Because of that, she moved away for a while and then everything takes place like we saw in the episode. At the end of Marina’s story, Takopi goes back in time to 2016 when they are in 4th grade, and that is where episode 1 picks up. At the very end of the episode, we are back in the 2016 timeline (Takopi flew back home from Tokyo, but it just wasn’t shown)
