Gradient Maps!

Gradient maps are one of the best cheats. I use them all the time when making Falconhyrste pages! 

For example:

Here's the local flat color I'm using for page 157. Once I'm done shading, I'm going to apply a blue and green gradient over the whole thing, set it to overlay and get a color scheme similar to this:

As I've also showed, gradient maps are great ways to quickly color a greyscale image. It can turn a simple sketch into a ready-to-paint drawing! 

I find it fun to mess around with blending modes and trying to find what works best! I used it on this image to get the desired colors:

Gradient maps are used by lots of professionals to "unify" the color of a piece. Sometimes when you do flat colors, your colors can be a bit non-coordinate, so applying a gradient map over the whole thing brings the colors into more harmony.
