After Hours: Iron Sky RPG Combat Example and the Divided States of America

I recently found out that a RPG based on the movie Iron Sky is in production. The developer posted a 6400 word example of play on a Kickstarter update. I invited Caleb, Birk, and Rob from the Orpheus Protocol to analyze the rules given in the example. We also talk about the TV Tropes page about the Divided States of America, which increasingly feels relevant today.

Check out the Orpheus Protocol today if you haven't already.

News: Our next RPPR Livestream video watching party is on May 17 at 2 pm CST on the RPPR Patreon Discord. See you there!

Song: Terminal Man by Flowers for Bodysnatchers. Listen to our review on Night Clerk Radio.

So...RPPR is totally playing this when it comes out, right ?

I just got to the 15 minute mark in the episode and I've developed a migraine. Glad this happened to others as well when listening to the game script.

Crimson skies is one of my favorites as well. I blame being exposed to TailSpin at too tender an age, for making me love that setting so.

ooh, also, re: the Divided States discussion - I quite like the version that the video/board game Crimson Skies has, where the US is a loose collection in independent territories with no overarching government structure or interstate highways, so naturally air pirates are the order of business. Lots of evocative names like the Disputed Western Territories, the Nation of Hollywood and Free Colorado.

haha I'll pass it on to Rob!

This truly was a descent into stygian depths of rpg design madness that made me step back and re-evaluate the world around me, in ways both dark and hopeful.

I had a splitting headache after work, so I thought, ‘I shouldn’t watch something, I’ll listen to this.’ Somehow this insane system made it worse lol Special thanks to Rob for actually reading this crap.
