Inspiring perspective. Nice to meet you... here, of all places. I'm a concept artist at Mundfish/ Atomic Heart. Hats off to you and the team! KCDII looks magnificent.

Just gonna put the whole poem here because it always inspires me when I feel lost in the society soup. I keep it folded up tucked in my Shakespeare-bust bookend by my bed ☺️ Your life is your life Don’t let it be chibbed into dank submission Be on the watch There are ways out There is a light somewhere. It may not be much light but It beats the darkness. Be on the watch. The gods will offer you chances. Know them Take them You can’t beat death but You can beat death in life sometimes And the more often you learn to do it, The more light there will be. Your life is your life. Know it while you have it You are marvellous The gods wait to delight in you - ‘The Laughing Heart’

I love how you put this. But don’t lose hope, it won’t be like this forever. I know it. We are in a dirty blip in time but the expansive universe that envelops us is full of immense beauty. To touch another being emotionally with your expression is exceptional and a worthy testament to the Human essence. disappear. work slow. and, to paraphrase Bukowski, ‘… You are marvellous, the gods wait to delight in you’

Hello Everyone! Iwould like to add a story from my professional life. I would like to bring a bitof hope into the dark part of creative life that Luiza jsut described. I work for a studiothat develops video games. Recently we released a game that had been indevelopment for approximately six years. Our Executive producer Martin Klíma didnot forgot to remind us that it was quite exceptional, that even though Warhorsestudios was sold to Embracer Group, we had enough time to finish the projectand that we were very freehanded about our creative choices. As an insider Ican confirm, that we were not pushed by deadlines – we postponed the releasedate several times and except marketing, we were not forced to adjust thevision, how the game should look like (or at least that I am not aware of). They gave us money to develop the game slowly. I am not sure why they chose tosupport us in this way. The Embracer group dismissed many other studios. Videogame industry is in crisis as you - can read almost everywhere the video gametopic matters. Guys, I can confirm that there are many creative people in thestudio that put their best into the game. And guess what. Commercial successfollowed. We sold over two millions of copies in less than two weeks. Ratingsand feedbacks are great in general. We are a relatively small studio based inPrague, yet our game can be compared to the best titles in the industry. It is KingdomCome Deliverance II (https://store.steampowered.com/app/1771300/Kingdom_Come_Deliverance_II/).I do not think it is super deep, super sophisticated art, but it is a really goodgame. Based on comments, people are overfed by quickly made products, theyreally appreciated the work we putted in. It is awesome. (Of course, it isbusiness, It was not all made by kickstarter money, there is coalbaron moneyincluded and Embracer investment included, but I was trying to talk about the fact, that we were working slowly, and it did not feel like the selling perspectiveis the only priority). Someone asked our future creative director, what is our perfect customer for our next project. And he said: „What do youmean, perfect customer? We are developing games that are enjoyable for us and theaudience comes later.“ Might sound cheesy, but I have no doubt that inner workshould come first and outer work follows in creative projects. It seems that „customers“smell it as well. What do you think? PS: I am not ableto avoid this anxious paragraph. I wish it did not sound like promoting someproduct and that it is not annoying to mention what I worked on again. I justreally wanted to share the hope I felt today , for the first time realizing what a financialsuccess on this particular project might mean. From my perspective it was asmall victory after many losses in my professional artist life. It felt likeloss after loss. People slightly dismissing artists as useless, silent agreementwith the fact how brutally data for generative AI was stolen, Adobe slowlychanging from cool and innovative to parasitic... stuff like that. And here, alittle light of hope :)
