Superheroic crises of faith played for melodrama and the importance of being earnest. So what is it about Raimi's Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 that succeed where Marvel movies post-Iron Man fail? And what the fuck is a "sparkle finger"?

I have a critique of Mary Jane in the raimi movies and it sucks that all the oxygen gets sucked up by the "MJ is a whore" guys. It just feels weird that we are telling a story about this girl next door and not adding in the party of MJ's personality that make her a unique and charismatic figure.it feels like Kirsten Dunst could be any peter live interest not named Gwen Stacey It feels less like raimi had a plan for adapting the character of Mary Jane and putting his own spin on it that he had an idea for a peter love interest and slapped MJ's name on it for brand recognition

Last semester, one of my classmates sent me one of those memes unprompted and it confused the fuck out of me. This guy isn't even a right-winger, he's a liberal law student, and that is his opening for talking about these movies. Crazy.
