     I'm here today to show you what we've been up to for the week, what has been accomplished, what we we hope to accomplish...And how to microwave water.

Refactor Code Update

     So we REFACTORED, OPTIMIZED, UPDATED, AND IMPROVED ALL THE EXISTING CODE THIS WEEK.

     And by we I mean Plourdy. He spent all his spare time on improving and optimizing the code. So I asked him to describe what he did for you guys and he had this to say

"a Mega Refactor happened to ensure future progress can integrate smoothly with our current codebase, ie: Making our foundation rock solid, so we can expand without running into issues like most Indies that rush stuff lol"

     This is actually a big fuckin deal, cuz this means the more future modular components and features won't break, and adding them wont break things outside the scope of the implementation! As he was also focusing on refactoring and improving the code base, this pointed to a lot of future potential bugs that we'll run into which I think is awesome, catching bugs before they happen once the features get added will have a smoother workflow for us, 

It really was a mega fucking cleanup, no more duplicate code or assets used of any type really. I'm glad it happened and is over with (for the most part...)

     While he was getting everything to a polished state, no Unity Engine progression was made due to the fact that; any change being made during the code base update could have fucked up your additions and flat out wasted our time. So I had to wait until he was done till I could even think about fondling Unity again.

Due to the nature of the updates, it took a week of planning and implementing bug fixing and changing. This is what that week of work looked like

     There was a lot of other Bullshit involved with GitHub where it wasn't adding changes to my PC properly but now its all ironed out and I can begin In engine development again! But during all this I decided to tackle Art only Assets like UI stuff while I waited for the codebase to be done.

Chapter Select UI Update                                                                     

     For those that seen it before with Zack's fucking awful and terrible shitty design made by yours truly I figured now was the best opportunity to go ahead and update the coolest part of our Menu UI...The Chapter Select UI!!!! Here's what it Looked like Before.

God its fucking shit...

Here's Zack's New Animation so far....

     The enter animations are Inked. I still have to do the Idle and Exit animations for it but those will be fairly simple. For this animation I gave Zack more personality by having him slam his leg on the coffee table, which really emphasizes his fat cock and fat cock attitude

Did I mention he has a fat cock?

     In terms of Animation Length his Enter Animation compared to the Old version was increased by 8 more frames of animation to really give it more Personality

Art UI Update                                                                                       

UI is fucking hard to design perfectly the first time to a game in development, especially if your making a game that has no previous Genre Masters. There are some up this alley but those are all pixel games made by sexy and horny Japanese men. Our UI is constantly evolving into something better every time.


     Behold our new Dialogue Panel to encase all the Player Dialogue Choice he she or it can select! I figured we need a more consistent UI theme so that it all feels sleek with a hint of grunge and all uniformed together properly.

 

I based the Dialogue Panel off of the Busts Dialogue Box

     Since Ashley's Bust got a face lift I figured I should add the new Addition to what ever else has her face on it.

     Also drew up some new Speech Bubbles for In-game Dialogue, looking at it now the Hue is off for the Pink, so I'm gonna have to tweak that.

Fonts and UI Style Guide                                                                       

     Fonts is fucking hard for me, It's just not the best talent I feel I have for picking out fonts and then making sure everything is consistent and feels nice, so that's what I also spent time doing, font shopping basically, I wanted to get a feel again to see what fonts would fit stylistically. Mainly for the CG Main text. I like what we have but I feel like it blends to much with the background and characters, in a hard to read contrasting way. I felt since my style is sorta  well stylish I should go for something more formal so it pops when you have to read something like UI stuff


Some Fonts I tried out

 I really dug the last one, it felt clean but sorta formal at the same Time so I downloaded and Loaded it up in Unity to try it out

Nothing's final yet so I'm still gonna be experimenting with fonts, but then I started to dig into actual UI Design, and some companies make a UI Style guide for consistency when it comes to menus, I figured I try my hand in it to see if I can come with some sort of rule set I can follow too. It's not finished but I'm gonna make sure it is before I progress further with more font Related stuff.
