'I believe we're all sinners - and everyone else is deluded' - interesting ;-) Re Dawkin's lack of imagination, it is true, it's disappointing. I can't imagine living in a world so stark as he professes. Either he does it because he HAS to because that is his 'brand'. But even i, who do not believe in anything magical, supernatural or anything higher behind simple human consciousness, can't get on board with his I am coming to believe more and more that any belief, far out, extreme like Catholic magic or Islamic unbending oppression all from the words of gods, or silly and charming, like fairies or mermaids.... it's all just feelings and imagination. I have felt incredible, magical, hopeful, exciting things. So has everyone. I have wondered through times in my life, if it means something greater, if it's a power greater. Nope, it's just my brain. Those feelings come and go. Like happiness, sadness, terror and fervour. What I choose to latch on to because it's what I was taught or brought up on or feel is the 'right' and virtuous path, or the path that will save us from fear and damnation. I am no different. You are not different. We are not different. We are just our minds and our actions. We are just our imaginations. And that is a wild, magical, and precious thing. The sooner the world understands what makes us beautiful, social beings, we may hope to work together and support each other. My feelings are just feelings. There is no potential for me to feel any greater or lesser feelings, and apply my imagination to understand what those feelings mean, than another human being. But equally, my experience, feelings and potential (including my potential for darkness, destruction and despair) are unique, mine and totally precious. To me. I can choose to believe the person next to me deserves the same respect and appreciation. Alas.... humans seem to also compelled to impose their righteousness, judgements, and damnation on one another. Human egocentricism is wild. We all look up at the sky, and wonder at the stars, not because we are compelled by some deeper 'true' meaning.... we're compelled by our imaginations. For me, that's beautiful. Simple, scary, beautiful, and now. Loved listening to the devil's advocacy at play. Especially when it's digging in to some deeply ingrained and held prejudices and judgements on display. It's exciting and challenging. It's fun!

If you haven't already you guys might like what Bernado Kastrup has to say about Jung's metaphysics, for me he clarified how the collective unconscious is the material world. He is a computer scientist turned philosopher who argues against the AI-consciousness possibility
