RPPR After Hours: Remember the Machismo

Special guest Michelle shows up to review Macho Women with Guns. Ross reviews A.C.E Agents, the premier GI Joe parody RPG. We also talk about the most macho of magazines from the 1990s, Soldier of Fortune, and more specifically, the ads at the back of the magazine. It's like a gear chapter in a Palladium RPG! There's also some talk about the recent hijacking of the Silent Hill wiki by a man on a quest to tell the world about the horrors of circumcision.

So I couldn't find Fighting Knife's Magazine but if you want to know what can go in a monthly knife magazine, well thanks to the magic of Google: www.personaldefenseworld.com/publications/tactical-knives/tactical-knives-january-2014 . Far from being a 90's thing it looks like this mag folded in 2014. Also I'm pretty sure by searching for this I'm on some sort of government watch list now. *edited to fix link.

Ok, the solder of fortune ads thing totally reminded me of thid video

BTRC, the perpetrators of Macho Women With Guns, was/is one of my favorite game publishers. I have gotten way too much enjoyment from their Gun, Gun, Guns! Book, Vehicle Design System (and you thought building a Mech was hard) and I have not played nearly enough CORPS or EABA. Still, I doubt Greg Porter would take any issue with anything you say about MWWG (my assessment may change after I listen to the episode...).

Dat moment Aaron's idealization for his hero, Isaac Asimov, dies.

oohr. is Red Markets hitting tonight, too?

Another night of staying up far too late. Worth it.

Solid episode, liked the soldier of fortune stuff. Keep up the good work.

But... But Aaron, there's plenty of beaches in Cleveland. It's bordered by Lake Erie! I can't believe you! I'm cancelling my Patronage! You lost a customer!!! πŸ˜„ In all seriousness, another great After Hours. I'm kinda glad I was born in '87 and don't remember the 80s. Cocaine was a hell of a drug.

Thanks, Ross!

I love the idea of running Macho Women... as the opposite to Caleb's concept to run Night Witches.
