What do you want us to review and gameify for Don't Cross the Stream?
Added 2018-03-18 22:56:24 +0000 UTCWe have recorded 3 episodes of Don't Cross the Stream now, so you should have a sense of what we go for when we record it. What other movies or shows should we watch? Some guidelines:
Titles on Netflix are far more likely to be picked because we all have it. Not opposed to using other streaming sites, but only legal ones will be accepted. We do not advocate for piracy.
I am not interested in going over major Hollywood titles - I prefer to look at more obscure titles.
Movies take less time to watch than a season of a TV show so they are more likely to be picked but if there's a really good TV show, we may make the extra effort.
The focus is on turning the title into a game or gameable material, like random tables or NPC stats. Very serious titles may not lend themselves to that idea.
Please post in the comments what you want to hear from us!

I am not sure what is on US Netflix, but here are some ideas from a movie day I held recently: Zardoz, R100, Antiviral, Machine Girl, Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame

2018-03-20 21:52:59 +0000 UTCFor gamification, I can't believe I almost forgot 'Blastfigher', the The Deer Hunter/First Blood/Death Wish rip-off with the gun that kills everyone in every possible way. I posted my own brief review of it on the RPPR forums here: <a href="http://slangdesign.com/forums/index.php/topic,1281.msg46153/#msg46153" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://slangdesign.com/forums/index.php/topic,1281.msg46153/#msg46153</a> Also in the same category, there's 'Equalizer 2000' which, while it doesn't feature as many ways of killing people, does have a montage scene of the shirtless, sweaty hero building his "Equalizer" lit only by the glow of his forge.

2018-03-20 14:48:36 +0000 UTCI've always wanted an RPG that plays like a classic man-on-the-run or prison break thriller. Don't have a specific suggestion but could you do something like that?

2018-03-19 15:05:01 +0000 UTCMasterminds. I know it’s a Hollywood film. But, it’s far from a blockbuster. And, working out a heist scenario with idiot characters would be more interesting than incredibly competent ones.

2018-03-19 14:36:10 +0000 UTCBLAME!. The Netflix movie presents a rather interesting post apocalyptic setting that might be well suited for a rules set like Mutant Year Zero.

2018-03-19 13:38:10 +0000 UTCNow I have to rewatch this, I don't think I've seen it since I was eleven (when my friends and I rented it multiple times on VHS). I know there's a lot of really offensive scenes in it, but I also remember a scene where Michael D. Roberts builds a black robot, and Robert Urich just broflakes out; whatever the author's intent, I think it was a great skewering of privileged distress.

2018-03-19 10:56:57 +0000 UTCClerks should be interesting to gamify. I seem to remember a spin-off set on the Death Star, with them running a convenience store for Stormtroopers. I think the base plot itself could be amenable to basic gamification, like random annoying customer tables, pushing stressful encounters onto your character's relationships with significant others, and having to manage the crowd gathering in and outside the store. I'm sure you could do something Mythos-themed, like Clerks in Carcosa having to cater to mythos creatures: scientist brains in the refrigerated section; essential saltes in the foreign foods aisle, by the turmeric; and you're not allowed to borrow the King in Yellow while going to the bathroom, not after what happened last time; the place doesn't need to get any stranger. Altered Carbon stats would be nice, too, because who doesn't love Eclipse Phase :)

2018-03-19 05:09:22 +0000 UTCInfini, which I actually think isn't bad and has the seed of a good Eclipse Phase game in it. John Dies In The End, which I think works well with an Unknown Armies vibe. Annihilation, because it's cool and I have no idea how you'd make it into a good game. The new live action Death Note movie, because I think it'll be funny to hear all the anime fans suffer through it like I had too :)

2018-03-19 04:30:14 +0000 UTCBad Guys Vile City is super enjoyable, and I'd be interested to see how you guys would run a campaign with a subject that's more mundane (per the show). Also, Devilman Crybaby. Love to hear what game material you'd pull from that. (Also a TV show) For schlock, 2307 winter's dream and Tag are both pretty odd movies.
