RPPR After Hours: Omniboob - deadEarth and Roar - Part 1

Tom, Aaron, and I went up to St. Louis to catch the live Night Vale show. Before that though, we went through character creation in deadEarth. The hotel's fridge was on for the first time, so there's a bit of background noise. If it bothers you all, I can go back and try to remaster it but I figured you guys would want to hear the nuances of chargen in this gem of a rpg. Learn more about deadEarth here: https://rpgcharacters.wordpress.com/downloads-games/deadearth-resources/ We will have a part 2 up soon that will cover the backstory of deadEarth and the movie Roar, which we saw recently.

Found it!

Of course I had to download this damned book now. I think the best part about the radiation table is the "cost" of each mutation. For example: "100 -Death. You are dead. Over-exposure to radiation kills you. cost: none. " Death costs you NOTHING! :D

Is there any way to download this to listen to while I wander/garden/drive? I'm new to the Patreon. Awesome job on pretty much everything. Thanks!

Dan Williamson

I will say that the website thing the game apparently did sounds pretty cool, it might be why (in addition to "game design in the 90s") something like this lasted so long.

Wow. This...yes this was an episode. Great find Ross. One criticism. When you are reading from a book (in the beginning of the episode) please do not rush it. I figured you were trying to get the podcast in the can before the show but it was difficult to understand everything you were saying.

Amazing. The rules for constipation and diarrhea are gold, and have inspired me to use scatological malfunctions as a Trouble Aspect for Fate characters For example, "Gotta Go NOW!!" or "It's LEAKING!!"

Christopher Reed

St. Louis show was packed and I wouldn't be surprised if most of their shows were as popular.

Clearly, this makes for a helluva random exsurgent virus table for Eclipse Phase

Ross Payton

I've gotta come up with some occasion to work that ludicrous table into a different game sometime.

I'm torn between whether the best part of the episode was Ross's mad cackling, Tom's abject resignation, or Aaron's befuddled indignation. Long live Omniboob!

Richard C Beaulieu

Ross seriously started sounding like the Arkham City dying Joker at some points there, in-between speak so distorted by chortling I couldn't even understand what was being said. I laughed as much at that as the trainwreck that is deadEarth. Speaking of... holy moley, that game. That over-sized random 'mutation' chart is a turd diamond in the rough. I'd like to see a brave GM and some foolhardy players actually record a serious go at it, warts and all. (Perhaps with a few pinches of sanity, though. I'm fairly sure the 'Body of Water' mutation just meant if you landed in water you'd auto-drown, not if you touched ANY water.) ... you didn't actually -play- it, did you?

We needs part 2!

PART II WHEN? I need to hear Caleb's reaction to this

Darth

Woooo... Ah christ... I'm crying laughing at work. I need part 2 so bad!

KamenOtaku

Really looking forward to Caleb's reaction to this.

Thomas Piekarski

Ross was having such a great time during character creation.

Night Vale came down to Tucson, but I only learned about it, like, three hours ahead of time, and it would've been a 90 minute drive. I feel like kind of a heel for not going, even so =

In one of the supplements, there is a radiation that -- literally -- LITERALLY -- gives you two buttholes.

Ethan Cordray

A Torgo reference!!

Ethan Cordray

That art. That art.

Ethan Cordray

Ross' mad cackling on this one prove once and for all that he is a horrible monster.
