2024-10-24 11:52:12 +0000 UTCPolishing off this epic, and I have a final thought.... I had my own strong views about what this book and the story meant to me... But with some of your insights, including talk of Yin and Yang or William Blake's The Ancient of Days, images and links that are so striking, it makes me feel moreso that this novel is possibly a (playful?) negative print of Jesus' story in the Bible - written as a mirror image of Evil where the Bible is Good.... A literary and moral experiment. Both are human stories, both playing with the extremes of what people are capable of, and what these natures/behaviours can unleash in their pure forms. It's almost consuming to ponder.
