see going back into it willingly. Fairy tail, I could write up a concept, but I am approaching burn out with Fairy Tail at present. That's partly why I am doing a cultivation/exploration chapter, since that lets me build without any need to look at the lore.

vimesenthusiast

2. But, but Shaladrassil being the oldest makes no senses (WHINE) - Nordrassil was created after the sundering by the Aspects all blessing the darn thing 4. I would want to introduce them earlier so that they are being mass produced by the time the Horde arrives. Also... lets face it, the humans in WoW are... lame. They need help. 3. American stereotypes? Uhh... how? Small, green (money grubbing I suppose i will give you heard that one before) mad scientist types?

vimesenthusiast

1). Personality is always important indeed, and at this point, I think the Blue Flight has retreated into a sort of self-imposed internal exile – Malygos certainly has. Remember they were nearly slaughtered thanks to Deathwing’s betrayal. I also think the reds are… more primal I suppose? More emotional certainly. I don’t think Alexstraza will get involved with Harry, but his life force could be interesting, as well as his basilisk given smell (old, powerful, male reptile) 3) That is what I am thinking, although they wouldn’t be very trustworthy. They are very much a me-first, money first culture, eventually. There’s also the fact their intelligence relies on a external source – some kind of mineral that their ancestors were exposed to that heightens their intelligence. Ironically, the trolls who conquer them force the dumb gobs into mining the stuff, which over a few generations brings their intelligence back up. IRONy!! 4) Printing press is one thing, paper another, water wheel, steam power, rifling, yes. I could see a Harry who hasn’t been in normal school since he was eleven know about those. Cannons too of course, and the importance of waterways//aqueducts, roads, and the roman legion model of warfare and field engineering. Compass uncertain, basic medical know how yes. MoTF: 1) What culture would that be exactly? And how would Harry get an unbiased view of it? That’s the problem with the SW universe. There is no such thing as a biased history. the Jedi certainly aren’t biased whatever they might say. So Harry would have to combat that bias as well as find Mandos willing to talk to a Jedi. Since most Jedi wouldn’t pee on a Jedi if he was on fire, that would be tough. 3)So not reverse engineering so much as creating their own versions after learning of their existence? That isn’t a bad idea. I quite like the idea of them attempting to figure out where Sith Alcehmy ends and runes begin.

vimesenthusiast

All of those old stories are Ranma fics though. I don't want to just cut out two of my five HP stories and not replace them with something.

vimesenthusiast

DA: 1) Hmm, on the Phoenix half, hadn’t even thought of that one. I was making the assumption that since basilisks don’t exist on Azeroth, he would simply smell of powerful male reptile – like a male dragon almost but wilder. Bronze flight have been told to keep their grubby mitts off. Death isn’t the only eternal force that was interested in getting Harry to Azeroth. The blude dragon flight is interesting since I know some things about how that flight is run, and I don’t like it. Right now he’s basically in self-imposed exile along with what survives of his flight after Deathwing’s betrayal, mad with grief and horror, using the tethers I mentioned to sustain himself. But later, when revived he overreacts to how much magic has spread among the mortal races in all it’s forms. He then goes off the deep end wanting to wipe out those he perceives as misusing magic – I.E. everyone. That is not a good thing. 4) LOL. But how would Harry know about the effective side of Britain? All he knows is the Ministry of Magic. Still, he knows about delegation and maybe a few tricks that would make things easier for her. Magic tech is an option going forward, that is what I meant by steampunk. Think Warjacks from the Iron Kingdoms, maybe and guns too. Eventually. Several thousand years down the line. I am mainly interested in seeing people’s opinion on when to do the introducing. MotF: 1) they are interesting but right now there aren’t many ‘real’ Mandos. The New Mandos and the Death Watch, those are the choices of those who live on Mandalore. If it gets out that the clones were made from Jango Fett, the Death Watch will hate them and the rest will loathe the Republic even more. Their reaction to the GDL with it’s concept of self-defense and self-determination may bring a few of the clans who haven’t allied with either into it, but not quickly. 2) That was my thinking too, but the headquarters and the Jedi training center being on Serenno could also be compelling for Dominus. 3) He’s already used a few bits and dribbles of alchemy, and yes, I intend to introduce more as the story goes along. 4) That was the kind of reaction I wanted to see, thank you. She will react badly but not unthinkingly. The lovers after all haven’t said yes to Chumei yet, and Padme does get a vote, which will appeal to her democratic loving side. After she has quietly ripped into Harry and Aayla with guilt and shock as her weapons of choice, she will then turn to humor. Heh: Padme: “Um, if we are going to discuss this then vote on it, I will now proceed to filibuster this entire meeting. To wit…”

2. Point. Plus the High Command is centered there. It is just that even trying to blockade the system would warp the rest of their war effort. Maybe sending Harch there with a smaller, more elite force to interdict and nibble at the system makes more sense. This is all sort of speculation mind you, so who knows how it will really go. 3. The Sith have access to a group called the Prophets of the Dark Side. They are dedicated researchers and learners. - They were put in charge of trying to figure out the new Jedi Powers that Harry and Lily introduced. So if they get a bit enough sample...

vimesenthusiast

Good point about the museum

idk

Everything but field trip to a museum sounds workable. I am uncertain if the Blue Aspect is that crazy, or simply that crazy to keep magic out of the hands of those who would abuse it... the lore is very up and down on that point. As for the museum, you need parental permission for that. So... yeah...no.

vimesenthusiast

100% behind 'A Mother-Requested' cross after that maybe 'A Name to Conjure With' Probably should have linked HP idea posts lol

Treant Balewood

1. Yeah and Harry won’t have much truck with either side of that debate. The ultimate pacifists versus the deathwatch ugh. 2. In canon correllia tried to be neutral didn’t work. So yeah it is a major target. But it is also a VERY toothsome one, meaning it would distort the overall war effort to try and attack, or blockade. 3. But the sixth wouldn’t care about the cost, and have a group of researchers already… not saying it would be easy, but if the Sith discover the existence of runes, they will stop at nothing to possess them.

vimesenthusiast

While letting Harry cut the enforced loyalty might work, it also might start a civil war in the blue flight, since I doubt the freed blue would just sit back and do nothing to rescue the rest of the flight from it's insane leader, and said insane leader isn't going to sit back and do nothing as someone is breaking the bonds that he made, likely resulting in him trying to end it violently As for Harry knowing things, he would know things like what steam is and that it can be used to power things, but everything that he would know about technology would mostly be along the lines of knowing that it exists, with a few things being more detailed because he would have seen examples of them before with things like class field trips to a museum from before he turned 11.

idk

2. It is less so from the CIS perspective, but remember that Serenno is a considerable source of money for the war effort and has been the source of many R&D projects that have made the war more difficult for the CIS, taking efforts to destroy what could be considered one of your enemies main R&D facilities would be a beneficial thing for their war effort 3. Maybe eventually, but reverse engineering the runes shouldn't be something quick, rather it should take months, years or possibly even decades depending on the amount of time that can be dedicated to it by professionals (the average Sith apprentice probably wouldn't be able to learn it from reverse engineering, requiring a full Sith Lord like Sidious to properly study them), and at this point how much spare time do the professionals have given the war has already started?

idk

Oooh. I didn’t know about the interest in engineering that sounds cool. magic: 1. Depends on what you mean by Mandos and by leaders. He new mandos are pacifists to the point of quakers. The death watch on the other hand are mercs who hate the new mandos and republic and everything they stand for. 2. That seems to be the consensus. 3. True and damaging the array is part of the failsafes. But even knowing of their existence could be huge.

vimesenthusiast

2. That makes sense, but I was thinking from a purely CIS perspective. 3. They do have countermeasures and Jedi aboard each such ship. But my question is about succeeding in reverse engineering the runes would be too much.

vimesenthusiast

In canon, the leader of the blue flight is insane and has bound the others of his flight to him with magic. My thought was maybe having Harry being able to cut that enforced loyalty. true on that, though beyond the use of water I want to make certain it makes sense that Harry knows something before sharing it.

vimesenthusiast

That was my concern yes.

If you use the tag story ideas you should find them. I haven’t added them all together to a single post, sorry.

Death’s Avenger: 1. For me it would depend on when this would take place, I could see one of Senegos' brood taking an interest in Harry during his time at the Broken Isles and deciding to research him which grows to fuck buddies occasionally, but I can also see some of the younger Red dragonflight getting a kick out of Harry's phoenix side. 2. A lot of Wow's lore is like that especially since BC if not before lol. I could see it starting off as a tree that was a connection to the Emerald Dream that after the Sundering slowly grew to become a world tree through the changing of Ley Lines on Broken Isles or something like that. 3.Personally I think you could run with the whole Cartel aspect that seems so intrinsic in their introduction to WoW, seeing your take on how Harry's ripple effects changes them would be very interesting. 4. Kept vague but showing them images etc. through magic that leads to a magi-tech/Steampunk revolution as various factions and races try their own methods to make them would be very interesting to see for me. Magic of the Force: 1. I think it would depend on how they would react to the Mando/sith Clones and the Republic Clone Army, I could see them splintering into a number of factions maybe even having each Clan going their own way. Given Harry is both a Jedi and the Successor of Dooku I could see that also causing him a number of problems with some Mandos too. However, I really like the idea of Harry tearing Satines stance etc. to shreds in a way that would make Fay proud, whilst also causing the Mandos to respect him a lot. 2. I could see them sending a Feint to attack Corellia while the main attack from the Sith is actually Sorenno to take out that Academy/ heart of the GDL. 3. I would have to agree with what others have already said regarding the difficulty of Runes and Fay's warnings regarding Runes falling into the wrong hands, I could see the Runes of the Freighter being damaged either on purpose or due to battle causing Sidious to end up overlooking them since he never realised just what they were capable of or something. 4. I think it would be interesting to see Padme having a bit of a visceral reaction to this and surprising herself and her close friends who know about it etc. however I also think she should be able to regain her wits quite quickly to think things over, though still occasionally feel jealous/ worried and having to tamp down on those reactions for a while. Concepts: Personally I would love to see you start A different Kind of Magic your HP/FoZ story, both for the Take no Shit Potter and the fact there are so few decent FoZ fics out there and your Homage episodes really whet my appetite for that lol. However I did like a number of your HP concepts so would no doubt still read whatever you decide on lol.

Thomas Edwards

Deaths Avenger: 1.) its honestly a tossup either would work just fine. A Red dragon would probably get a kick out of Harry's nature/method of renewal. A Blue would absolutely be fascinated at the mechanics of his very being, not to mention the unique magic of the HP setting. I could see either being fun to read about. 2.) Shaladrassil as a tree is older. It was around before Kalimdor was sundered and Nordrassil came about post-sundering. Whether Shaladrassil was a world tree, or if it was significant in any fashion isn't clear. It would be up to you ultimately. It could easily just be a conduit into the Emerald Dream that grew into a world tree over time. 3.) Goblins are cool! Their intelligence comes from Kajamite, some magic material that may or may not be some derivative of Azeroth's (The Titan inside the planet) magical essence. You could have a fascinating arc dealing with this gradual intellectual decay and the Goblin's efforts to counter balance it. The crazy explodey/super greed facets of their society seems to be a result of this decay and their desperation to acquire resources to delay it. 4.) Steampunk is alreay present in setting with Dwarves and Gnomes. Hell those two species are arguably more technologically advanced than real world humans. So no real biggy for Humans to advance more technologically. Not that IRL tech would be all that helpful on the battlefield. WoW is a real high magic setting where a man on horseback with Steel Lance could easily fight a tank and win. IRL guns may as well be Airsoft. Tech in WoW seems to be more of a branch of magic than anything else. Their "muskets" fire as fast as and just as accurately as real world rifles. However a bow can be just as effective in damage, range and accuracy. All steampunk would really do on the battlefield is change the aesthetic. Off the battlefield however IRL tech could have huge benefits and boons for society at large. Just concepts of industrialization, farming and governance could be huge game changers.

MAGIC 1: Honestly, the Mandalorian arc is an all-or-nothing one, I've come to see. You can either dedicate everything to it, or you must disregard it because otherwise they will strike back eventually. So, I propose a third idea: do as you're trying to do in Horse, and have they become their own large faction within their area of space. Given Pre Vizsla's attitude in canon, he would've been FAR more interested in securing his rule and their old society to give a fuck about the greater galaxy at that time. So, let him. MAGIC 2: unfortunately Corellia really IS that important of a target, I feel. MAGIC 3: Honestly, yes, the Sith replicating the runes without the proper know-how knowledge really WOULD BE too much. It would actually be rather amusing to see Sidious's reaction to that revelation! Heheheheh!! MAGIC 4: 10. Totally a ten. You gotta put some tension and drama between her and them SOMEHOW after all.

Tellemicus Sundance

Magic of the Force 1. This is a tough one, because you can’t replicate what you did in Horse. In Horse, the mandalorians saw Ranma as a kindred spirit (because he was), whereas Harry is first and foremost, a jedi. I think having them join the GDL, or the republic is a tough ask. I think that they are more likely to be a third party who act as highly skilled mercenaries for the highest bidder. If you want to make them likable, then maybe you can find a way to direct them towards some of the evils in the world that aren’t connected to the Sith or the confederacy, like the Hutts, or the institution of slavery in general (idea from story - havoc side of the force). 2. I think the Corellia attack has been done. It was done well, but it’s time to move onto something else. Either one of the options you stated could work well. 3. I would prefer they didn’t. I don’t mind them being able to copy some of Harry’s magic, but I would prefer if Runes stayed unique to him. Although as I say this I’m struggling to come up with an in-world explanation as to why. Maybe show them try to replicate it, but fail to understand exactly how it was achieved, and miss an important step. Or have them replicate it, but only achieve an inferior version. General My favorite idea was actually your HP/RWBY story, so that works for me. As long as you actually complete a few stories first (stern glare). I didn’t say it during the original post, but I love the plan you came up with, and have been hoping you would do something like it for a while. For more general thoughts, I do have a bit of criticism. I love Making Waves, it’s the story that originally convinced me to become a patron, but I think the romance aspect of that story is the worst you’ve done. I freely admit that I’ve never been a fan of the harem angle. I tend to feel that it adds little if anything to a story, but it does make it less realistic in my eyes. That said, in other stories you’ve done a masterful job adding it into stories like Wild Wolf, and a Third Path to the Future (outside of Hela). The way you added Emma Frost in particular was masterful in ATP. In those stories (and others) you’ve done things like made the women attracted to each other independently of the male, or made it a societal norm, or come up with some other explanation to make it work. However, in MW this seems to be absent. Ranma is clearly the center of this, and you really didn’t explain why the others were okay with it. It feels like a pointless fan service, and given the timing of things, it felt really unfair to Erza at the beginning. There was a point in the Edolas arc where I seriously considered giving up on this fic due to this, prior to them finally having a serious talk on this subject later in the arc. I realize it’s a little too late to do anything about this in MW, I just want to see if this can be prevented in the future. I’m not saying you shouldn’t keep doing multi pairings, you’ve got too many fans who want them, and you clearly enjoy writing them, but please try to keep them more realistic. I think part of the problem was that in MW you sort of made up the pairing as you went along, whereas in other fics it was planned from the start, or an early point.

Scott

Death's Avenger: Don't know the lore well enough to be useful. From reading the wiki, they (accidentally?) made Shaladrassil older by dint of a pre-sundering entity being an offshoot of it, though you could argue it wasn't a world tree at the time, so up to you. That said, definitely a good idea to ignore some of the stupider stuff, because WoW has some really stupid bits of lore. I am a fan of the steampunk idea, however you decide to implement it (Gnomes are already pretty steampunk so maybe Harry can spark that development early and they become a bigger faction). Magic of the Force: No opinion on 1 and 2 3) I would liken it to things like our findings of Linear A. Even if they manage to figure out that those runes are the source of the effect (should they capture a ship with runes), they wouldn't be able to understand or decipher any of it, and as others have stated, attempts to replicate would be more likely to result in explosions than success. 4) I can't imagine her being happy about it, but I don't think she would explode/overreact. For concepts: had to go digging to find them, as it has been a while. all the concepts except HP/RWBY seem to have been collated. I'd say my top two are HP/RWBY or Harry Sawyer. I'd prefer an HP/Buffy (taking place primarily in the Buffy setting, but merged world so we still have some interaction with his HP friends, possibly some of them joining him, would be preference) or HP/Worm fic (I'd be a fan of Harry in Worm or Taylor in HP, though I guess a merged world could be interesting), but you have already stated your feelings on those, and they are definitely fair (Worm can get pretty grimderp, even ignoring the sequel I refuse to read, and Joss Whedon seems to enjoy his characters suffering a little too much). Plus, we are going by existing concepts, so we are limited to what you have come up with already. If we can come up with other ideas, excluding the two crossovers I already mentioned, I'd say next preferences are Mass Effect, Avatar (tLA/LoK, not James Cameron), or Pokemon. If you reconsidered an HP/Worm fic, I'd be decent as a lore beta. Kinda interested in HP/(Firefly/Serenity), but that show died too early for all but the bare bones of a world (the movie added some back story, but not a ton), and it is mainly just me liking the characters, so not sure what you could do there. Links for the two posts: List of HP concepts I found: https://www.patreon.com/posts/mother-requested-37126382 (HP/RWBY) https://www.patreon.com/posts/which-hp-idea-24757076 (several) not a crossover but Harry is inspired by Tom Sawyer/Huck Finn not a crossover, Harry w/lineage, Harry abducted by Goblins (helpfully), ancient magic from lineage HP/HOTD HP/FoZ HP/MHA

1-3: Not well versed in WoW Lore, sorry. Yay dragons? More a High Elf fan, myself. 4: Have Harry give inspiration, perhaps? I seem to remember there being a fair amount of magical stuff in the tech of WoW (cores and such) so the sheer availability of stuff may be a bottleneck. Outside of founding/funding research I don’t know what Harry *knows* that would be useful to pass on. Perhaps if he can call upon the souls of inventors or something, via magic based on but not using the same method as the Resurrection Stone to avoid the pain. 1: Have someone suggest reaching out to them as additional interdiction forces or even just so the other side doesn’t hire them? Not sure how large a fleet they have. They could be straight up hired as shock troops by whichever side thinks to make a real offer first. 2: Gonna have to re-read, because it’s been a minute. Push comes to shove, logistics or intel can guide the target to be whatever you want it to be. 3: No. They shouldn’t be able to take one intact, would be my vote. Someone said something about self-destructing sequences, which makes sense for proprietary info, and I would assume they would be incorporated. Better to lose the ship/ment than the runes. Especially since Fay had those visions of runes getting out being BAD. 4: Depends entirely on how she finds out. The more surprising/left out of the loop she feels, the worse it should be. I concur that she should probably have some reservations regardless, but yeah. Crossovers: Curious thought, what about Harry taking over or being a villain? Not sure if you mean to go the route of Death’s Avenger or Stallion of the Line, but having him be a member of White Fang or something could be interesting. Especially if all his initial info is skewed. Claiming leadership and making something his own faction seems to be Harry’s MO at this point, which I enjoy.

A Good Hunter

For DA I can’t say much as I’ve not had a chance to read it as I’ve honestly gotten distracted on the days I’ve said I’ll give it a read, but as a casual partner a Blue dragon seems better as a arcane dragon seems less inclined to attachments than a life dragon. Now onto Magic: 1) The Manderlorions sound interesting and I do like Belemiond suggestion of sending off against slavery, though I don’t thing they become as fast friends as Ranma did due the personality not meshing as well. 2) Taking into account the Siths attitude towards Harry’s faction I’d imagine that Serenno would be a target of interest for them. 3) Regarding Runes imagine looking at a sentence in a different language and being told it’s talking about expanded space, your not going to have a clue what goes where. Runes where trial and error even with a teach who know what they all mean, long-term yeah smith could eventually figure it out but short-term all there going to guess is symbols put together go boom so they have some new explosives that are force activated and that’s it for short term. Though I guess they would still have what ever ship they captured as well. New Story’s) Now regarding your last question on new story’s, while I do enjoy reading your story concepts I feel that you should take the chance to narrow the polls or reactive some old story’s that did not do as well.

TheLazyShadow

Harry Potter/Hunter X Hunter might be fun, reborn in the Zaoldyeck family. Harry Potter/Constantine crossover would be crazy, reborn as the son of Constantine and an Angel halfbreed. He was certainly have his share of enemies, one hell of a teacher and his father, some interesting storylines in the DC universe, and a Raven and Starefire paring. Or Cassandra Cain for a more mortal paring if you want.

DA 1. Hm, probably Blue, not least of all cuz they tend to be the forgotten Flight a lot of the time. 2. We don't actually know... Yeah they didn't bother to fill that in. But from their own lore, Shaladrassil should have been old enough to have survived the Sundering, which would make it the oldest. There's so little information you could probably just do what you want. 3. Goblins are fun, very American stereotypes. Main issues with them is Gallywix who is probably the worst racial leader Warcraft has had and how destructive they tend to be, that would need to be toned down if they are used in a serious story. 4. You could probably just rely on Gnomes, Dwarves and Goblins for the steampunk-y elements. By the time of Warcraft 3 they are using things like steam tanks and guns, so you could just rely on them for that.

1. While I think it would be awesome for him to spend some time and create a relationship with a blue dragon considering their knowledge and magic, I do think a red dragon would get along better with Harry. Considering the culture of red dragons prioritizes the protection of life, I think a red dragon would’ve better get along and understand Harry Potter’s desire to protect others and constantly throw himself into danger because of that desire. Not that blue dragons can’t have that mentality as well, but it seems to be more natural for the red dragon culture. Considering their connection to life and understanding of death, I think a red dragon would also better understand Harry Potter’s new life cycle, with a death and rebirth, being reborn in fire. 2. I don’t know enough about the lore to be able to answer this, sorry. 3. I think the goblins can be very interesting, may be a tentative ally than a stable one. Their knowledge of explosives and technology could also be very useful. 4. Introducing certain historical pieces of technology should be interesting, even something like the printing press would have a profound impact on the spread of knowledge and education. In regards to guns, even if he doesn’t have sophisticated knowledge, bringing certain concepts to goblin or dwarf innovators should be very helpful as well. Such as rifling in the barrel of a gun for better bullet stability, using a casing for bullets, or even remembering that basic design of a six shooter. Bringing these concepts to others that already work in that field, building basic forms of firearms, will allow for further innovation, even if it takes a bit more time. Also things like the water wheel, the compass, and basic medical knowledge such as cleanliness, proper bathing schedules, washing your hands, disinfecting wounds, and so forth. Magic could definitely help a lot in regards to healing, but the information might be useful to keep a wound from festering before you get to a healer. 1. I think the Mandalorians could be incredibly useful and a very loyal as long as Harry Potter or the one who is interacting with them understands their warrior culture. Approaching from a position of strength will be a must with them, as well as making sure they respect Harry Potter’s capabilities as a leader and a warrior, something he might have to prove going through their own trials. Future problems might arise, but I think keeping their culture in mind, will allow for future stability as well. 2. I don’t really have much to say regarding this question, I will leave it to the better informed and more knowledgeable on wartime tactics. 3. Regarding the usage of runes, I think allowing the Sith to be able to get something out of learning them would be OK, but I think it would be very difficult as well. Something along the lines of the Darkside of the force adding a corrupted influence on many of the usual uses that can be found. With the more destructive and pain inducing ideas being created, like rune bombs, traps, and so forth, rather than the more utilitarian uses that can normally be found. And considering how destructive the Darkside can be even towards practitioners that aren’t controlled, maybe you can also have an unstable effect on runes used by them as well, with some form of time limit because of dark side erosion on the runes 4. I think a five or a 5.5 would be about understandable.

DA 1blue would be more fun for talks and learning magic perhaps starts out as an exchange of magical lore. 2 think he used fell since the result was curruption in the animal like the satyr and the like. 3 goblins are fun as comedy but as a race there drugg addicts in that ran out there getting more stupid by the generation not sure how i feel about that lore wise. was fun when it was thought off but in 2021 setting ? 4 vague idea's of steam and shape of bullets and so on could work let the dwarf's and gnome's with the humans do the rest. might also give warning and teach druid magic for the forest's MoF 1could be fun dirrected in a direction and keep a decent deal but unless ya want to focus allot on the issue's best to keep it at that 2 pick a other target to spice things up would be better i think 3 neh the sith should not be able to do so should be harry faction only thing. 4 meh make it a nice 6.5 as for what i like best is marvel or warcraft or star wars universe as for other story think its best to complete a few of the older story's first before starting ruby ?

Forgot about this for the last post, but I'm very sorry to hear about Philadelphia, and I hope things improve for you and your neighbours. Death's Avenger: 1) It's hard to say. Harry's phoenix half could certainly attract a Red Dragon, but his connection to Death, both as the Master of the Hallows and being part basilisk, could make them deeply uncomfortable as well. A Blue Dragon would be interested in him because of his unique magic and connection to the Arcane. Whether that interest is purely scientific or not is up in the air. The Bronze Flight is also likely to take an interest, primarily for him changing the timeline, but also since he is already deeply connected to fate and time (Prophecy, Time-turner). It would be interesting to see a dragon-phoenix-basilisk hybrid though. 2) Not enough lore knowledge to comment. 3) Same answer as above. I've heard that they are very similar to HP goblins in temperament, so do what you want. I remember that at least one of them was very interested in alchemy. 4) Steampunk and gunpowder probably not, but Harry could introduce better farming methods, and more importantly, for Tyrande at least, bureaucracy. Harry comes from a country that had a very effective government (Pre-Brexit), so he could give her ideas on how to reform her own. Better yet he could help her delegate a lot of her responsibilities. Outright democracy wouldn't really work on a world where individuals are able to overwhelm entire armies, but a constitutional monarchy with parliament could work. Since his knowledge of runes is quite advanced, is magi-tech an option? 5) Not enough knowledge to comment. Magic of the Force: 1) A warrior culture is always interesting, and I do personally find the New Mandalorian movement to be short-sighted and stupid. I think, that if you wanted to make best use of them, you would need a rallying cry, a cause to fight for. My suggestion would be slavery. Mandolorian culture deeply values independence and self-reliance. Adapting that to freedom isn't that much of a stretch. The fact that the clones, a slave army, were created from a Mandalorian could also have influence here. Just thinking about the Mandalorians declaring all out war on the Huts gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling. 2) I think that Corellia should still be attacked, or at least that it would still be a priority for the Sith. Even if it wasn't a strategic threat/asset, it is the base of the Corellian Jedi. The whole point of the war is to kill as many Jedi as possible, so them attacking it to kill the Corellian Jedi in battle just makes sense. 3) Maybe Sidious could look into Sith Sorcery, and more advanced forms of alchemy than his disguise. The ancient Sith used sorcery to create force artefacts and alchemy to create armies of monsters. 4) That depends on the scale. Is 1 apathy or does it mean she's eager for her to join? Does 10 mean she's upset, or does she fly into a murder suicide rampage over her lovers cheating? Personally, I think she would feel at least a little threatened. Padme hasn't really been outright confronted with the idea of more lovers yet, and Chume's position puts her on higher social standing the Padme's. She is also likely to be a bit jealous of Chume's looks, or at least colouring. She could eventually accept it, but not immediately. I do love the HP/RWBY idea. Could a HP/DC story work, or is that too close to Marvel? What about Elder Scrolls, or maybe Witcher? Either could work very well with HP. Witcher even has a preexisting mechanic for world migration.

Sorry that didn’t work let’s try this again 1. What Harry is going for would appeal to Mandolorians but he is a Jedi and you have Sabine to address either way. They might take a bit. 2 I would think Dac is still too little known and out of the way to make a good target yet but a decent attack on them and Serreno at the same time could work if you really want to avoid Corrilia. However Corrila is a HUGE target and must be addressed. 3 Not a chance. Not only should there already be a system to destroy the ship if necessary but it also doesn’t make sense. Lily messed the runes up when she knew what she was doing. Trying to copy or even study them should just lead to death by explosion or space collapsing in on itself. 4. 6 she would be insecure about her new unusual relationship but she grew up and works with people who deal with this all the time

Death's Avenger: While I like the idea of Harry seducing the Dragonqueen, I think a blue dragon would make more sense given their being the dragonflight of magic and their love of research - a passion of Harry's. From the WoWwiki: "Historically, dragons have had a reputation for spending their days in solitary contemplation of the secrets of the world, but in recent times blue dragons have proved to be more social due to the growing threats to all living creatures. In addition to their noted obsession with magic, blue dragons also enjoy researching other subjects. They could be called the academics among dragons; they have begun to serve more and more as the teachers of younger members of other species. While in humanoid form, many dragons also notice the scientific discoveries of other races and take an increasing interest in the development of engineering and similar studies." Magic of the Force: 1) I think the Mandos could go either way really or even hit out at both. I think it depends more on the morals of their leadership than anything else at this point. Do they care about helping make the galaxy better, cut a deal with either side or are just plain bloodthirsty? 2) I think Serenno would make more sense given the rapidly increasing threat of the new Jedi training and the growing economic might of Serenno would make it a more strategically important target. Dac is important for ship production but you need money to pay for, and trained leaders to man, those ships. 3) I don't think the Sith should be able to use the runes even if they capture a ship because as you already laid down in your story before, runes are very dangerous and even have to be carved/drawn in a specific order for each marking. That is too much for the Sith to be able to just happen to get around and utilize effectively to create any runed ships of their own. At most they should be able to barely use the captured ships due to any damage that damages the rune array would collapse the rune array and they'd have no way to repair it. Remember runes are dangerous to mess with if you don't fully understand what you are doing with you being just as likely to blow yourself up as anything else. That is something that should be reserved to only those properly trained in using them.

Magic: 2. Serenno, while Dac has the shipyards, Serenno has the training facility and Sidious would want to know about the techniques they teach there. 3. There should be countermeasures against that, it is something I would expect a military man like Garm to bring up at the very least (how to keep an enemy from finding out secrets is fairly standard for spec ops work and you don't get that high in the ranks without having to deal with spec ops)

idk

DA: 1. Depends on when it happens, because after Deathwing does so much damage to the blue flight, I can't really see many of the blue flight being accepting of any magic user for a long while. 4. While he might not know how things work specifically, even something like being able to use water power for mills or crop rotation would be incredibly helpful for people in a similar level of technology to the middle ages time period

idk

For the earth concepts. Just do vague helping. “Like oh we used steam powered things using this concept here but I don’t know the logistics so you guys can figure it out.” And I’m against the sith getting more op. They allready have thousands of years of force techniques having them master a magic art that spans just as long with only the symbols/ runes they can see and no knowledge of what they do and how to do them properly would just be way to Mary Sue.

DA 1. Red - Purely because of Alexstrasza. 2.NFI 3.Not really stressed as a player i never really got into their story (or gnomes for that matter) 4. Would LOVE to see your ideas of steam punk mixing earth stuff with magic. MOTF: 1.I like the idea of Harry challenging the leader of at least a faction of the Mandalorians which then gets them to work for him, Making them see a new way of living which still incorporates there old so they dont lose the identity. Could make a small ark of old mandas Vs New. 2.As Sernno also houses the school and all the new techniques coming from it, the logical (for the Sith) would be to send a force to stop/steal that from continuing. 3.Having a rune ship and the possibility of using that against Harrys forces on top of the veil could be stacking the deck against him, unless your have a plan in place to deal with either.

Blue dragon for Harry so she/they can also teach him arcane magic

What are all the options of crossovers for Harry Potter that you've come up with? I'm already in favour of seeing the HP/RWBY story actually start up, but what other concepts have you come up with?
