Making Waves 11

Here at long last is the next chapter of Making Wa

Comments

Remember that he could died so doing it with all elements, you could in fact easily hit the dust rather sooner than later. And since this power-up happened in canon it's hard to blame author for including it. For Ranma there is a reason why he is not on Gildarts level already. His own energies are battling each others and holding him back. It's rather clever to be honest, as he can actually battle and not just totally stomp the current opponents but once he manages to find a balance or circumvent the issue he is suddenly in the top league, without friendship or Saiyan style power-up :) EDIT: Some issue with Patreon, didn't see this was already answered. But leaving it here anyway.

Thanks for taking time on top of writing the novel-sized chapters to also answer our reviews :) I would love to answer all the points again in great details, but as you yourself mentioned "Here be spoilers" :-D And while I'm ready to discuss anything regarding One Piece (Stallion) anytime you want ;-) I also love to see what the future hold for others stories and find about it within the story itself :) That said if you ever wish to consult some other of your stories be it story-wise or regarding canon feel free to ask. So to address what I can at least. 1) Ultear I think only Hades himself know what she got in mind, as he was also the one who know she can't do it and given her the idea in the first place. But to just imagine her reaction if she finds out while still working under him. Bet she would give him a hard TIME :-D Anyway agreed on all points. 2) Gray He appears to be more level headed but yes. He is definitely Natsu category of thinking in a lot of ways. Let's hope that Ur is going to find out via the different route soon. 3) Mira & Erza Agreed on her romantic views. Heh for me it's also still weird to see her more abrasive personality she retained thanks to her sister 'not dying' in your story. Erza probably won't mind travelling but she won't want to leave the guild so she is sort of limited as well. Sort of distance parameter or time (how far and how long she is okay with going).. 4) Laxus&Lucy That was just a funny idea but which I think would be quite great if it worked out. But your version is promised to be fun as well ;) Any photos? :-D 5) Wendy support magic Yes, exactly. I can see her fighting as she did due to Ranma influence. But Ranma was also the one who immediately noticed how Levy potential. So I would expect Wendy to 'buff the party' before such a big combat :) Anyway looking forward to what you mentioned for her future a lot! And of course that applies for the rest of this story and what you said :)

As for the rest of the chapter, the Galuna Island arc, it was meant to be more comedic relief than anything else. If it failed at that, I'm sorry, but i completely agree that canon events like that suck ballsack, which is why I try to keep them to a minimum and only use them as guidelines i that. As for Ranma, canon Ranma never showed any inclination toward training anyone else unless made to. With Wendy he likes the little girl a lot, and sees it his duty as the older Dragon Slayer to train her. The no kid thing makes a lot more sense when you consider that he already has more ki than Happy or Cologne in canon, and could easily live longer than either, unchanging from his current age. Ask him about kids in twenty plus years. And while Erza won't leave Fairy Tail, I don't see that as a major issue, considering Ranma's going to be staying in Magnolia for at least four months, maybe more, even without the missions that will be taking him around Fiore. Ranma will have that time to awaken in her an urrge to travel, and maybe get stronger doing it, if i go that route anyway. Also, why would taste for danger and just wanting a girlfriend turn this Jenny off? She's an S-class mage in her own right you know? And there's Seliah too.

Agree with yoru points about Natsu, and to a certain extent Ranma. But in canon Natsu was indeed that way for a very long time. His training was... blah? I mean, he trained somewhat, but only physically, he never meditated or trained in different styles, As for Ranma, he's sort of plateaued without external help thanks in part to his Demon Slayer magic. In canon that magic was seen as both magic and infection - something that would turn it's user into a demon faster than even canon Dragon Slayer magic would have. And of course, Typhon didn't embed his own essence in Ranma to keep his Dragon Slayer powers at bay, which is another infection his ki has to fight.

First, thanks for the great reivews, and for your comments on the moment of truth thread. I will be responding to that and your review from FILFy sometime tomorrow hopefully. I completely agree with your points on Ultear, and I also can honestly see Hades doing something to keep her anger and hate towards her mother 'warm' so to speak in her mind. She is also, as you said, blinded by the idea of her end-game, which she I think, keeps hidden even form her guildmates, who just believe she is as evil deep down as she is, bar Meredy (though what they think about that relationship I don't know, if they think about it at all). And Yes, Gray is stupid. VERY stupid in canon, just like Natsu and without the excuse of being raised by a dragon away from human society. However, Gray isn't the only option to tell her about how Ur reacted to her daughter's supposed death... Mira I think as a big romantic, someone who is in love with the idea of being in love, but also someoen who knows to cut her losses. If Ranma's desire to travel and not be tied down is too large, she might do so. Whereas i think Erza wouldn't mind the traveling, so long as she is getting stronger as she travels with him. Lucy/Laxus? Huh... um, that's interesting, but not what I have planned for her. After all, in canon there were hints she um, played for both teams so to speak, so... Yes, Wendy can use support magic, quite a few more than she has shown so far, but in direct combat, she uses direct combat spells thanks to her training with Ranma. Eventually she will become an enchanter yes, with a bit of a hint in the future from a certain mysteriously locked box... Seliah redeemed, um, yes and no, can't tell you more there without giving still more spoilers LOL. Will say I like her too, and think she could be interesting to see with Ranma or someone else. Mira might not have a chance to shine in the next few chapters, but I intend for her to have a major impact in the next arc, when they go after the Oracion Seis (yes, no they've lost a member they're back to their original name LOL)

Also I hated how Natsu just got a power up for eating "drugs", power like that is just *******, every thing has an upside down, feeling sick for a week is no down side, as I would spen a whole year repeating process with all elements (and then having twins taking care of him...). Then we have Ranma training every morning, adapting and improving new moves, training and meditating to get a boost and he is geting stronger slower than everyone else, that or you are making some enemies stronger than canon to have him sweat more. So yeah, you are making me hate Natsu, he is a saiyan (attacking "everyone" and getting stronger by getting defeated or biting the ground... literally) but without training except when he thinks he needs training.

It was sad seeing as half of the chapter was canon, but no problem there if you add something new there so you are not just reading the same thing again, but the canon we read didnt even follow the MC so to me it was hard just to not skip pages... I know that every good story have different PoV, but when they are that long (and when you even know (somewhat) what will happen is worst!) you just want to go back to the MC. Didnt like how Ranma thinks about the future, I mean magic and a world to explore would awake anyones wanderlust. But him not even interesting in children and maybe not even a partner, but him not wanting to share the "art" is just weird. So yeah, sadly with this Ranma romance is a dead end; Mira may like her image and show it for modeling, so it came as a shoke of her wanting a family before even hiting 20. Erza wont leave Fairy Tail not matter what, so maybe in the end just Jenny, but him not interested in nothing more than a girlfriend and his taste for danger would turn her down... It would seems that the genre would be Adventure, Fantasy, and Friendship in that order, but oh well, maybe its not longer between my favorite 3 but I still enjoy the story. Thx for the update and sorry for my english.

I really feel bad for Ultear. She is so bitter about an event, that broke her mother heart, and just getting used over and over again. While that for most people can excuse their action only to some extent. with Ultear and her expected endgame of redoing everything thanks to her time magic? Yeah, she is truly hard to be blamed. Sadly she is also probably too calculating to really repent on her current action, thanks to some part, again due to her planned endgame. So even with Ranmna around I doubt her loyalties can be switched easily. Especially as she still doesn't know the truth about her mother. Stupid Gray should have flashback to his master about how similar these two looks at least... Mira getting a taste of what it could be with Ranma worked quite well as to tear down the idealized version of what it might end up being. Still she is a big girl and can make the decision or at least try that relationship and see if it can work. Add the fact that I just plainly dislike Erza.... so go go Mira :-D Also this way they just might end up inviting Jenny to join this (stallion) ride ;-) I'm also glad to see Lucy showing some of the potential she got, and not just being the joke as it was in canon, where when she finally build up to show off good, some third party or just luck screwed her over. After all there was nothing more important than to tear her dress and let Natsu save her again :-/ I truly see this version of her ending up as an S-class mage (more golden keyes and experience) of Fairy Tail and even being with Laxus, after she grows truly confident in her abilities. I could even imagine Lucy taming him to some extent. Making the bear into more of a teddy bear :-D (at least in private) :) Otherwise a lot of interesting stuff happening and seeing Wendy go all out was truly nice. The only thing I miss with her is using more of a support magic right in the fight. But that can be sort of blamed on Ranma training which focus more on the direct combat itself. Still I hope that Wendy will be able to expand her repertoire with supporting/enchanting magic as well :) After all we saw what an Enchanter Archmage can truly do via Irene. It was also nice to seeing more of Seliah, especially when she interacted with Ranma and his group. I hope there are some plans for her. She was, at least for me, a very interesting character and I wonder if she could be redeemed. Sometimes it felt like her major motivation was the other demoness than the plan itself... But she is still very loyal so it's going to be interesting. Halphas was a good challenge and I enjoyed the fight. Can't wait to see Mirajane powerup after taking over. Especially as she may gain a water abilities which may be very interesting for Ranma. Both his Demon and Dragon slaying magic :) Really another good chapter with a lot of stuff getting done. Looking forward to more :)
