Sunday Supper: Open Chat

During the Q & A a couple of days ago, the idea came up for a monthly open post here, so that everyone in the Mad Fiction Laboratory can get to know each other a bit! People seemed to like the notion--think of this as a beta test.

Next month, I'll try a weird little question or something to get conversation started. But this time, just talk about whatever you want, LIKE THE OLD DAYS ON THE INTERNET WHEN WAY FEWER PEOPLE YELLED OR WERE EVIL BOTS. Introduce yourself, talk about the weather, dragons, tea, dogs, anything and everything.

This space is yours!

Hello Everyone, I wanted to know if any of you have tried to email the author@catherynnemvalente.com and received a response saying the email couldn't go through because of the DNS server not existing? If anyone has any solutions to the problem I would greatly appreciate it, as I wanted to reach out and thank her personally for her incorporation of diverse folklores in her work and ask some specific questions about the fairyland series as I'm writing a journal article for it.

Is being a librarian as glamorous as it seems?

L Katz

Hullo, everyone! I'm Josh (which you can probably tell by my name right next to my avater) and I am not a robot. I live in Kansas City (which isn't where I'm from, I've lived all over, but it's the place I've lived the most) where I'm a public librarian, writer (mostly poetry, but also fiction and non-fiction blogging), tabletop gamer, and coffeeshop hanger-outer. The weather in KC right now is wet and hot, which is a shame because I prefer wet and chilly. I live with my black cat (a.k.a. tiny panther, a.k.a. land bat) Oberon, the Extreme Lap Cat (he's sulking at my feet right now because I'm not letting him sit in my lap as I type). I prefer dark roast coffee with lots of milk and honey. My tea preference is Irish Breakfast, but right now I'm drinking a cup of Celestial Seasonings Madagascar Vanilla rooibos. When I was a little boy, I created the Bigfoot Explorers Club, an organization dedicated to traveling the world in search of cryptids and other unusual phenomena, made signs that I taped up around the house, and declared my mom and brother were members.
