The Biology Lab is furnished!

Hey! I've got some good news!

The Biology Lab - one of the only rooms in school that was completely empty - is now furnished with props!

Currently, no aspect of the room features any sort of functionality, but off the top of my head, I can quickly think of three utilities for this room:

1. Freezing students to death by locking them inside of the freezer room and turning the temperature down to subzero temperatures that humans can't survive.
2. Storing corpses inside of the refrigeration chest temporarily until a more convenient time to transport and dispose of them.
3. Growing poisonous plants in the grow stations to have free access to emetic/lethal/sedative/headache poisons.

To implement the "freeze to death" feature, I would have to figure out how to trick a student into arbitrarily entering the freezer room.

To implement the "grow poisonous plants" feature, I would have to figure out how the player would obtain the seeds necessary to grow plants with extreme properties. The two ideas that come to mind are ordering the seeds online, or getting chemicals from the Science Club that change the properties of plants. If I decide to go down that route, then "access to exotic substances that can change the properties of plants" would probably become a Science Club benefit.

I also have an idea in mind regarding that peculiar-looking moving plant...but it might be considered too silly and goofy to include in the game.

As of now, there is only one other room remaining in the game that lacks props - and it's adjacent to the Biology Lab. It's the "English Classroom," which I've decided to turn into a "Foreign Studies" room, instead. A modeler has been making fantastic progress on it, and I anticipate that it'll be done sometime later this year!

I hope you are happy to see things coming together!

I mean they meet in the biology lab in general, and they will be standing near the freezer room.

this is my new favorite classroom

Poison Ivy Easter egg?

Science club idea really works I think, I don’t really join the science club cause I never feel like the benefits are enough

Echolai

I really agree with this but I think a freezer is a weird meeting place. But it definitely should be an elimination method!!

Echolai

Oh my god!!! This is amazing

Echolai

:O Oh my gosh, that sounds crazy! I can totally see why that would be silly however it would be nice to have a place to dispose of corpses on the third floor without many witnesses.

I'll just say it: The player would be able to obtain a chemical from the Science Club that causes the plant to grow. If the player feeds the plant (X) days in a row, it will eventually grow so large that it will be possible to feed human corpses to the plant, who will leave behind no evidence at all.

YandereDev

Probably not.

i agree it’s a little brain-dead, but i still don’t think there’s a need to make this a huge custom elimination. for criteria, i’d say a biology stat of at least 1, more likely 2, a faculty ID card to be able to turn on and off the freezer & lock it’s doors, and maybe some other like “technology knowledge” stat. maybe ayano would need to attend a supplementary class in the afternoon in there, or be in the science club, to learn how all the tech works?

Hmm...fair point. Student following and in proximity? Button prompt appears. Player presses button, characters slide into position, paired animation plays. I guess it could work out that easily...but it seems a bit brain-dead. I wonder what kind of per-requisite criteria the player should have to meet before this method becomes unlocked.

Would this room look different in 1980s mode?

the weird plant Must be a venus flytrap (something little-shop-of-horrors-esque, i assume…). Also, it would be nice to have some sort of hint as to how to “make use” of the room, on the whiteboard perhaps? something about cryogenics would be interesting i think!

teddybabie

Yay! This is so wonderful! I love it. Will you tell us the idea for the weird plant if you don't go through with it?

SisterLemon7

Perhaps we can place something really valuable in the freezer room, enough so that anyone would be willing to enter it? I suppose regular distractions like radios, bang snaps and dropped weapons still work? Though the characters need to be in the room in the first place...maybe make it a potential meeting spot in the notes we can leave for students? Perhaps the poisonous plant can be related to the biology stat too, which is still quite underutilized in my opinion. Great work, Dev!

"To implement the "freeze to death" feature, I would have to figure out how to trick a student into arbitrarily entering the freezer room." i don't think there's a need to overcomplicate this! you could just lure a student to the doors of the freezer via giggles, and, as long as their back is turned, have a prompt to shove them inside of it & lock the doors. it could have a checklist, like the kidnapping one, to make sure you have the keys, the student close enough & facing into the freezer, and maybe your biology stat high enough to make sure the player would-in theory-know how to lower the temperatures and to what degree. but overall, the room looks awesome!

This is Amazing, Good Work!
