RPPR After Hours: Kingstarter

Our listeners have been sending in some great review fodder, so Caleb reviews Cyberskelter, a scenario anthology for Cyberspace, the same RPG that was responsible for Death Valley Free Prison. I review part of the Future King, a batshit insane RPG/adventure that takes six very specific heroes from history to save King Athur.  We also discuss some Kickstarter-related topics, such as a certain con artist and the practicality of Chaosium's Horror on the Orient Express.

RPPR After Hours: Kingstarter

I just love this campaign Caleb is reading off and I want him too make it into a campaign that is actually playable. Also the sex stuff man they just did not handle that well. Love the furries though Also I hate to say it but well there are people who would do that too there kids install the mental purity ring and wouldn't care or give a shit after the kid turns 18 if it malfunctioned and turned them into a psychopath. Or so long as it kept there son/daughter straight The last scenario... I what I know what is going on! Also what are the preludes for the 3rd and 4th scenarios Russian Intelligence Gorilla is the best I wanna see the Kingmaker game be played because it would be a good little thing with a full cast and crew of RPPR. So that Kingstarter... its huh its a Tom One-Shot if he was drunk I feel... is that a good or bad thing

By the way - the towns they list are actually towns in the SF Bay Area. (I live in one of them.)

oh yea, that was my thought. Barely knew who some of the people in the actual book were, but just hand out "Everyone's some random ass from history. Now go stop Kennedy's assassination by the werewolves!"

Wow, this might be the funniest After Hours yet. Solid gold.

I like that when Aaron sees Hotel* his first thought is not to scroll down an inch and see the giant asterisked footnote at the bottom of the page saying "apparently he didn't actually own this one, the actual owners asked us to take it down." $PATREON_DOESNT_DO_CARRIAGE_RETURNS man Whitman's feed on that site is amazing. apparently people on the internet are "stocking" him. I'm not sure it's stalking when you attempt to secure a refund for a product you paid for and never received?

IT'S ALWAYS CYBER IN PHILADELPHIA. I'm all of twelve minutes in and I already couldn't contain myself

This may just be a litmus test that shows my many character flaws, but I actually thought some bits and pieces of Cyberskelter are perfectly good to use if only you aren't suffused by creepiness and horrible prejudice as any Cyberspace writer seems to be. Doc's in-skull purity ring meltdown and personality change could be a great villain background if it isn't solely to make the npc dominatrix Mengele, Toxicshock's whole inept, shitty questgiver shtick could be fun, I could see Rubber Maid being great more or less as is (and she sounds a touch like a Red Markets reference to me), etc.

So... thoughts, from a listener, for "The Future King": Wushu game similar to a League game? Scrap the system given and just utilize the setup and encounters. And finally, I think that this was Tom Moldvay's desire for a sequel to "Monte Python and the Holy Grail", just in game form.

I am so glad Ross got so much enjoyment out of that game. That was thrown in to a bunch of stuff that I won at auction for $5.

I loved the brief return of the making stuff up again.

Caleb, you still fail to understand. We pay so that Ross DOESN'T ever stop.

Thanks, Ross (and crew)!
