Furthermore, only Dr Vegapunk knows the technique to making an object "eat" a devil fruit barring the rare happenstance where it occurs naturally of course. I highly doubt that Zoro will gain the allegiance of Funkfreed. His character is that of a "pure" swordsman who disdains the use of abilities like those granted by devil fruits.

The seastone is not that rare, just steal it from the navy ships. The giant toad will definitely want to join the crew to follow Franky.
