2021 and the future!

WOW what a year. In any sense of the word, good or bad.

First off, I wanna say thank you to everyone who's stuck around and supported me, even when I've been, uh, less than productive for the year! I want to let you all know that I very much do appreciate your support.

This year really has been a big year for me, hardships and triumphs combined. It's been rocky for sure. I spent a lot of the year reflecting, and feel like I've come out of it with a lot of growth, both as a person and an artist.

One of the most notable things from this year was finally seeking treatment for ADHD in September. We're still adjusting my dosage, but this has honestly felt like a huge turning point for me. It certainly helped me become more productive.

As for my art? I hope it's been self-evident, but I feel like I really grew a lot in this department. There was a lot of experimentation (and still is) and I really feel like I've learned a ton. My style definitely shifted a lot, especially in the latter half of the year, and I think I'm finally hitting a point where I'm comfortable and it feels like my style. I'm looking forward to learning more in the future!

Speaking of the future, I want to talk about my plans for 2022, regarding art and Patreon.

First on that list, let's talk comics! I've been asked about whether or not I'm still working on Princely Negotiations and the answer to that is yes. While I've personally grown a bit detached from it, I'm still working to finish it. That's actually one of my first 2022 goals; I want to finish the last 13 pages of PN2 by mid-2022, if not earlier. After that's taken care of, I'm gonna be taking a break from comics for a bit. I'm thinking I might focus more on shorter comics with a wider cast of characters, telling more short little snippets than I have been. I've already got a few ideas jangling around in my head, and I really can't wait to develop them.

Next on the list! Request streams! I haven't been doing the request streams proper in a bit; that'll be rectified starting next month! It's TBD, but I'm going to be picking a date (honestly leaning towards something like last Thursday of the month) and we'll be doing dedicated Patreon request streams. Since the pool of Platinum tier patrons is a bit...thin, I'm thinking I may do some non-guaranteed idea selection from other tiers for a bit. Unsure on that one really, and I'm probably gonna play it by ear a little bit.

Onto the other art stuff! I'm really trying to get more in the habit of drawing in my sketchbook, so hopefully, I will have some of that to post. Some of it's going to be a little wonky, because I'm really planning to buckle down and do more figure/anatomy/life studies, and I'm not sure if that's really stuff to share.

Patreon stuff! Now this one's wonky. I'm not actually sure if I'm happy with the way I'm running things here, if I'm being honest. There will probably be some shuffling around of tier rewards, some new ones popping up, and old ones disappearing. What that stuff is, I haven't really managed to think about yet. I'll definitely be updating y'all on it before it happens though.
