After Hours: The Were-Predator

Aaron, Tom, and I recently saw The Predator, the latest flick in the venerable sci-fi franchise. It was a hot mess, to put it lightly. So, how else can we improve it? Add another hot mess, of course! Each of us took some elements from Synnibarr, the classic fantasy heartbreaker RPG.

I also review Edge-On, an adventure anthology for the Cyberspace RPG. It's weird.

Song: Night of the Predator by Twinbrix.

I mean this scenario or rather series of scenarios sounds 100% reasonable.... when compared to the last Cyberpunk anthology. All the missions are possible heck down right probably to succeed. There is no company store or a orbital satellite which can erase you from existence. THen again it involves playing that game so not worth it and its still a hot mess.

Exactly. Fusion should be the answer to hydrocarbon extraction not the means. πŸ™‚

Ah, good! So at least it won't be any worse than that famous episode of environmental improvement, the Deepwater Horizon explosion.

Re: whatever released from the fusion reactor - The radioactive parts of a fusion reactor would be at most a Very Very Small amount of tritium which would not be a problem released into an ocean... and in some schemes the fusion chamber walls could become radioactive which is still a relatively small amount of material and will be much less of a problem than any chemicals released from the rest of the platform and the massive natural gas release from the uncapped well. Since they used explosives at least they didn't suggest the reactor could become a bomb because there is no way a fusion power plant could conceivably produce a nuclear explosion.

I think the book hints that the client is lying about their motivations but it's not very clear. It's not that well written.

Thanks! I look forward to seeing it on Netflix or wherever it ends up so we can talk about it on the podcast.

Comments on adventure 3: 1. So, the cyberpunk world still needs natural gas drilling, even though they have fusion reactors. Okay. 2. We're going to blow up a natural gas drilling operation, with a fusion reactor on it, releasing millions of tons of natural gas into the environment plus whatever is in the fusion reactor, to save the environment. Okay.
