After Hours: Inferno - Journey Through Malebolge Book Two and Three

We have finally descended into the lowest pits of Hell! Caleb, Noah, Rob, and I will guide you through the last two books of Inferno, covering the sixth through ninth circles of Hell, plus the final escape! What weirdness will this cover? Quite a bit between all the MANY descriptions of room inventories and random encounter tables.

oh yeah I saw that too. I may get it when it comes out on PDF so we can review it on After Hours but I am not going to back that Kickstarter.

So after listening to this FB kicked up this ad for a Kickstarter. Inferno - Dante's Guide to Hell for 5e, "the first original Dantesque Campaign". (Not at all creepy, thanks FB algorithms!) I think it's unconnected with the guy responsible for the books you reviewed, so hopefully there's now some grand feud between rival game designers as to who's work is the most "Dantesque". Which is the only solace I take from the fact that at least two separate people thought that "politicised version of Catholic hell" is the best setting for adventure... Anyway if you're curious: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/acherongames/inferno-dantes-guide-to-hell-for-5e?ref=android_project_share I'm going to pass myself.

It is a very Base Raiders idea isn't it?

Ross Payton

No, I think some mysteries are better left unsolved.

I asked Caleb. He was noncommittal. You may want to ask when he starts his own Patreon later this year.

Have you considered reaching out to the author of the books and maybe inviting him for a podcast? Is there a way there could be a redeeming story behind ? :D

The sword that the Angel is guarding INSTANTLY took me back to the Base Raiders oneshot where Sparkles breaks the universe out of prison. Specifically "The Sword of the Angels!", the awesome magic sword with the drawback that there's always an angel hanging around asking politely but insistently for it back.

Can we get a podcast where Caleb goes meticulously through the Divine Comedy and explains the depth and poetry to it?
