RPPR After Hours: Gritinu - Anima and R-rated Superhero Movies

Fuzzy Dan joins us to discuss Anima, a Spanish RPG that animes the shit out of all the things with a touch of Catholicism.  Also, we talk about how every superhero movie apparently needs to be rated R now since Deadpool made a lot of money.

Well it seems that Fantasy Flight Games is pulling support for the PDF of Anima on Drive through RPG

Am I the only one who wants to see Loli-pope VS. Antipope?

Here is something else, they made a card game based on the Anima world as well. The game was also published by Fantasy Flight. My wife bought a copy of it and well, it isn't the best of games. The artwork is pretty good though.

I would listen to Fuzzy Dan give us a full history lesson on the bullshit Anima :P

The album is linked in the show notes above and it's a free download :O

Hey! I really liked the music for this one!

Ethan Cordray

THAT'S RIGHT ADOBE! I appreciated that joke.

Thomas Novosel

Brings back memories of eight hour character creation, furiously resolving attacks on a calculator, lamenting the lack of an index, and trying to decipher labyrinthine rules. Still pretty fun in the right circumstances!

passing comment or not, I am fucking dying for a Great Lakes Avengers movie or series. give it one of those badass spinning camera angle shots ala Avengers, where Mr Immortal dies horrifically every 5 seconds, falls off camera and gets back up again

first response to seeing this up: "WOO! TREE HYPE!"

Thanks, Ross (and team)!

I won't say that the system itself doesn't suffer, because my god it does. Between the original and Exxet editions, there are like 7 different magic subsystems, and none are balanced against each other.

holy shit that's a lot of work to make a game playable

Ross Payton

Anima's biggest problem is that each chapter was translated by a different person, and there's no sense of consistency. I actually purchased the Spanish editions and retranslated them to make it playable.
