It's the Friday Rambles for 2025/09/12.

Not Game Dev Stuff

Mostly busy with family things this week, but I found time to do some work. I approved the final version of a merch thing. It rules. I can't wait for it to be released into the world.

This week contained a Cirno Day! That's right, I partook in a little tradition I have never missed since 2020, drawing a picture of Cirno Touhou Project for 9/9.

No Cirno, you baka! Don't do it!

New Pen

What? You think I'd go an entire week without getting a new pen?

I wanted to try out a thinner gel pen, so I got a 0.3mm Pilot Hi-Tec-C (Blue). Cheap and sturdy, and it has a cap. It writes a lot better than the 0.28mm/0.38mm Jetstreams on the smooth Hobonichi Techo paper while being just as thin, so it feels like it'll be really useful for when I need the super-fine lines.

And I got a stamp. It says "You did a good job~!". It's for when I did a good job.

Merch Stuff

Penny plushies have started arriving!

Look at this creature, squished between Kara Go Go Gris and Donpen Don Quijote, sitting on top of a bunch of PS1 Final Fantasy Discs. Thank you to everyone who got a Penny plushie, you saved her life by allowing her to buy Donkey Kong Bananza. And thank you to TwirlinCurtis, who is also a super cool patron of the arts as they say, for the post.

And as mentioned earlier in the Ramble, other merch things are moving along at a very nice pace. I'm so excited I'm mentioning it twice. So what? Sure it's not Good Smile Company noticing me and making a Skye Nendoroid, but I think I'm allowed to get excited about something for once. Stay tuned!

Patreon Exclusive Comic

That's right, as uncommitedly promised last week, I have crafted a new Patreon Exclusive Comix (albeit, a one panel comix) for you.

For the curious, Penny is using a Hobonichi Techo Original A6, and following writing tools:

• Uni Jetstream Edge (Refill swapped out for SXR-80-05 0.5 mm as 0.38mm skips too much on the Hobonichi paper)

• Uni Jetstream Edge 3 Multi (0.28mm refills swapped out for SXR-80-05)

• Tombow MONO Graph Lite Ballpoint (Refill swapped out for Jetstream SXR-5 0.5 mm)

• Stamp with a long rabbit that says "You did a good job~!"

Wow, so specific, and yet so familiar! Well, life imitates art, as they say.

Nintendo Direct

The Nintendo Direct was today. They did not announce Endless Monday: Dreams and Deadlines - Switch 2 Edition.

Once I get a Switch 2 dev kit whenever they're available for nobodies in like idk 2 years or whatever, I'll finally be able to unleash the Ultimate Version of the game. That's right! 1080p in handheld mode, mouse support, all that stuff. And when I announce Game 2 for Switch 2, I can also announce a day-one paid DLC.

That's all I have this week. Still don't have much going on, but I'll keep doing "Patreon Exclusive Comix" to make up for it. I wonder if I'll have any cool merch news for next week.
