RPPR After Hours: Zack Snyder's Airlords of the Ozarks

In this episode we review Blood in the Slave Pits, an adventure for Legendquest, which apparently was the RPG for people that wanted a game that makes sense. We also look at Twilight 2000 and Airlords of the Ozarks, the only Ozarks themed adventure in RPG history about fighting white supremacists in blimps.

There's also discussion about the cinematic genius that is Zack Snyder and think about what films he could reinvent with his unique and brilliant style.

Ross is correct about bubonic plague. It's pretty common among rodents (squirrels, rats, etc) in the southwest US. There is still some debate about why it is so much less lethal than the major historical outbreaks. The marginalia in the books was a nice touch. Airlords of the Ozarks seems like it could work if run in Fate, while Blood in the Slave Pits seems super DCC-esque.

Bubonic Plague is alive and well because ground rodents in places like Mongolia (where they think it came from originally) and California, can carry it without dying. But the reason why it is a non-issue in our modern world is because basic antibiotics will kill it. /plague-nerding

Has anyone suggested Kromore? Kickstarted in 2014 it is "a multi era tabletop roleplaying setting that appeals to old and new RPG fans alike". A bit generic, but my main issue with it is that it feels like it has been translated to English when the author is American. Weird sentence structures and phrases throughout the book makes it feel like it was written without an editor.

Hahaha, I completely forgot I actually read through some of that pile of shit I sent you. There was at least one more Legend Quest product in that "care" package. True story about when I "bought" the Legend Quest stuff: the proprietor of the store, a grumpy combination of David the Gnome and Jerry Garcia, was hopelessly confused because there was no SKU. It belonged to his store because of the sticker, but he hadn't used sticker prices like that since the early 2000s, meaning it was not only 50% off, but it had ALSO survived years of hyper liquidation sales and was not purged in a massive recycling run from the excess of the d20 era. In short, I haggled dat down to fitty cent.

This looks amazing. I have yet to even begin listening to this and already I know that there must be an Airlords of the Ozarks actual play. If for no reason other than to preserve it for future generations.

Thanks, Ross (and crew)!
