Composition Workshop Module 1.2 Visual Design

Hi everyone & welcome back to my Composition Workshop,

If you missed the first module, you can watch it here: Composition Workshop Module 1.1 The Invisible Technique

I've developed this Composition Workshop as a Patreon exclusive to help unite the Composition study between the visual arts and filmmaking.

Today I'm covering a lesson on Visual Design elements, from simple ideas to more complex ones. Attached to this post is the workbook for Module II with a lot more guidance and examples, also more information.

I'm also open to any questions. Feel free to show me the results of your exercises, or to tell me your favourite shot of all time (or your favourite painting).

Thanks for your support,

Luiza

I'm happy to hear you are finding the Workshop helpful. The exercises I will be proposing throughout this series are exercises that helped me in my journey as an artist, and that still help me when I feel stuck in my work. We'll definitely make a post dedicated to great resources for covering different categories soon. - Luiza

The Cinema Cartography

You can definitely use the hashtag "TheCinemaCartography for this. If you do, please tag me at @luizalizbond so I can see. The Famous Artists Course is a great series. My biggest recommendation for academic drawing is going through a combination of the exercises of the series you mentioned, and accommodating time to practice some Charles Bargue plates once you get comfortable with observational drawing. - Luiza

The Cinema Cartography

Very much looking forward to working on this! Would it be okay if we tag you on Instagram? I wanna see the channel grow. See if we can start the Cinema Cartography educational movement 😤 If you haven't read through it yet, which might be doubtful, I highly recommend The Famous Artists Course! It's available in PDF now. It's taught by the likes of Norman Rockwell, Al Parker and Albert Derne. It's courses specifically on composition are incredible

I really appreciate the effort, Luiza. The video was really helpful. I have been practicing by drawing onto painting and frames. Also, can you suggest some books similar to the one you mentioned by Andrew Loomis in the PDF, or maybe some other sources from where you guys learn from. I would be really helpful Thank you.
